Chapter 41 - Deception Or Desperation??(3)...

And for once he prayed for his instincts to be wrong. Sadly, that wasn't the case. Instead, it brought forth his worst nightmare.

" WHAT POWER?? WHAT EXTRA ORDINARY??? They're just a bunch of lucky insolents who have forgotten their place. " Dominic lash out without giving Dhar a chance to answer. " Their is no power that is beyond the scope of that fool Leonis's curse.. NOTHING!!! You hear me?? NOTHING!!! NOT EVEN THE GREAT ARCRUZ!!! " Drunk in overconfidence Dominic boasted, refusing to see facts laid before him as plain as a day.

A feeling of unease began sprouting up in Demetrius. He couldn't understand why in such a critical time, Dominic's mention of 'luck ' remained him of Lord Marvolio and how he once defined Lady Luck. ' Luck is the most extraordinary form of power that can turn even the oddest of tables. '

" Really!! Then would you be so kind as to explain how did those kids survived even after taking a direct hit?? And how is it that they managed to mind control each and every one of us along with the fact that according to the mortal world, its already being more than six hours yet they're still standing strong. " Dhar retaliated oblivious to Demetrius thoughts. The more he said ; the faster fear escalated in his heart. His throat was running dry as he couldn't come up with a possible explanation about the on going events.

Hearing his quarrelling siblings, something clicked Demetrius and he began to focus on the group of silhouettes standing securely in the other side of the magical barrier.

" What are you looking at?? " This time it was Dominic who noticed his brother's odd behaviour when Demetrius didn't bother to give his input in their argument.

" I thought making sensible conversation was Dhar's speciality but, I realised only today that in your fit of rage even you can sometimes say something sensible. " Demetrius replied with his gaze glued at the group.

" MEANING??? " Both Dhar and Dominic reacted spontaneously as neither of them were able to determine whether what Demetrius said was sarcasm or he really meant it.

Demetrius didn't reply any further instead, he moved away to find a better spot for a better view.

What began as a mere thought, by now had built up into a threating suspicion because even though Dhar was quick witted, he was restless and haste. As a result, he failed to understand the actual meaning of his own stated facts and that of Dominic's words. Along with that, the unease feeling in Demetrius kept intensifying at an exponential rate.

Demetrius gave in his all but, his efforts were of no match before the Almighty.

No matter what or how hard he tried, under the glaring, divine radiance he couldn't see a thing that's going on in the other side. This complicated things even further for him. There was no way of knowing what's going to happen at the next moment.

" Brother!! Would you be so kind as to stop pretending that we don't exist and tell us what is going on in that brain of yours?? " Dominic said clenching his teeth. It was obvious that nothing Demetrius said or did was making any sense to him which was infuriating him even further.

Afterall, it was a direct challenge to their power and authority with no refute from their side.

Demetrius remained mute. A distant look settled in his eyes as his thoughts wondered off.

Demetrius's silence only intensified Dhar's tension as time slipped away like sand.

" Brother please!!! We have already lost the Shadow Army, now if we return back empty handed then..." Dhar pleaded. No word could express the fear that trembled his heart at the thought of what awaits for them in case of failure.

" Stop wailing like a kid, Dhar!! Since when are you scared of those virgins?? " With a ruthless grin, Dominic said smacking his lips, remembering his pleasures.

" Well in that case, I didn't see you doing any better than us. Infact, you were nothing more than just a statue. " Dhar was absolutely frustrated with Dominic. However, today was unnaturally unusual in every aspect for the triplets and Demetrius could feel it deep down his core.

" THAT'S ENOUGH!!! Not another word from the two of you. " Demetrius barked at the top of his lungs. Fear, anxiety and confusion was explicitly evident. " We have every reason to be scared and worried given our current circumstances. " Dhar and Dominic were completely taking back by Demetrius's sudden outbrust even though, they were still left in dark.

" What do you mean we ' The Viento Triplets ' before whom the world bow down in fear now have to live in fear of some measly humans. NO!!! Those virgins are only good in my bed. I will not bow down. And why?? Just because they found some new hocus-pocus?? NEVER!!! "

Dominic's hard headedness was the proof that Demetrius's suspicion wasn't baseless.

" What's wrong?? " Dhar tried to ask a gently as possible. He was getting more and concerned by the second.

" Replay the events choronologically and you'll have the answer. " That was all Demetrius said in a low dead tone.

Unsettled, Dhar recollected the events starting with them finding the essence of the Eye of Infinity. The more he thought the deeper he travelled down the same road as Demetrius.

Firstly, the horrendous visions of the destoryed virgins that kept blocking them from finding essence of the Eye, overcoming which was a task in itself. It was followed by a web of illusions that ensnared them all into the vicious realm of ' Oppositus ' that almost turned them into destructable mortals while sucking in the lifeline of their powers. Their life-saving escape brought them straight to the mansion where resistance was their only hope of survival. It took both the triplets as well as the Shadow Army days to accustom themselves with the intense, divine magical energy that was guarding the mansion. Only after the Shadow Army managed to absorb that energy, were they able come anywhere close to the mansion.

It was a long, tedious journey and took a lot out of them with end nowhere in sight.

The harder they tried ; the more difficult things got for them.

Dominic's arrogance forced him to deny the truth but, Dhar was no fool. He could clearly feel it within himself. His powers have weakened a to dangerously low level, making him vurnarble and obvious.

Thinking over it now, it was no surprise that the girl was able to read them like an open book and controlled them like her puppet.

Secured by that unique barriershield, the mansion assulted them with no option of counter attack.

In all honesty, Dhar and Demetrius believed the breakdown of the magical barrier to be some kind of an eyewash. Even said by Darkness itself, couldn't make those brothers believe what tortured them for half a month disappeared in a mere strike.

No!! That's impossible.

Adding fuel to their miseries was the appearance of girl and the two boys who were hardly six years old yet, unfetteredly challenged. Their radiance bright as the sun, their pure aura sharpe as the sword and their power unyeilding as the shield. Their unity and teamwork was thing to behold.

What blew them off was the children's magical abilities that facilitated them in absorbing the incoming spells and returned the attacks keeping in time with them. Until the last minute of their battle with the kids, they still maintained an upper hand but now, everything's submerged into a complete uncertainity.

It was expected that The Great Arcruz might make an appearance, in case anyone attempted to tamper with the Eye. But, its timing and actions completely turned the tables.

A sense of helplessness clouded Dhar and despair soared higher and higher because Lord Leonis's curse binding entire creation was given such that the one holding the power to break it was the mythical Goddesses Dahlia.

Dhar dazed the Infinity Being, who was circling the perimeters of the mansion above the magical dome and then glanced at his brother, who was equally distressed as him.

" Brother!!!.. " Was all Dhar could say before The Great Arcruz entered the magic barrier, unleashing another wave of glaring radiance.
