Riku struggled to free himself from the creature pinning him down, but he couldn't, not only did his thighs hurt whenever he tried the sharp spikes or the creature in general was pinning him down firmly.
Riku could only try to fight off the creature on top of him in a bitter struggle as the creature started to attack him. Riku realized that this couldn't go on for long, the pain from his thighs was getting to him if the fight continued for long, it was an inevitable death for him.
Just as Riku struggled with his fight, he eventually was feeling weaker and it took much more effort for him just to block the creature. The creature's stamina, however, was endless it continued to attack until it eventually sent his spear flying away a few distance away from him.
The creature was just about to attack him again when a hatchet landed on its face, which caused the creature to screech as if it's releasing its anger.
"Riku, catch it!"
Eliza screamed as she tossed his spear towards him in a way that the sharp edge wasn't pointed towards him. Riku, who caught the spear immediately stabbed the creature in its head, it struggled some more in its death throes so Riku didn't stop stabbing it.
It eventually died and dropped a box. Eliza and Rikka continued to kill the remaining zombies as Riku could only just lie down on the floor because of the corpse on top of him.
After the fight ended Eliza and Rikka helped Riku get the creature off of him. He thanked Eliza, especially Rikka if it wasn't for that hatchet at the last moment Riku might be dead by now.
Still, they couldn't rejoice, Eliza and Rikka knew that now that Riku could barely fight if they were unlucky on their way back they'd meet more of those creatures that Riku labelled as S-Variant because of their speed.
If they met even one more of those variant it was obvious that they'll easily die. They had no choice but to delay their trip way back home, hoping that Riku would recover sooner.

When the S-Variant died, Riku immediately leveled up to level 6 and he allocated all his status points to vitality.
They were currently at an intersection and they were surrounded by buildings and a mall. They've decided to take shelter at the mall where there was plenty of space to move into and plenty of hiding spots, although it is quite easy to spot someone in a mall, it was a risk they could take with Kohaku's senses.
There were barely any zombies in the mall, perhaps it's because of the fact that it was late at night when the apocalypse began. The zombies in the mall were most likely survivors that tried to gather supplies at the mall.
They decided to rest at the food court where there were plenty of seats to rest on and the tables could serve as a block of some sort for the zombies.
Eliza and Rikka made Riku lie down on one of the tables, raising his pants they could see two holes that could fit a ping pong ball with no problems, looking inside one could see the insides of his thighs.
A little bit worried, Eliza immediately took the emergency kit they always brought with them and started to treat his wounds. while Rikka was watching their surroundings for any signs of zombies.
"That's all we could do, I suggest we spend the rest of the night here and see if we'll be able to leave tomorrow."
Eliza suggested just as she finished dressing the wounds. Riku nodded because there were no other options for them. They were eating the emergency food they always brought with them when they heard the sound of someone stumbling in every food stall.
Taking their weapon they waited for whatever made the sound come out as they hid behind a table with their heads peeking out.
From one of the food stalls, a hair can be seen slowly rising up followed by the set of eyes of a woman filled with fear.
Realizing that both sides were humans, they slowly stood up and when they saw the wounds on Riku's legs the woman hastily asked in fear.
"Were you bitten?"
"No, stab wounds."
Riku nonchalantly replied, Riku would prefer if they wouldn't bother each. He was just about to rest again when the voice of a young man immediately shouted in fear.
"No! He's probably lying, how can you tell if he's telling the truth. He's probably hiding it so he won't be killed!"
Riku thought it was reasonable, but he didn't understand why he felt like the young man's eyes were filled with envy towards him.
"Should I show you the wounds, then?"
Riku asked, slightly annoyed, he just wanted to rest for a little while, but this guy has been bothering him. When the man heard the question he flinched as he probably didn't expect his reply before answering.
"Yes, go ahead show us!"
Riku expected this so he slowly undressed the wound. It was a waste of time, but he really wanted to rest and this young man who seems to be at the same age as him, kept on bothering him.
Seeing the wounds on Riku's thighs, the faces of those who saw it immediately went pale while the others immediately puked including the man who made him show it, only Eliza and Rikka was undisturbed because they've seen and experienced worse things compared to this.
It was a natural reaction for these survivors who luckily managed to hide here. They haven't even killed any zombies yet the only reason why they were here, is the fact that they were near the mall when everything began.
"Can I cover it back now?" Riku asked.
The face of the man was covered in shame as he immediately said while looking at Rikka, Eliza and his spear enviously.
"Just give us your weapon it'll be useless for you and leave the two women here, we'll at least be able to take care of them unlike you who is probably so close to dying."
Riku immediately understood what the man was thinking, after all harems in novels, anime and manga's were so common, that anyone who has seen even just one of those would immediately view Riku's group as a harem.
He could feel anger rise in his body as he held his spear tightly, blood lust could be felt in the air. Kohaku who sensed this stopped hiding and immediately growled at the group she couldn't recognize.
They say that the air around someone who has fought for a long time can be felt when they're angry and this seemed true for the survivors as they could feel the air getting heavier, the surroundings of Riku seemed to turn darker.
It was especially vivid for the man who regretted saying what he said before. His pants were wet, but he couldn't even focus on that as he can imagine the scene of him being killed by Riku.
Fear can be seen in his eyes as he fell on his bottom and tried to crawl away from Riku who looked like the devil.
Eliza, who had quite a few points in her intelligence could feel the blood lust, but she ignored it as she herself was quite angry, it couldn't be helped, she felt like she was being treated like an object.
The blood lust didn't really affect her, but she saw Rikka who was trying her best to endure the pressure, held Riku's shoulders and told him to stop.
Riku, who heard Eliza immediately tried to calm down, Eliza thought it was the ability of the mask, but the truth is that it was Riku's pure desire to hurt the man. The pain he felt in his thighs and the desire to rest made him lose his cool.
It was only when he saw Rikka perspiring and panting heavily, that he was able to calm down. The woman who said nothing while the man kept on talking, flopped down to the floor, sweat covered her whole body as she tried to smile and say.
"P-please, forgive him, he is just a kid who is quite immature. We got off to a wrong start, but my name's Sumiye."
