Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 Master Romeus Returns Earlier Than Expected

It was a casual day. The sun was out and the clouds were no where to be seen. A handsome young boy could be seen battling a robotic dummy.

That boy was Arnos. Arnos, well he doesn't have a last name.

"Pant, pant."

Arnos wiped off his sweat off. That was enough training for today. 2 more days till Master Romeus comes back. He went and made some lunch.

Lately, for a quick run, he would make a quick stop at the small town, near the edges of Lilac Forest. He would get some newspaper and return. To not seem unsuspicious, he had to be Silent User or it'll be weird for a normal guy like him to run so fast.

Many people got used to seeing him around. They even greeted him.

Since the weather was so nice Arnos had decided to eat outside.

Arnos bit on his wrap. Crunch, crunch. As he skimmed and scanned the front, he turned to the next page. A photo caught his eye. It was the symbol of some sort of Guild.

'Everyone please stay alert, stay indoors at all times. The Blood Guild is out for more blood. Everyone please be careful, last night another victim was killed. Only this symbol remained...'

"This...Ghis isn't go-ood." He said with his mouth full.

He was reading more about The Blood Guild when the door suddenly slammed open. A man in a hood came rushing in.

"Master Romeus? You're back already! Why are you back so early-"

"No time to explain. We need to leave immediately. Quick, pack your most important needs, everything else leave them behind!" He said in one breath.

Arnos didn't argue, his gut told him something was very wrong. He took all his most important things like his ring, the bracelet and the necklace. He equipped everything.

"What's going on? I demand an answer."

"Sigh. Look The Blood Guild is coming. The town is in danger, I warned the mayor already. They should be evacuating right now."

"That's good- WAIT but Donovan's there! With his dad!!!"

"They'll be fine, whoever they are."

"We gotta help them!"

"No. We need to go, they'll be looking for this place first. Follow me."

Master Romeus sprinted off while Arnos was close behind. After all he didn't want to be left behind. Thanks to his training he was much faster than before. They ran through the forest and onto a nearby road. Hills, trees, the cabin, the lake, the dummy all out of view. They ran for what seemed like hours. Occasionally they took short 5 minute breaks to go to bathroom, drink water or nibble on a snack.

They arrived in a city, not a town but a city. It was dark already and the buildings were lit up very brightly. It looked beautiful, the people there all wore fancy clothing. Every time they walked by someone, the person would just stare without saying a word and start whispering to one another.

"Where are we?" Arnos whispered, using the smallest voice possible.

"Shhhhh, we'll talk, when we arrive at our stay."

They walked along the streets to a tall building. The building had a sign which said closed, which of course confused Arnos. Instead of going through the front entrance they scaled up the walls at the back. Surprisingly a small window was open. Just big enough for both Arnos and Master Romeus.

They climbed through and the lights immediately switched on. Arnos silently pulled out his tralent. Master Romeus shook his head for Arnos to put it back.

They walked through the halls, Master Romeus not even worried. He took out a key card and opened the door. This must've been their room. The interior design was beautiful but not hurting for the eyes when looking at it for a long time. There was a table, a kitchen, chairs, a couch and two big beds.

Arnos laid out all his things and put them safely away. He jumped on his bed. He was so fatigued from all the walking and exercises. As he was about to close his eyes and doze of fa little. Master Romeus spoke.

"Let's talk now, Arnos."

Arnos grumbled and picked himself up from his bed. Only then did he realized that even though he only stayed there for awhile. He was already starting to miss the cabin and everything there. Which was weird as it didn't happen when he left his home town.

"So whats going on? Fill me in."

"Well.. As you may know the trip should've been a week but I came earlier. I was helping a friend, a fellow master swordsman. When we were suddenly attacked at his place. A bunch of people, all wearing suits and masks. We managed to defeat them even though we were outnumbered, it was tough-"

"Ehem, skip to the important stuff please."

Master Romeus rolled his eyes.

"Basically those people were The Blood Guild. They were after something, something that they thought we had. They started going rampage and killing victims as you may know. They all want something but we don't know what it is. You're in serious danger Arnos. The Blood Guild is after me and my friend. We killed their guys like flys, they won't let it off so easily. If they knew that you were my apprentice. Then... You need to find a guild. Protect yourself and never ever tell your real name to strangers and don't show your identity. Your mastery will also give it all away."

"Then how do I get in a guild? If I can't fill in the details."

"Make up a name. I heard that there was a certain, 'Silent User' guy. Assuming that is you, keep using that name. Instead of telling them your skills, show it to them. There is a guild hall near. Go and sign up into a guild. A guild that will help you. Not a small or big guild but average sized or it'll be too suspicious."

Master Romeus then proceeded telling him some more information. At the end he pulled out his void pouch. Out he took out a cape, hood thing. He told him that instead of wearing the gear. The hood would guarantee no one would see Arnos's identity without his permission. The hood would hide his face completely. It would only show his face if he allowed it to.

"Don't worry though, you can see fine through this thing. Tomorrow you will join a guild."

"Enough of that, let us have some dinner. I'm sure you're very hungry."

Master Romeus whipped up something very quickly. It was absolutely delicious. He hadn't had a proper meal since lunch. Arnos ate hungrily, devouring everything and going for seconds.

They finished up and Arnos cleaned up everything and Master Romeus helped too. He felt guilty that Arnos was in trouble because of him. Arnos told him it was fine though. He was his master and they all had to go through these things, together.

The baths were warm and soothing. Arnos nearly fell asleep in them. He had a hot coffee and went to sleep. He was being kinda stupid because coffee had caffeine and it helped energize you.

He couldn't sleep at all. He tossed and turned, eventually he went and looked out the window. The moon was out, you could see the stars. There was a small breeze and most of the lights were off. It was beautiful.

Arnos gazed out for a long time. Before his energy finally ran out. He tried closing his eyes but instead immediately passed out.
