The door opened in the orphanage as a familiar face walked into the room.
Hazel immediately recognized Bobby as the boy who clobbered him in his last life with the rock. A feeling of uncontrollable rage started to consume him, but he pushed it aside as the young version of Bobby walked in with tears in his eyes.
There was a man who brought him into the room named Levon was notorious for doing weird tests on orphans. They would do things like hang people upside down in the sunlight to see if they would burn like vampires and put them in water to see if their skin would melt like a witch.
Hazel always thought it was a cruel way for people like Levon to pass the time, but it could also be that they were seriously trying to find out if someone like Hazel was a vampire. His feeling of rage somewhat calmed as Bobby walked past him and jumped on the bed. He looked tired from whatever cruel experiment Levon just used for his own kicks and giggles.
That only meant one thing for Hazel.
It meant that he would be next in Levon's list on the orphanage.
He took a deep breath and calmed himself down as he thought of ways in which he should escape. He first had to wait for Adelaide to be treated before he tried to escape. Then if he wanted, he could get revenge on Bobby before he left.
It wasn't right to think this of an innocent boy who has not done anything yet, but he really wanted revenge on the cruel boy who always looked for a chance to beat him up.
His doctor made it a point that if Hazel wasn't hit in the head with that rock, he still would have been a kind and loving boy when he returned home. His reincarnation was therefore in part because of Bobby.
He bided his time and tried to remain calm as Bobby sat above him on the bunk bed. He was slightly humming like he did every night. Hazel hadn't originally been his roommate and was stationed across from him in the hallway. He took another deep breath and tried to ignore the song before he could no longer take it.
"I'm trying to sleep." Hazel turned and crossed his arms on the bed.
"I just got here. Can you let me sleep?" He maintained a calm tone in his voice despite the wrath starting to consume him. The rage was stronger than any feeling he ever experienced in his last life. It was probably the combination of him just having killed so many ghouls and the blood coursing through his veins.
He still imagined that female woman who got shot in the head. The taste of her blood was still enrapturing him as he played with his tongue in his mouth. He started to salivate from the thought of sucking someone elses blood, but stopped himself.
Hazel took a deep breath and was surprised to hear that Bobby stopped humming. It sounded oddly quiet, like the sound when that female's heart stopped beating. So quiet that he could hear the nurse talking to a doctor.
He almost picked up what the nurse said, something like "edible" before he looked up and saw a fist coming towards his face from Bobby. His body was dangling off the bed as he swung a fist backwards as his hair dropped towards the floor.
Bobby was much smaller than Hazel, but did things like pull ups, chin ups, and situps to become one of the leaders at the orphanage.
Hazel knew he was much stronger than him when he first got here last time, but this time he wasn't scared. He calmed down and pushed forward his left hand. Bobby's fist barely touched it before Bobby lost his balance and fell from the bed. He crashed onto the floor and rolled from the slight movement of Hazel's hand.
The feeling of anger returned to Hazel as he saw his prey laying on the floor. He stood up and looked over to the door before he rushed to Bobby. He nearly kicked him in the face before he saw the little boy had started crying in front of him.
If they got in trouble, Levon would put both of them in the black room! It was a dark room where you couldn't see! He still couldn't take it! He was just young enough that only kicking Bobby in the face would stop his rage!

"Do it! Kick me in the face!" Bobby said as he whimpered on the floor, "If you knock me out, Levon won't be able to do tests on me tomorrow!"
"He still does that? I thought he'd… never mind," Hazel almost forgot he reincarnated for a second, finding the cries from Bobby somewhat ameliorated his once immutable rage.
"Now, should I beat you up for trying to punch me?" He cracked his knuckles.
"I just told you I'm not scared. Levon dunked me in water today," Bobby held out his hand, looking meek and powerless as he reached for Hazel's hand.
"Just pick me up! I didn't know you were so strong!"
"I should kick you!" Hazel retorted before his anger fully transformed into pity.
"How old are you? I'm only three."
"I'm five," Bobby grabbed Hazel's hand before he tried to tug him onto the floor. He was distraught when he realized that Hazel didn't budge. He gulped as he realized Hazel was much stronger than him and fumbled to get off the floor.
He writhed in pain on his feet when he realized that his hand was almost broken. How strong was this new kid compared to him? His pinky was almost touching his thumb and he had to slowly unbend his hand.
"Ow, why are you so strong?" Bobby complained as he looked at Hazel,
"Are you strong enough to take out Levon? He'll be coming for you soon."
"I'm weak. You're just weaker," Hazel replied as Bobby flexed his hand, a feeling of pain evident on his little puffed out red cheeks as he tried to test if his thumb was broken.
"I need you to do me a favor, or I'll beat you up."
"I don't do favors. I do trades," Bobby spit on his hand and rubbed it into his fingers.
"Swear to get me out of here if I help you. Promise!" Bobby seemed hopeful as he looked at Hazel.
"I need you to go to the nurse's office. A girl is there. I need you to tell me if she's okay." Hazel said with more maturity than he was expecting, sounding like a parent bossing around a toddler.
"I mean. I need a bandaid." That sounded better.
"Okay, I think I need a cast. Ow!" Bobby rubbed his thumb as he went to the door.
"The nurse bothers me as much as Levon, so you owe me big time!"
"Just go before I clobber you," Hazel sighed and sat down on the bed.
He felt much more in control of himself than he thought around Bobby. His wrath was now slowly transforming into contemplation. He had to figure out how to get out of here, and how to save Adelaide.

'I need something more specific than that.' Hazel thought with a mature voice inside of his head.
'Is there anything else you can tell me? Like… why kidnappers would take me to an orphanage. How did they avoid my father finding out for two years?'
Hazel sat back on the bed and grinded his fist, feeling a jolt of happiness as he imagined Adelaide. He hadn't felt happiness and excitement about a girl in a long time. The girlfriend who shot him once made him feel tingles of real feelings, but he got scared of that and pushed it aside.
She looked like Adelaide.
He found it funny, but such a thing was not possible.
