The sun rays from the opened curtains and windows reached Luna's bed which wake her up. Her eyes slowly opened and stretched her limbs to wake her still sleepy mind. Then she hurriedly stood up while yawning and peeked through her window.
"Good morning!" Luna shouted.
Luna couldn't explain but her body felt very light and comfortable. It's her best sleep in her entire life, although she did not know that it was due to the replenishment of energy after using magic for the first time. Running around, she tidied up herself and opened a huge wardrobe. It was almost twice her height and her eyes gleamed when she saw a variety of dresses inside it. She took a short-sleeved cream-colored dress that had the same length as her blue one. Luna quickly changed into it after taking a bath.
Meanwhile, Luna didn't notice that she skipped dinner last night. Akiro decided not to wake her up which Miss Zione and Ryle agreed to. They're very well aware of how tiring for the body it was for a person who used magic for the first time.
When Luna completed her morning activities, she walked down the stairs and went straight to the dining room because she couldn't ignore the grumble of her stomach. Although the mansion was big, there's no way for her to not find that room. It's the food we're talking about anyway.
Inside the dining area, Luna saw three familiar persons comfortably sitting on their chairs. Ryle looked at the door after he heard her quick footsteps and said, "Good morning, Luna!"
Luna smiled at them and greeted him back while following a woman in a maid's uniform who instructed her to sit beside Akiro. Then her gaze went to the savory food in front of her that made her mouth to water.
'I'm hungry, it's time to eat!' she thought with her eyes on the table. Afterward she started to place some food on her plate and when she was about to taste the meat, Akiro interrupted her.
"Enjoy your breakfast. After this, you have to prepare your things. We'll set off to work later," Akiro said.
Ryle attempted to join in but Akiro outright declined him and said that he would be a nuisance. He was later left with a devastated expression during the whole day.
Meanwhile, Luna simply nodded and started eating her food. While eating, she remembered that there were a lot of servants today. Yesterday, she didn't see any of them except Miss Zione. 'Maybe it is their day off yesterday,' she thought and stopped her fork midair, 'Or this place is just too big to not see them still...' she thought as she continued eating.
"Thanks for the delicious food prepared on the table," Ryle uttered.
The three of them finished eating. Luna also did. Her hunger immediately vanished from the abundance of food on the table. They went towards their respective rooms after their breakfast. Luna busied herself in preparing her things especially her clothes. She's quite picky with clothes since the styles were different and she selected the ones that were comfortable enough to move regardless of their design. All of them were nicely done anyway.
Luna pushed the small rectangular case beside her wardrobe near the bed. She opened it and nothing could be found inside except the sheets of metal that hold the luggage in place. It's too old-fashioned compared to the usual luggage found on Earth. With tiny wheels and small pockets inside, Luna thought that it's more efficient to use than this luggage.
She folded three sets of shirts, a skirt, and a few dresses, and a pair of shoes. Her belongings were all on Earth and she couldn't think what else was there to bring. The luggage was small but the large space inside was clear to see.
Luna turned around her room and the dark brown wooden shelves took her attention. Running around the shelves, she chose four interesting books about Vermillion and two others that talked about magic. An enthusiast of books wouldn't be lacking anything to read.
It finally filled the space inside her small luggage. Fitting all of it won't be a problem as her six books were not that thick and she specifically picked some that were easier to bring. Closing the luggage, she sat on her bed.
'Did I bring all the important things?' Luna thought.
After all, she didn't know what kind of work they will be doing. She squinted her eyes with furrowed brows and thought hard if she forgot something. Drowned within her thoughts, Luna came back to reality when she heard light knocks on the door. She stopped furrowing her brows and stood up.
"Come in!" she said and stood up.
Luna saw Akiro and Miss Zione entered her room. Miss Zione was in her usual clothes similar to a business lady while Akiro's white coat and black polo shirt inside looked dashing with a pair of black gloves and a white hat. His necktie's neatly placed inside and the detailed silver lines on his coat and hat would surely catch everyone's attention.
She slightly criticized him with her gaze because his exaggerated look would only fit for attending parties rather than going to work. She began to think if other men in this world dressed as lavishly as him.
'Ryle also looked like one yesterday!' Luna remembered.
Luna consciously looked at herself into the mirror quickly. At least, she wouldn't look like a miserable servant beside him. It's good that she'd done her hair neat and pretty this morning with the hairpins found on one of the drawers. She even wondered if the gems in it were real. Her dress and low-heeled sandals looked formal too.
"Luna?" Akiro said.
She's left dumbfounded and turned around towards them, her hands at the back, and played with her fingers.
"W-what is it? Are we going to set off now?" Luna asked.
He nodded and looked around.
"I suppose you're done already. We should be going now, let's go," Akiro said.
After that, he didn't utter any word and left her room. Miss Zione took her luggage which Luna insisted but Miss Zione didn't let her to, pertaining it's her work. Luna didn't persuade her more and followed the cold, distant man walking in front.
'Aren't you walking too fast?!' Luna thought.
While walking the long and wide, old fashioned yet elegant hallway, Miss Zione and Akiro kept talking about different things she wasn't familiar with. Her focus shifted to the floating candles that lit blue-colored fire to lighten up the dark corners of Akiro's mansion. Luna wondered if she could get one for her bedroom. Nonetheless, she's still in mystery how magic defied science in this magic world named Vermillion.
'I'll read those books later,' Luna cheered.
After that, Luna heard them talking about today's work. She kept her attention towards it.
"Master, you're already booked at Red Castle's Hotel. It wouldn't be a problem to go there anytime you want before reaching the West Village," Miss Zione said.
"Well done, and one more thing, please make sure that Ryle will not do any reckless move inside my mansion," Akiro reminded.
Luna thought that Akiro was being harsh or she still didn't know of Ryle's true personality. After all, first impression never lasts. But for now, all her impression about him was a chatterbox and a flirt sometimes. Maybe, his positive side was to be a good friend to Akiro.
"Yes, master," Miss Zione answered.
Miss Zione and Akiro continued to talk until they reached the front door and saw the vehicle waiting for them.
However, Luna was left stunned by the sight of the vehicle they would use.
