Chapter 17 - Scene 16 : The Third Test (1)

"Why did she choose that ...?" Arthur muttered to himself.

Lilian entered the aislel to her left. The hallway was bumpy on the left and right.

She stunned.

This was the first time she saw something like this. The road that was traversed was like the path Moses walked when he split the sea.

The left and right walls were like living aquariums. It gave the feeling when she went to sea world. Lilian could see various types of small fish milling about in it.

"That..."

Lilian stopped to pay more attention. The fish carry a kind of coin above their heads. Lilian stuck out her hand hesitantly.

Splasssh!

The little fish floundered in Lilian's hand before disappearing, leaving coins engraved with numbers on it. It seemed like the point value she had to collect.

"I see..."

Lilian pocketed her coins and continued on her way. She counted the number of arrows. She could use it ten times on the target with the highest points.

Lilian took one arrow and positioned the bow before her. Lilian wanted to test if she could shoot arrows into it.

Swoosh!

Lilian hit a gold-colored fish and a coin bearing points above her head was thrown out of the wall of water toward Lilian.

Lilian smiled.

So basically she could take points with her hands and arrows. She got off the horse and led it on feet so that she could pay attention freely.

Lilian stretched out her hand several times when she saw coins glittering with sizable points. So far she has pocketed two thousand points.

When the test began, Arthur and his friend did not specify how many points to be achieved. They only say the highest points.

Did she have enough? What about other participants?

Raaaaawwrrrrhhh

Lilian startled. She heard screams and rumbles from the other side.

"What is that?"

Lilian's horse suddenly raised her legs because of the shocking sound. Luckily Lilian wasn't on it, otherwise she would have badly injured.

Lilian pulled the reins of her horse and stroked the back of her neck.

"Hey ... calm down. What are you doing?"

Another voice shouted from the opposite direction. Lilian gripped the horse's rope tightly.

She had ominous feeling. Lilian got on the horse and make it run faster through the aquarium's hallways.

The clear water around her slowly began to become murky.

The rumbling she heard on the other side slowly sensed around her.

Is this some kind of thriller scene? Why the surroundings felt so eerie?

Lilian continued through the hallways without stopping. Suddenly, something appeared from the wall of water and blocked her way.

Lilian held on tight to her horse when it raised its two front legs again. Lilian had not read about this scenario and that make her bewildered rose up high to the sky.

Is this the way it should be?

"Aaaahhhh!"

Jolted, Lilian bounced off the horse when something burst out of the wall beside her.

Something slimy came out of there and hung above her head. Lilian's horse went berserk and leaving Lilian who sat on the ground.

It continued to push forward past something that was blocking them earlier. Lilian saw the object writhing as the horse stepped on it, as well as the object above her head.

"Don't say that ..."

Lilian froze in place. Pale white objects with patches that she only often watched on TV loomed alive past her.

An octopus.

The big one!

OH MY GOD!!

Lilian was unable to scream. She was too shocked at what she saw.

Was this what made her friends scream earlier?

In the midst of her astonished, Lilian could see the coin flickering above the octopus.

Is this some kind of bonus target?

Lilian, even though her legs were trembling trying to stand up. She reached for her arrow.

"Let's try it."

Lilian hands were no less shaking. Things that were a hundred times the size they used to eat were truly turned into a giant. Her whole body stood up.

Swoosshh!

The arrow in her hand slid without being aimed properly and was stuck in one of his legs.

Lilian gasped.

The octopus's eyes stared at Lilian. Lilian was sure one hundred percent their eyes met.

Lilian and that thing exchange glance.

Holyyy shiiitt!

The roar resumed. Its eight legs stretched towards Lilian. Lilian managed to regain her vigilance again. She ran past the bottom of the octopus.

Lilian noble attitude or whatever grace In Ha had, left her mind. Her sensed of horror overcomes her rationality. Lilian ran while cursing.

"I swear if I return I won't eat you again! No ... no ... I will chew you alive until the end aaaaaahhh!!!"

"What is this stupid test!"

"I must protest when I return!"

"Ow, ow, ow, shit!"

Lilian stumbled several times. She ran with all her mighty.

She run for her life.

Lilian endlessly run while turning her head. But also did not find a way out.

At one point, Lilian decided to stop and point the arrow. She tried to target the octopus's eyes and ...

Swoosh!

The sound of splashing water and the rumble of waves could be heard when the octopus's eyes were pierced. All its feet moved in various directions. L

Lilian's body was soaked by the splash caused by the octopus raging. Points above its head were still twinkling. Lilian shot its other eye. The octopus was getting out of control. Lilian crouched down to avoid being swept away by its feet.

Now, how does she get out of this situation?

She did not find the exit and the whistle signaled the end of the test had not blow yet.

Lilian didn't have magic that could fly her out of here.

Magic was a rare and expensive item in this kingdom. Lilian found it out when she learn at academy not long ago. Only owned by selected people and used for special purposes.

Lilian was too busy thinking to see the other octopus's feet floating toward her.

Lilian crossed her arms in front of her and closed her eyes.

"Damn it! not my face!"

"How can you still worry about your face at this time?"

Lilian heard a familiar voice. She peeked at her eyelids and saw Michael standing in front of her wielding a sword.

"Remove all that remains and turn off the tools around the arena."

Not only Michael, Lilian saw Arthur and the others around him. Michael turned towards her and in one motion held Lilian in his arms. Lilian who was shocked gripped Michael tightly.

"What are you--"

"Hold on tight."

With one kick, Michael leapt out of the arena. Lilian eyes widened. The man landed smoothly and put Lilian on the ground.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes ... I think ..."

Michael rubbed her head before returning to the arena.
