Hazel turned to her and retracted his teeth as the blood on the floor had all been cleaned. He looked at the Lamia's attractive body and thought of sucking her completely dry as he had only drained half of her body, but decided against doing it. His raging anger had been completely replaced by the satisfaction he got from drinking her blood.

"That's not what I need right now! I need to know what's happening," Hazel took a deep breath as he heard the loud sound of gunshots in the distance.
His heart kept beating faster and faster before he finally heard a sound he would never forget. It sounded like crunching bones as his eyes widened from the sight of a golden shadow. He jumped under Adelaide's bed and turned to look out the door.
A man with golden skin with boils just like the other ghouls walked inside. He sighed and used his big feet to walk up to Adelaide's bed as he picked up a shard of glass on the floor.
[Golden Ghoul has been detected]
[Danger level has been upgraded to beyond legendary. It is not recommended to confront the ghoul]
"Those idiots didn't check how the glass broke?! Ha, whomever did this probably already escaped." The golden ghoul said out loud with his confident voice.
"I can't believe he had the nerve to come back, though, after he escaped and then took her blood afterwards. The nurse clearly just got her blood drained," He continued to talk out loud which increased the silent beating of Hazel's heart.
"Did he come back to drink the Lamia's blood and have some friends distract the ghouls? Did he kill her to sell her blood to someone? Lamia blood goes for a lot on the market. If that is the case, he could've just called me and not gone through the trouble of killing her." He thought out loud while Hazel clenched his mouth with fear.
"Well, It could also be that there were two different people that were planning on attacking the orphanage. That means the new kids we got in might be worth a lot more than I thought. However, I got a bad feeling about this. If his father discovered it was us, he might open a rift around the orphanage. I don't want to deal with his company. That would be bad," The golden ghoul sighed and walked up to the window.
He looked outside towards where the ghouls were fighting. He tossed off his shirt to join in with some men jumping from tree to tree. He casually jumped out the window and then broke out into a run.
He quickly made it to the scene of battle as he passed five dead ghouls. They were very dead with bullet wounds in the perfect spot. Shot right in the head and full of blood and ooze.
These people attacking his subordinates were experts.
The golden ghoul's body burst through his black uniform and golden spikes that looked like spears shot out of his arm. His torso gave off a terrifying mite that resembled a unleashed powerful demon. He jumped into the air and rushed towards a man with a large pistol.
The man was wearing a green uniform that said MDG on his hat. The golden ghoul grabbed the man in the face and slammed him into the branch of the tree onto the dirt ground. A cloud of dust shot into the air as his cellphone rang.
He squeezed the soldier's head as he screamed and pleaded before the gold ghoul said, "You have the nerve to mess with my orphanage. Do you know how much I pay a month to the government?"
"Sorry, she'll call you. She'll call you. Please don't kill me." the soldier begged with teary and desperate eyes.
The gold ghoul sighed and took out his phone and punched in a phone number. His angry demeanor soon changed to that of a calm almost scared man when the voice at the other side of the call answered.
He was much larger than the girl calling him, but she was a powerful demon. He had to act respectful to her since she was the head of a Mexican Demonic Government task force.
"Hello… You better explain," He said with an impatient tone.
"Why are my ghouls dead?"
"It's a misunderstanding." Marlie responded, her female voice full of allure.
"How about you unhand my soldier and I won't come and kill you," she seemed wildly amused.
"You're not the only one with connections," The golden ghoul said as he crushed the soldiers head.
"I think one dead cop should be enough to pay for five dead ghouls, Marick," she purred.
"I'll pay you, and tell you why I'm investigating," Marlie sounded convincing before she said.
"You got a problem with that? I'm sure your father wouldn't want me to call him and tell him what you're doing."
"What am I dealing with?" Marick responded with a minor tremble in his voice.
He looked down at the soldier and released him before he pointed to the bushes and whispered 'run'.
"I released him."
"A powerful vampire," Marlie said as she looked at her screen with the cameras on the orphanage.
"So powerful he'll give you nightmares. We were trying to monitor the compound. Your ghouls attacked my soldiers. It was a misunderstanding."
"Yeah, It's a shame my ghouls were killed," Marick looked somewhat sad, but that sadness was replaced by laughter.
"How's your brother doing? He's still messing with my sister?"
"The vampire might be there for one of the orphans. I'm sending in one more task force to monitor the orphanage. If you attack them again, my brother will have to kill your sister."
"Wow, sometimes I forget you're the size of a toddler," Marick winced in pain. He almost felt like the little girl was about to slap him from a distance.
"Fine, send your task force. I want all the information on the vampire. If any rifts are detected, let me know."
Rifts were connections to other worlds through portals.
Rifts could be doorways, windows, or even pot holes in the ground. The main thing was that rifts being put in an area were a big deal. Putting a rift in a country like Mexico would cause the Mexican Demonic Government great alarm. It meant that a place with demons or vampires or another species had taken interest in an area and wanted easy access to it.
"No rifts. Just an angry vampire," Marlie said with reassurance.
"You have more to worry about at the wedding for your sister coming up. My brother better be happy with the food you are in charge of bringing."
"I'm a man of my word." Marick hung up the phone.
He looked back at the orphanage and scratched his head.
"Well, time to go through the orphans one by one. If I find the little brat that vampire has a hard on for, I bet I can weed him out and maybe even recruit him."
Marick smiled and nodded his head, feeling excitement and indescribable hope as he passed the dead bodies of his ghouls.
"If he's strong, I might be even able to go against the cartel."
Hazel had no idea he was being fantasized about by such a maniacal killer. He had just snuck back to his room with Adelaide and put her on his bed.
She was supposed to stay in the nurse's office, but had wandered into his room. Her fever had once again returned, and her skin was turning greener by the minute.
[The girl has been infected by a ghoul]
[Death in one day with a 10 percent chance of turning into a ghoul]
[You've earned a map of the orphanage for protecting her for one day!]

"Am I dreaming?" Adelaide was put down on the bed.
Adelaide ignored the screams and cries that came from Levon's voice in the infirmary, followed by mourning and sadness over the Lamia's dead body.
"Did you save me again vampire? Are you really the love of my life?"
"It's me Hazel," Hazel brushed back her hair, feeling sorry and upset as her face scrunched with pain.
"I'll get us out of here, promise." He got out his pinky finger to promise her.
"Little brat, you're coming with me," Levon interrupted their exchange as he walked into the room with his belt in his hand, tears falling down his eyes.
"If I have to beat you again, I'll do it as your little girlfriend is watching!" He lightly slapped the belt on top of his palm.
