Chapter 20 - Scene 19 : Annoyance

"Have you guys taken care of everything?" He asked as lead them to their temporary office.

Logan started the report. Although somewhat shocked, some of the people who were excluded were not seriously injured.

"What about the participants who passed?"

Marianne submitted her report. "We have some people with the highest points."

Arthur scanned the names in his hand. Names that pass on thankfully were the names proposed by their members, including the names of his younger sister.

"Lilian? She passed?"

Michael tossed a coin in his hand and grinned.

"Passing perfectly."

Michael quietly breathed a sigh of relief seeing Lilian's coins barely get enough points, but fortunately, those points were the last five highest points.

"How is your sister?" Michael asked nonchalantly.

Arthur glanced at him. "She is fine."

"Should I visit her?" Michael looked thoughtful. Maybe thinking about what should he bring to Lilian.

Arthur ignored him and continued their conversation. "Then take care of everything, we'll be back tomorrow. I'll report to the principal first."

Arthur dismissed them and headed for the principal's office.

-------

There was a commotion in front of the bulletin board. Five names that passed the first division contain the name of the only woman there.

Lilian fixed her gaze at the announcement several times. The points she collected at that time were the lowest points among the other qualifying participants.

"Congratulations Lady Lilian! You pass!" Winni clasped her hands together, congratulating Lilian.

Lilian smiled. "Thank you."

She should be feel happy that she was one step closer, but her feelings now could not be described. She had a feeling as if she was entering a calm storm.

"When will you start your apprenticeship?" Bella caught up with Lilian, who had already left the crowd.

"I have no idea."

Lilian stopped. She changed her direction suddenly.

"Lady Lilian?" Winni looked at her confused.

"Ah ... I'll meet them and ask when I can start." Lilian waved her two friends behind.

On the way to the room that was temporarily occupied by the first division, Lilian ran into Marianne and Logan.

"Lady Lilian, good morning." Logan greeted her first.

"Good morning, Sir..."

"Logan."

Lilian's eyes widened. She glanced at Marianne who was beside him. Marianne gave her a polite smile.

"Good morning, Lady Lilian. What brought you here so early?" Marianne tilted her head.

"Ah! Congratulations, you passed our division right?" Logan suddenly made a sound.

"Ah ..." Marianne nodded as if she remembered.

Lilian gave a polite smile. "Thank you. I came here to ask something regarding that. Is Arthur inside?"

"Yes. The captain just entered. Go inside." Logan stepped aside, giving Lilian a way.

Lilian gazed at Marianne who had a strange expression. She was positive Marianne thought to prevent her going inside judging from her twitching body, but with Logan by her side, Marianne could not have immediately banned her openly.

She laughed inwardly. Marianne did not allow any woman near Arthur, including Lilian. Because of this, the original Marianne and Lilian were not in good relations.

"Then excuse me. Please continue your business." Lilian smiled mysteriously at Marianne.

Marianne returned her smile before looking away. They separated there. Lilian stopped after several steps. From behind, she could see Logan's gesture towards Marianne that felt intimate.

'Tsk ... I'm sure they will do something dirty.'

The reason for Lilian and Arthur's relationship getting further away, was also because Lilian accidentally knew the relationship of Marianne and Logan who played behind Arthur.

Lilian told Arthur but Marianne easily dodged it and instead set a trap for her. Lilian clicked her tongue and continued on. She would make sure this time Arthur find it out.

"Come in."

A reply was heard when Lilian knocked on the door. Lilian tucked her body in the gap in the door and peeped in.

"Brother!"

Arthur who was staring at the paper in front of him looked up. His blue eyes stared at Lilian coldly.

Lilian ignored his gaze. She entered and sat before him.

"Brother, do you know that I passed?"

"Hmm."

"When can I start?"

Lilian began to ask trivial questions about her apprenticeship. Lilian still hadn't found the right way for her rigid relationship to jump closer.

Lilian folded her arms on the table and propped her head on it. "If I were an apprentice there, would I see you everyday?"

Arthur looked at her. Lilian pouted her lips because Arthur had not heed her speaking since her entered.

"Sit properly!"

"No, I don't want to. It just the two of us. Why should I pay attention to my manner?" Lilian played her bold to attack him. Arthur didn't seem to pay attention when she was being nice. Lilian deliberately changed her tactics for now

"Lilian." Arthur put his paper on the table and faced her. He suddenly remembered her words last night. "Now tell me honestly, why you choose this division?"

Lilian knew Arthur brought up something that she had avoided last night.

"Oh, you didn't ask my condition first if it was alright after last night." Lilian dodged the question. She said quickly again before Arthur opened his mouth. "I'm fine, thank you for asking." She spoke sarcastically.

Arthur raised an eyebrow and looked at Lilian without speaking. His blue eyes stared deeply in hers. Lilian was uncomfortable with the silence that fell around her and finally gave up.

"I already told you my answer, did I? It's because of you." Lilian looked boldly at Arthur's eyes.

Arthur saw his sister being stubborn. "Me? This division is not a place where you can play and quit as you please!"

"Who says I'm playing in this division? You're here, father here too. Do you think I will tarnish our family name?" Lilian's voice rose one octave. "I no longer want to spend my days alone. I want to spend more time with you, father and mother. That's why I chose this division."

Arthur saw that her future would give him a headache. "Listen, if you make a mistake, I'll get you out of here."

Lilian leaned back and bit her lower lip. "Brother, do you hate me?"

Arthur who was not ready for the change in Lilian's attitude, taken aback. Why does she seem dejected? Where did her stubbornly go? Arthur thought Lilian would throw a tantrum if she heard that she would be expelled.

He did not understand Lilian's attitude that was changing rapidly. Arthur realized again he did not know anything about his sister.

"I don't hate you. It just..." Arthur said quietly looking for the right words to describe his emotion about Lilian.

"Really? You are not hating me?" Lilian jumped from her chair and stormed to his side.

"Say again you are not hating me, brother!" Lilian eagerly waiting his reply.

"Not hate but--"

Lilian hugged him before Arthur finished his sentence. She did not care. The most important thing was not be hated by Arthur.

On the other hand, Arthur suddenly understood how he felt about Lilian.

Annoyance.

Lilian was his annoying sister.
