" I have no interest in playing your little games. Nor will I allowed you to mislead my brothers. " Demetrius growled. " Give me the Eye or else you'll meet a fate worst than that of your mother. " Demetrius dropped the ultimatum. Clearly, he trusted none of their words and suspected some ulterior motives. His only purpose now was to ensure his brothers safety and return to the Dark Vortex with the Eye.
Or so he thought he did, squashing his brother's fun...
Demetrius maintained his composure on the outside but, on the inside he was flipping out big time.
It is said that when Death approaches, the person dying can hear the call of its coming.
Demetrius could hear that call!!!
No matter how much he tried though, he failed to understand how.
Nothing made sense to him... The every foundation of the creation was crumbling right before his eyes.
He could do nothing but, keep slashing like a fish out of the water.
He had dug his own grave eons ago ; now it was time for him to lay down in that grave.
With much contradiction, the words that left Demetrius's mouth completely wiped out any of his chances to safe guard his brothers, never mind about returning back alive.
" Looks like you haven't learned your lesson the last time. Fine then!! We don't mind teaching again... " Demetrius scoffed at the siblings. " As for you miss, since you're so desperate to entertain us I hope you won't disappoint us. " He leered at Lia.
Dominic and Dhar once again leapt upon the siblings taking their cue. This time the Eye didn't react instead, both siblings flew off in two different directions dragging the brothers along.
By the time Demetrius realized what he had done it was too late ; far too late.
Now, he was petrified !!!
He felt numb and empty as he fearfully looked up at the entity before him. Icy chills ran down to his core when he came face-to-face with the demoness. A lot was going on inside of him.
" Wh..Who are you??? " Demetrius asked. His voice cracked and trembled as he did so.
" HAHAHA!!!! " A melodious laughter reverberated in the silence of the night.
Melodious but bone chilling.
It was Lia!!!
She laughed in amusement at the frightful sight of the might Demetrius.
Sure enough, Demetrius freaked completely..
' What's so funny?? ' he thought.
As if to answer his unasked question, Lia spoke up.
" Demetrius... Demetrius.. Demetrius.. I heard a lot about you and I'm sorry to say, I'm utterly disappointed. "
" Disappointed!! " Demetrius snorted. " It's you who's a disappointment. " He tried his best not to let his fear get the best of him. " I don't know who you are but, the fact that you're here means that you're a Graudian Virgin. Aren't you ashamed of offering yourself to men. " He countered Lia with her own words.
" Ashamed!! Don't make me laugh. " Lia snapped. " When all you can do is talk then don't you think you should use the opportunity to say something more sensible?? "
Demetrius : "... "
Demetrius was stunned would be to say the least. Indeed, all he could do was talk. His powers had abandoned him for good and as if that wasn't enough, even his body refused to budge.
He was trapped.
But more importantly, what bothered him was how Lia was reading him like an open book.
Lia knew she had hit the nail on the head and continued regardlessly. " Change of time and appearance doesn't change history. And as far as I know Demetrius, you and Kesar Mahal share a very old history. "
" Kesar Mahal??? " Demetrius parroted the familiarly unfamiliar words.
After a moment of thinking, memories rushed back to him like broken dam. Words from the past echoed in his mind.
' O evil soul, you entered the courtyard of the Kesar Mahal and destroyed it. One day, you will be destroyed in the courtyard of the same Kesar Mahal. When that great power will be pleased, Kesar Mahal will rise again. Will take its revenge. This is the curse of Mithili. '
FIRE!!! LIA FIRE!!! MOMMY FIRE!!!
The choas snapped Demetrius out of his toll down the memory lane and what he saw next froze his already frozen heart.
Not only Demetrius, behind Lia, the kids, the adults and the elders were frightened as well.
The whole mansion was on fire!!!
The sight was the same as it was four hundred and fifty years ago for Demetrius.....
Saaransh quickly created a protective shield around them and everyone rushed out of the mansion in panic.
" Be calm everyone, this fire is not meant to harm anyone. Lady Mithili has ignited it she will extinguish the flame as well, once her work is done. " Lia said calmly.
" La...Lady Mithili???? She ig...ignited this flame?? How's that possible, I killed her myself??? And what does the Eye have to do with Kesar Mahal??? " Demetrius stammered in anxiety bombarding questions at Lia.
" Patience, my friend!! Patience!! Time will tell you everything. " Lia reply with mockery.
The only problem was that time was actually killing him rather than answering him.
Helpless and powerless, Demetrius looked at the burning flames when from underneath the blazing curtains resurfaced some familiar structures.
Soon enough, every last ounce of illusion burnt down and the flame disappeared, leaving behind the ashened ruins of the ' Kesar Mahal '.
Demetrius's eyes almost popped out of his face when he realized where he actually was.
" DECEPTION!!!! THIS IS DECEPTION!!!! " Demetrius roared at the top of his lungs like a total lunatic. " WHO??? WHO ARE YOU??? "
He started slashing, trying to free himself from whatever was binding him down.
Sadly, his efforts were futile, which only increased his thirst and the burning pain of his throat.
" YOU DARED TO DECIVED US, YOU INSOLENTS VIRGIN??? "
Demetrius's uncontrolled state of mind made a nuisance out of him. Lia threw him one disgusted look of annoyance and snapped her fingers twice. Instantly, two horizontal blue glowing lines appeared on either side with Demetrius in middle. The glowing lines than created two different triangles intersecting each other forming a hexagon.
Demetrius gobbled like a gold fish, unable to say a word. He looked at the hexagon and at Lia.
' How??? ' Everything came down to this question for Demetrius.
" You accuse me of deception but, what if I say that this is the result of your desperation of acquiring the Eye of Infinity??? " Lia asked coldly. " You forgot that two can play this game. I have given you more than enough opportunities to quit and back out but, you stubbornly refused. So, don't blame me for your own mistakes. "
