I could see no harm in approaching the woman, as she was currently bound and helpless so I did just that. I stood right in front of her, and after a moment she laughed.
"Of course they would. They don't even know what they have, and they are going to force you to be a breeder. You're still level one, and not even a week old and you're already and apprentice wizard. You've even got the potential to be a scion of magic."
"What's a scion of magic?"
"Very rarely a person has such a close relationship with an element that they receive its mark. This is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing as you will be unparalleled with that element, a curse as you will never be able to use any other type of magic. You either through birth or chance have developed A poison core. If you manage to advance past being a magician you will be unparalleled with your element."
I nod as I listen. "Is an elemental core rare? I would share with you the book I got it from, but I already absorbed it into my library. It's useless until I reach wizard level anyways."
The woman gave a sarcastic laugh. "Useless? You've already received the greeted gift the inheritance can give you. An elemental core at the apprentice level? Your growth will be insane as long as you continue to grow, and use a proper medication method."
"Mediation method? The Grimoire did list one, but it was incredibly complicated, and caused me great pain so I'm just using the basic one from the [Basics of magic] now."
The woman shook her head. "You need proper guidance little Yuri, otherwise it will be a waste of your potential. Get me out of here and I can show you the path. I myself am quite the accomplished Wizard, though I do not have the fortune of being blessed by any elements. Unlike you wizard is my main class, how did you even get it as a subclass?"
I shrugged "That's just how the system assigned it. [The way of the Assassin] leads it as a prerequisite."
The woman stopped speaking as she pondered for several moments. "An assassin? That's a rare class to choose. They are not as useful as a rogue or treasure hunter, and most people do not trust them. I've also never heard of an assassin being required to learn magic. Can you tell me where you got the class quest from?"
"It was from a book, [The way of the Assassin] given to me by old pointy hat, but it's gone now, after I read it, he must have hidden it."
"Old pointy hat?"
I nodded "He's a short old wizard, I think? I was placed with him when I was born. His hat covers his face so all I've ever seen is his hat and his beard. Oh, and he's got a gnarled staff made out of rotting wood. It's got a putrid smell now that I think about it, but everything has a rotten smell in this place."
The woman changed topic after that "You do not seem much like a Goblin to me."
I shrugged but did not say anything. I knew she could see it, as my eyes had already adjusted to the deep darkness around us, so hers should have as well.
She finally spoke again after a long pause. "I take it that you are planning to escape from this place. Take me with you, I can bring you to a place that will truly help you."
I gave her a suspicious look as I listened to her speak. She must really think I'm stupid doesn't she. I may not seem like a goblin, but in the end, I am still a goblin. She would kill be at a moment's notice if it would help her. But maybe I can use her.
"1000 coins. That's my price. I will escape tomorrow night. I will free you, but after we leave the camp, you're on your own. I'm not stupid. I know how the world sees goblins. Even if I am not a normal goblin, I am still a goblin. You will pay me when I come to get you, before I get you out of this contraption. Take it or leave it."
The woman thought for a moment before she spoke. "I would not do you wrong little goblin. If you can truly get me out, I will not only give the thousand coins requested, but also give you the means to practice the meditation method that your body needs."
I nodded as I returned to the corner to get some sleep. I could not leave this room until tomorrow, so I might as well get some sleep.
