"I preferred to be an educator even before. The children need to have a proper education." My jaw dropped upon hearing his response.
I like his principles in life. Based on what he said, he seems like he is not a selfish man. He wants what he is doing to be useful and fruitful.
"There goes your principle again, you are the same as your deceased father. I'm sure you two will have the same fate," Abel said to his friend. It was probably the reason why the latter's forehead creased.
Letty stood and took the plate with sinukmani from me.
"I'll just bring this inside," Letty said, there were traces of awkwardness on her voice.
What happened to his father? Was his death too painful to bear or was he just an emotional man?
"I think it's better if I'll go ahead first Abel, good luck. I won't be able to attend your graduation next week," Lecio stated. He waved at us even at Letty who just came from inside the house.
"Dude, I didn't mean to mention that," Abel pleaded. He looked like a tamed puppy who was eager to ask for his master's forgiveness.
"Brother! Mother asked to see you!"
It seems like Cade wasn't able to hear Abel's words because of the guy who shouted from outside.
He was wearing the same clothes as Cade, long sleeves and old pants. Even though he was far from us, I was still able to see his face. He looked like Cade, but a younger and meek version.
"I'll give this back to you later," Letty shouted.
I watched him walk far away whilst the guy who came for him was following him. The smile was evident on the latter's face as he was telling something to Cade, who was seriously looking in front of them.
I was just about to ask Letty who was that young man, when she introduced him.
"He is Cazue, Cade's second younger brother. It was Dero with him a while ago when he was farming."
I didn't know he actually had a younger brother. Before, I could only see him a few times farming with his father.
We've known each other for so long. I met him first before Abel. I know that Cade's hitting on me, even though we were still young at that time. But I was so bratty back then so he was not able to hit on me successfully.
I can still remember before, when I went back here because I ran away, he gave me a bouquet of palay. Abel thought it was the first time that I met Cade. He didn't even know that since junior high, Cade already liked me. He might not confess, but I can feel it.
"Brother? Are you okay?" Letty tapped his brother's shoulder, who was sulking on the corner. He looked like the whole world was against him.
Abel didn't respond to Letty. He was probably thinking that he had hurt his friend because of his blunt mouth. We watched him walk slowly inside the house.
I signaled to him to sit beside me. He understood it, and so he sat beside me.
"What happened?" I asked.
Letty looked at me with a confused look.
"I mean, what happened in the past?" I asked again.
"I can't tell you the whole story. Especially since I don't know what exactly happened."
Letty is always like that, if there's something I want her to tell me. She won't tell me if she wasn't sure of it or if she doesn't know the exact and whole story.
But since I am naughty, I badly want to know.
I'm just fucking curious.
"Tell me. Even just a little bit, please?" I pouted while looking at her.
"I can't. If you want, follow me later. Let's sleep first, because we'll go there later this afternoon." She went inside first.
I heaved a deep sigh. I was about to go back inside when I saw Cade with his younger brother.
Although their house was far from where I was, I can still see him. I saw how he took off his long sleeves and hung them on the clothes rack.
I gulped. With my eyes, I traced his upper body.
His muscles were flexing while he was moving.
I suddenly felt hotter than a moment ago.
I used my hands to fan myself. I feel like I can't breathe.
I came back from my own reverie when I saw the kid waving his hands towards me. He smiled and then stuck his tongue out.
It seems like he failed to recognize me. This crazy kid! If I can remember it correctly, he's Dero.
He tried to get his brother's attention, and he was successful. He then said something that made me nervous.
"Brother! Brother! That girl is peeking on you!"
I hurriedly hid myself under the wooden chair but I failed.
He said something, and his voice was very sexy!
I bit my lip when my head bumped onto something, because of trying to stand.

He wet his lips with his tongue. I gulped because of what he did.
"Calm down. I didn't say anything about that. You sold yourself." He once again laughed. His perfect white teeth were visible.
"Look! Your brother is so annoying! He stuck his tongue out to me!" I crossed my arms.
I easily get annoyed if it was a kid who's doing that to me.
"It'll be more unacceptable if it was me who licked you." We stared at each other for a long time before he finally realized what he had said.
My cheeks turned warm. He's getting into my nerves. It doesn't mean that because puberty hits him hard, he has the right to tease me now! But anyways, he is indeed an ideal type.
Just like an album, he's a full package.
We both averted our gazes to each other when his brother spoke.
"Right, Sister! My brother is not childish! He will not stick his tongue out for you!"
He actually has a point. But I think otherwise. We were both not thinking the same thing.
I turned around from them and didn't even bother giving them another glance.
I almost jumped because of shock when I saw Letty standing before me.
"What?!" I shouted at her.
Instead of getting annoyed, Letty laughed.
I walked past her towards the bedroom and switched on the electric fan, and then layed my body on the bed.
"I get it now, Piper. You regretted that you rejected him before."
I covered my face with a pillow because of what she said.
"I am not regretting it. So what if he is a nice person? Also, maybe it's only at the start." I let her face my back, while I faced the wall.
I can feel the heat of the sun from the roof.
Oh my! It's so hot here.
If only that awkward moment didn't happen, I'll surely choose to sleep outside instead of here.
"I won't say anything about Cade anymore. I don't care if you love him. Just remember, Piper, the two of you are not suitable."
I fixed the way I layed on the bed because of what I have heard. I suddenly felt like my chest was in pain.
Why am I suddenly feeling agonizing?

Letty faced me and so did I.
"What's that? Is it real or was it part of your script in one of your dramas?" I closed my eyes instead of answering her.
It's better to sleep than to answer her damn question.
