Chapter 7 - The human slave

As I exited out of the shop, I noticed I had a new notification from the system.

[Apprentice Wizard]

A subclass that grants its user access to magic. Increases intelligence and wisdom growth by +1 per level. This total is not included stat bonuses gained from other classes.

I sighed as I saw this, at least the spell had served this purpose. In my heart I still longed for the [Poison Ball], but I knew that with the situation I was in that it was not the ideal choice. Venom had never truly been an option to begin with, as my strength and hp were garbage. It would do me no good. Even with a sneak attack 6% of their life would not bring about any results. Even if it had the biggest bang for your buck of you took into account its duration.

A plan had already started to form in my mind as I entered stealth and began to walk away from the Library room. In my menu I had already pulled up the map function.

The map worked much like it would in a game. and actually, gave a see-through map in the bottom left of my vision. It was slightly distracting, but certainly helped me with navigation. I noticed that it also displayed the creatures that were within a certain distance of me. The only creatures here were goblins, and they showed up as yellow on the small map.

My stealth had leveled up enough that these low leveled goblins would not notice me as long as I moved carefully. Unless they were particularly looking for hidden intruders. I had tested this on previous occasions. as long as I did not draw attention to myself my movements would go unnoticed.

With nothing else to distract me for the time being my objective was to explore the base of the goblins. I still did not know much about this place, other than the library and my improvised bathroom.

Speaking of, I had overheard some goblin guards speaking the other day about a ghost that would dedicate in the captain's bed. The Thought was scary, who would go so far as to provoke the leader of the goblins? They must have a death wish. I pity that creature when they are eventually found out.

But that is not my problem, for now I am looking to explore the tunnels, and hopefully find the exit.

I spent a total of around 3 hours walking around every corner of the tunnel I could find. I did find the exit, and it appeared to be guarded by two rather observant goblins. I did not dare get to close as I worried, they would notice me.

I also came across a room that I would rather not experience again. It was the room that would be my fate if i did not escape. Oddly enough my map should an icon flickering between green and red. My curiosity got the better of me, and I snuck in while the door was being opened by a rather large goblin.

I nearly gaged as I snuck under his outstretched flabby arm. The stench of unwashed body odor and shit filled my nostrils causing me to vomit a little in my mouth. The sound was washed out though by the mixture of moaning and screaming coming from the room.

My legs shook and I fell to my knees as my eyes were assaulted by the images in front of me. I will not repeat what I saw, but you can imagine.

In the corner I saw a human woman who seemed to have lost her will to live. I could feel from her a strong sense of pressure, but it seemed to be blocked by something. She was completely naked. She was forced into a kneeling position, her head and hands stuck in the holes of a pillory. Her blond hair was plastered with dirt, sweat, and bodily fluid including but not limited to blood and vomit. Her entire body was covered in cuts, scars, and bruises. Her breath was ragged as she forced herself to breath.

I carefully moved myself to the nearest corner in front of her, and could feel her eyes follow me as I took refuge in the corner. Several hours passed, but I was only able to tell because of the timer on my quest. None of these rooms had windows. The only source of light was a flickering torch, that soon went out due to not being attended.

It had been over an hour since a visitor had come, and even the female goblins had long since left. Finally, the woman spoke, her voice ragged.

"Why have you come little goblin? Have you come to see the glory your goblin chieftain has given you?" She spat.

I shook my head, but realized she would not be able to see. My voice came out in a whisper, its sound foreign to my ears as I had not spoken a single time since my arrival. My voice had a certain melody to it, but it was ruined by the accent of a goblin.

"No, my lady, that is not the case. My fate will be much like yours if I do not escape before my 7 days are up... and I have no interest of being a play thing for males, goblin, orc, or any species."

"So why are you here little goblin."

"My map... it showed you flickering between green and red... and I was curious."

"Your map? .... You have a system?? how can a goblin have a system? That's never been seen before... Though your race is one of the intelligent ones... so, it is theoretically possible... come closer little goblin, let me inspect you."
