In the midst of practicing, Luna still could not choose an element and it was partly because of her special condition. The people in Magus Nation were introduced early about different kinds of magic and knew that it was not mere fiction whereas Luna grew up in a completely different world. Although she mostly read fiction stories, experiencing it was different altogether.
Luna practiced step 1 one more time and restored it after with great control. No matter how repetitive it was, for a girl like Luna who preferred fantasy stories, using magic was not tedious at all.
Because of her persistent training, the tiredness that Luna felt after the first time she used magic had decreased incredibly in such a short term. But even though her exhaustion decreased, Luna chose to stop for the time being. She put a bookmark on the book and placed it on the study table. The reason she stopped was because of the mental pressure it was bringing her as the mental pressure that she felt was almost the same when she read books non-stop.
The moment she closed the book, three short knocks occurred on her bedroom's wooden door. Luna stood up to open it and saw Miss Zione.
'She's still as cold as ice,' Luna thought as she wondered if Miss Zione's magic element was ice because of her cold disposition. If it was the reason, she shuddered upon the effects it could bring her if she chose that element.
"Miss Luna, pardon for my intrusion but it's time for dinner," Miss Zione said.
Luna hurriedly shook her head. "Not really, you didn't disturb me at all. Let's go?" she uttered.
"Uhm," Miss Zione said.
Both of them walked downstairs and went straight to the dining room. Upon walking, Luna thought that she didn't notice how she practiced till evening, and doing all of it made her hungry.
"Hello, Miss Luna!" Ryle said.
"Hi," Luna uttered.
"You already went upstairs earlier and I didn't have the time to talk with you. How's your first time assisting him?" Ryle said.
Luna sat on the chair first and looked at him.
"It's fine. I experienced a lot," she answered. After that, she completely immersed herself in the appetizing dishes in front of her. Seeing her focused eyes, Ryle stopped mumbling things as he knew how much she craved food.
'Do people from another world eat a lot?' Ryle thought and since it was impossible to disturb Miss Zione and Luna, he turned his attention towards Akiro. Nonetheless, the person on the subject wasn't paying attention to him at all. In the end, they all ate in peace and quiet.
Once they finished with their food, they immediately left the dining room, leaving Akiro's female servants to clean the entire table. In the middle of the hallway, Akiro reminded Luna about something.
"Luna, you'll train early in the morning. Wake up early," Akiro said.
She nodded in response and walked upstairs until someone called her again. When she looked at them, they were all looking at her.
"Why? Are there any other things?" Luna asked.
"Uhm, aren't you a little too hurried? Are you doing something? I can lend a help," Ryle said.
Aside from being a chatterbox, Luna thought that he's quite an observer.
"Nothing much, just curious about the things around Vermillion, and reading is definitely my hobby so if there's nothing else, I'll go to my room," Luna said. Her desire to read more was reflected in her black eyes that were as dark as the night sky. Ryle didn't disturb her any further upon seeing her burning passion for reading.
"Okay then, we won't disturb you," Ryle said.
Meanwhile, Akiro and Miss Zione didn't respond so she finally walked upstairs. After closing the door, she heaved a sigh of relief. Despite resting a little bit, Luna could not stop herself from practicing so she sat in front of the white-colored study table and opened the book about bending magic. The light from the floating lamps across her room illuminated enough for her to read during nighttime.
When Luna scanned it, she remembered that it was talking about the various elements on page 45. Upon reaching the right page, she started reading earnestly.
'The Elements of the world a user can wield:
1. Water
As calm as it prevails, once seethed, be careful of its retribution.
The water element emphasizes calmness and healing. Oftentimes, people who have this element seek to utilize its calmness and use without bringing rage into anyone.
Magic-users that have this were mostly aloof and calm in nature. They refuse to let out their negative emotions and solve problems without picking up a fight.
Nonetheless, one couldn't underestimate its prowess 'cause once a huge amount of water element is used, it could bring a torrential calamity into anyone. Choosing a water element can activate one of its branches. The branches of it are ice, spring cure, and water toxins.
Furthermore, depending on one's personality and nature, the branches that a magic-user varies.'
'2. Fire
With burning rage and fury, only the strong-willed ones are eligible for using fire!
Fire is a widely-known dangerous element. It may emphasize destruction but it's also one of the most offense-based magic that one can win against most people.
Magic-users that chose this element were strong, proud, and domineering. They were the ones that release an aura enough for people to fear them. Despite its destructive force, the user that wields it only uses it for battles and not for bullying weaker ones. They also have their own values that they won't break.
For a fire element to be controlled, one must have great control of oneself and has their own limitations despite a strong-willed attitude, or else, the fire element could take over your entire self without notice.
Branches: Black Fire, White Fire, and Blue Fire'
'3. Earth
Become one with nature. The world itself can be your savior, companion, and family.
The earth element can either be destructive or create life. The world in itself is made of earth. The magic-users that wield this have a more balanced personality than the two elements above. They can be as strong as a fire element magic-user when their patient rose to its limits and can be a nice and friendly person that could bring one to life and end their misery.
Its branches aren't clear but some were classified as earthquake, plant-wielder, and the rarest one, spirit-wielder.'
'It's the elements that a person can wield together with its branches. Although the main elements were only three, we wouldn't know if some will be added. Nonetheless, there was once an element where a skilled magic-user was able to use.'
'It was lightning. An element that came from above. It was unknown how that person was able to wield it but don't dare try to control it for many experts died because of following his path!'
After that, Luna kept silent. She's bothered by the author's last statement about elements that she stood up and looked for other information on the shelves in her room. An hour had passed. She finished scanning all the books related to it. Unfortunately, it only said the similar thing that the author of that book said.
Among the elements, it was the only thing that piqued her curiosity, thus Luna came to a conclusion.
'I want to wield a lightning element!' Luna thought.
Luna kept the books in order including the ones she brought into the West Village since she didn't want them to know about these unknown abilities. For now, she would bear learning magic by reading books.
She had no idea how hard it was to learn magic without personal guidance. Unbeknownst to her, others would have a fright of their lives after knowing how Luna easily learned the first step of bending magic with only herself and a few books that she stumbled upon in her room.
