Raine ran swiftly and slightly cut her opponent. There was only a trickling of blood. Jayden had a poker face and ran to the side. He leapt into the air and threw his 2 blades up. He then ran towards Raine with no weapon.
Many people were confused even Raine.
Suddenly the blades landed perfectly in his hands and he did a quick left undercut. While deflecting Raine's dagger with a swift uppercut.
He swung his 2 blades in the same direction and last second went a slight left. Raine got a bloody cut. She frowned and disappeared. She reappeared with her 2 daggers.
Arnos felt something different though. The 2 daggers shone a bright light and she sliced towards Jayden. Jayden deflected the daggers but they kept coming. In a final decision he dodged and did a flip to the side. Raine's daggers easily cut his hip.
It sizzled and blood gushed out.
"Ugh.." Jayden clutched his side.
She ran at him and attacked him with series of movements. Jayden swept his leg to over throw her but she saw it coming and jumped up. He sent 1 blade at her. It cut her side.
The match was very intense. Arnos looked at them both and shook his head in disapproval. Something didn't feel quite right.
Raine suddenly used one of her skills. She did a flip and landed on the ground. She attacked Jayden with a flurry of movements. Nobody could see it, even Arnos could only see some of it.
Raine stopped and went back a few meters. Jayden looked all bloody and broken. There was no hope for him. It was all over. Then it happened, his eyes went a dark tint. He ran at Raine without stopping and smashed his blades down.
She flew back many meters and crashed into the wall. COUGH. Some blood spat out her mouth. They both ran at each other but it seemed like Jayden was clearly stronger. Because each time they ran towards each other Raine would always be pushed back. The battle went on for what seemed like ages.
"You're strong and skillful. I'll give you that but you're no match for me."
Raine was confused, she was a few meters away when she felt this devastating pain. She clutched her stomach and crumbled.
At that exact moment after Jayden had finished his speech. He had swung his blade lightly. It wasn't a wind blade because it was invisible and the swing was so light.
The speaker announced.
"Congratulations Jayden for proceeding to Round 3. The next opponents please get ready. Lachlan Stammers and Aiden Fall!"
The audience was so quiet. No one knew what had happened. It had all happened too quickly. A few medics ran into the arena and took Raine away. Everyone had betted on Jayden so there was no money given but none expected that to happen.
'This Jayden guy... He's strong. Wait let's see. After Round 3 is the Semifinals and then the Finale. I'll probably be versing him soon. Well that's if I can beat this girl first.'
Arnos grimaced, he had seen Alice smiling after Jayden had hurt Raine so bad. These nobles were bad news. They weren't playing dirty but it felt like it. Arnos was thinking if he should watch the next round. After thinking hard, he decided to watch the next match.
He needed to analyze the contestants. Just in case he went up against them.
Aiden was quite skinny but was very tall. He held a bow with arrows in his quilt. Lachlan wore a robe and had average stature.
Two ranged masteries going up against each other. An archer and a mage. Lachlan must have been strong to pass the first round. The same goes to Aiden. They were truly evenly matched.
The match started and Lachlan formed a dome. 3 arrows hit the dome and bounced off. Arnos hadn't even seen the 3 arrows come. They indeed were evenly matched and the win could go to either opponent.
Lachlan sent out a blue flame. Aiden replied with a few arrows. The flame engulfed the arrows into nothingness. He frowned and his eyes glowed. Aiden ran very quickly and shot arrows while running from each direction.
Lachlan had a cool down so he just sent a few wind blasts towards each arrow. The arrow got cut but still flew towards him. He got pierced almost everywhere. It hurt badly, he pulled them out.
Slowly his body repaired itself, he had used Heal. Such an overpowered skill. Aiden shot more arrows. They formed into a wall like stature. Lachlan held out a blue flame. It burnt of the arrows and nobody was hurt.
Lachlan turned serious and sent out multiple blue flames. Aiden tried dodging and slightly got burnt on his arm. The pain was unreal and everything went downhill from there.
Since the pain was so unbearable, Aiden could hardly aim properly. It affected his aim and his skills. So all he could do was dodge. The spectators were quite bored and nothing really was happening.
Arnos knew what Aiden had to do. There was no point even if Aiden could dodge. The reason being Lachlan was in the same place, conserving his stamina while Aiden was running around. Although he was fast eventually he'd become tired and would get hit. So he needed to surrender.
Just like Arnos had thought. Aiden raised his hand and Lachlan stopped for a minute.
"I surrender."
"Aiden has surrendered, Lachlan Stammers moves on to Round 3!"
It seemed like they were good friends because after the match they shook hands and walked out together.
It was Arnos's match next. He walked out and had a little stretch and went back in. Waiting for the announcement.
"Everyone get ready for the final round of Round 2! Silent Walker and Alice Crystal!"
The crowd burst into an applause.
Alice got out of her seat and shook her head. This was going to be another fast match.
Arnos stood up and made his way down.
Alice was indeed a Maginage. She had no weapon but was so confident in winning. The only thing Arnos wasn't sure about was her element. He had a feeling it would be ice.
Her hair flowed around her, with her robe fluttering in the air. She looked like a goddess, to Arnos she looked like a strong opponent.
"Both contestants are ready! Let the match BEGIN."
Arnos didn't do anything and waited for Alice to make the first move. Alice didn't expect this and just glared. She waved her hands and ice spikes grew from the ground. She was trying to skewer him!
Arnos used Leap just in time and vanished. Appearing somewhere else from his position. Alice knew this would happen, she had analyzed him from the start. She knew all his tricks. What she didn't know was about Force Blast and how he knew what she was.
Arnos didn't really want to fight a girl. It was one of his principles. He had no choice, he used Presence Seeker just to make sure. After double checking he made his move.
He ran straight at her and swung his tralent. Alice formed her elemental sword and attacked Arnos back.
He got pushed back a few meters. The weapon she created was a scythe. An interesting weapon. He disappeared and appeared on top off her and sliced her back. Some blood came out, Alice on the other hand was surprised but quickly went back into focus.
She used a spell and 5 ice shards flew at him. Arnos tried running away but they kept flying towards him, kinda like missiles. While he tried thinking of how to get away. Alice made a box and Arnos ran into its wall. It made him lose focus and the ice shards hit his chest.
It hurt like hell, never in Arnos's life had he ever felt such a hurtful pain. He groaned, his head hurt. He looked down and saw a lot of blood. A pool of blood, his own pool of blood. He pulled himself off the ground. His head throbbed.
'Eh? How is he still standing? Huh guess he isn't hurt enough.' Alice conducted.
Arnos didn't know what to do. He can't heal himself because he doesn't have a skill for that. He had to leave the ice in him cause if he took it out. He will surely bleed to death. He had an idea but if it didn't work he will definitely lose.
He ran, used Shadow Vanish and cut Alice's arm. It started bleeding. She didn't care though. He leapt up quickly and used Triple Slash. She had Shield of fortune on, so it did nothing. Then she decided to use Regenerating Circle. She slowly healed, his plan was working.
He got really close in combat with her. She using her scythe and he using his tralent. She activated one of her personal skills. Ice grew from the ground and formed into people. They attacked Arnos with all their power. Arnos needed to wait, one by one he got pierced slowly everywhere.
'Wait, wait.' Blood was flowing everywhere. Everyone was astonished that he was still standing with all that blood.
'Wait, wait, just a bit more, body come on!' He gritted his teeth. His eyes were blurry. He was losing focus.
'Wait... NOW!'
He used Force Blast. The movements were quick and Alice sensed that she should back off. Too late. BOOM!
Alice smashes into a wall and bled out. She completely didn't expect that and was knocked unconscious. The ice people were blasted into nothingness. Before letting himself fall down he waited for the announcement.
"What an unexpected turn of events! Congrats! Silent Walker advances to Round 3!"
The crowd stood up and cheered. Jayden was shocked and went to check on Alice.
His head hurt too bad. The blood was too much. He collapsed. All Arnos remembered was hearing people's voices and people carrying him away.
