However....
" You. Are. Dead. Meat ! " Nitiya growled in a low but stren voice not sharing the same thought with her brother. After spatting out those words at the new figure named Saaransh with a deadly glare she looked out of the doorway awaiting for the next arrival.
Meanwhile, Surbhi and Lia were so stunted by what happened that for a minute they both had lost all their senses.
Just then the grandfather clock in Lia room rang, bringing the ladies back to their senses. Surbhi immediately rushed over to Saaransh on the bed, who landed square on his face and was now looking with very troubled eyes at Nitiya.
" Saaransh! What happened? What did you do this time? " She asked anxiously whilst checking the boy all over for any sign of injury.
Things were happening too fast for Lia to process still, she couldn't help feeling frazzled to see Surbhi so anxious and wondered what was the connection between them.
Saaransh on the otherhand, had a strained smile plastered on his face as spoke. " I'm okay mom... I just lost control. "
' No wonder ! ' Lia exclaimed internally as she looked at the pair with fondness. As the piece of the puzzle fell in it's place, Lia arranged the rest of the pieces herself. There was only one person in this wide world that Lia knew was the exact carbon copy of this little devil in front of her. ' My dear, dear cousin... You have a lot to confess. And I'll make sure you confess each and every one of them loud and clear. '
On the other hand, the moment Saaransh finished saying those words, Father and Brother practically barged in at a lightening speed.
Drenched in sweat, ragged breath paired with extremely furious looks they both eyed Saaransh, who was now hidding behind Surbhi.
Arrival of the nuns intimidated everyone not giving any room for negotation, espeacially Father. It's was atypical to find the elder so cross. And it was clear that things weren't as light as Saaransh described.
What began as a joyful morning quickly turned into a frightening accident.
" What happened Father? " Lia asked gently trying to smooth the intensly tensed atmosphere.
" Saaransh was found boarding high up in the sky without any practice at a sonic speed because of which he lost control and fell from a height of minimum seven hundred feet. You should thank your lucky stars Surbhi that he managed to gain some of his control before touching the ground as a result of which he landed unscratched. " Brother Fernandez answered in a gravely serious tone throwing draggers at the boy.
Poor thing...
Brother's words drained all colours from Surbhi's face." What do you mean boarding? " she asked coweringly.
" He created a small rectangular platform underneath his feet by manipulating energy around him and was riding it just like one would ride a skateboard, only this one was hovering high in the sky rather than sticking to the ground. " Father replied angrily.
Surbhi was scared out of her wits as Brother and Father elaborated the gravity of the situation.
She turned to Saaransh and began scolding him agitatedly. Alongside her, Brother and Father also gave him a piece of their minds.
Lia silently watched as everyone scolded the poor child but, chose not to speak as it wasn't her place to interfere between them. Also she strongly agreed to the fact that today Saaransh needed to be rectified strictly on his deeds as it was indeed a sure shot death situation.
Moreover, as she reflected upon the accident she keenly understood the need to get herself back on track as today's incident bespoke it's urgency. A lot was happening around her and at a much faster pace then she had initially anticipated. Never the less, she wasn't tormented by them anymore because this time she knew exactly where she would find her answers ; the rainbow crystal necklace!
Nitiya and Nakash also remained shut as all the elders scolded their cousin. Although, that was only on the surface.
Their was a full-fledge argument going on amongst them telepathically.
Poor Saaransh remained silent inside out as he was scolded both ways and could only plead for help from Nitiya and Nakash.
Nakash : " Brother Saaransh, how did you do that!?!? "
Saaransh : " I wish I knew that.... "
Nitiya : " Idiot!! "
Saaransh : " I'm telling you I didn't do it on purpose. I simply lost control. "
Nakash : " But the idea is cool... Can't wait to try it myself... "
Nitiya : " Sure why not! Don't come to me if you end up like him or worst in case... "
Saaransh : " Guys please! Help me!! Don't just scold me.... "
Nakash : " Sorry Brother, mind controlling is Nitiya's department not mine.. "
Nitiya : " You deserve it! How many times did I tell you not to run off with your stupid ideas like this. "
Saaranh : "....."
Seeing Saaransh so upset Nakash decided it was time to give him a hand or else these elder's won't let up anytime soon.
Nakash : " Come on Sis... Don't be a spoil sport and what's stupid about his idea? "
Nitiya : " Nothing is stupid about the idea itself Nakash but , now thanks to him we won't be allowed to use this idea when needed and that's stupid. "
Saaransh : " I'm sorry... "
He gulped nervously as Surbhi and Brother Fernandez were both getting more and more agitated.
Nitiya : " You wouldn't have been in this mess if you just waited for us. But no!!! You decided to go on by yourself own, so now solve this mess also by yourself. "
Saaransh : "..."
Saaransh didn't argue anymore. He simply hung his head as he listened to everyone's scoldings. His bright little face withered under guilt and remorse.
Nakash : " Sis please.. You know as well as me that it wasn't entirely his fault, he was only hovering in his room. And believe me even without using his powers at that moment Brother Saaransh would've still been effected by that dark vibe. "
Nitiya was sceptical at first and only agreed to help after she verified her brother's claim herself.
Nitiya : " Fine.. I'll calm them down but you have apologise to them. And don't tell them about the dark vibe. "
Saaransh : "Thankyou Nitiya!!! You're the best !!"
Nitiya : " Yes..yes..I know. You don't have to butter me so much. "
With that Saaransh followed Nitiya's lead and looked up with tearful eyes.
" I'm sorry mommy... I really am... I promise I won't do it again. " he said in the most pitiful voice he could muster. " Sorry Brother Fernandez....Sorry Father Abraham... I promise I won't do it again....Really. "
While Saaransh was busy convincing everyone, Nitiya worked her magic and her first target was none other than Father Abraham.
The elder let out a defeated sign at Saaransh's pitiful plea.
" Alright, as long as you reflect on your mistake and make amends to rectify them, it's well and good. " The elder spoke in a much calmer tone. He then turned to all the children in room and said. " I understand that you feel its unfair that you all are gifted with such amazing abilities yet, we forcefully forbid you to use them unnecessarily. But my dear, you must understand that we only speak for your well-being and nothing else. Remember that with great power comes great responsibility and by using your powers recklessly you will be disrespecting that responsibility which has been bestowed upon you. "
Tears rolled down from Saaransh's cheeks as he listened to the elder. He understood well enough that what happened today was risky and surely he would have been dead if not for his luck. But what actually made him feel guilty was the fact that he was helpless under this situation.
Nitiya and Nakash also hung their heads in guilt because they understood that they were caught.
Seeing the elder calm down Brother and Surbhi didn't fuss any further.
" Promise me you will not do this again. " Surbhi asked earnestly. Tears welding up in her eyes.
" Promise Mommy... " Saaransh replied tearful and hugged his mother. Surbhi also embraced him lovingly. His tears broke her heart but threat to his life destroyed her soul. She kissed away his falling tears and gave him the presents that he brought.
Saaransh happily took the presents and went over to Nitiya and Nakash wishing them a ' Happy Birthday ' as well as introduced himself to Lia.
After that everyone wished the twins a ' Happy Birthday ' and the rest of their day went by in celebration with Nitiya and Nakash not leaving Lia's side even for a second.
Soon the night cast it's veil and the twins went to bed with an exclusive bed time story by their mother for the first time in six years.
In their innocent minds, they were blissfully anticipating their future with their mother.
Unfortunately, circumstances had other plans for them for tonight they were pulled into the future instead of their usual dreamland.
UURRRGGGG!!
STOMP!! STOMP!! STOMP!!
At the dead of the night, ominous cries echoed through out the mountains. Thousands of heavy footsteps burdened the ground and glaring red eyes bore holes in them.
They were coming....
Too many of them were coming....
