-Next Day Real Time-
.
A notification went out to inform Users of how much game time was safe for them and how much was not. Vladis was cleared for four days in real-time safely with the current setup.
Receiving that information, he ordered a few more parts to allow him to play longer. But also spent time writing bits of coded words in an offline tablet. It was written in Creole since only 1% of the population could read it successfully. Key phrases that would help remind him of places in case he forgot.
A few phone calls and text messages to family members to keep them from coming to bother him. He didn't quit his job still. The memory of money wasting away made sure he didn't. The lawsuit money could run out if he does something stupid and needs to bail himself out. Steady income from his job could not be ignored.
"Ok, time to plan for the future. I know the names of a few people who need sponsors. However, a little discretion is needed. A small ad in the forum should do the trick. Small salary but enough for the desperate. 10 person slot that must listen to one another and behave accordingly. A small contract to cover for the dissenters will help. As well as those who seek to screw others over."
After finishing the post, he logged on.
.
-Inn 035-
.
"Ahhhh." Vladis yawned cleaned up and went to the machine to log back in. "Log on."
"Welcome Back!" The first fairy said. She surprised Vladis with her comment. "Tons of quest are available now." Noin was very happy for some reason.
"Hmm. Time to get started then." Vladis put his vest on while brushing his teeth, Then his fangs. He used his telekinesis to help with its proficiency rating. Already second nature for him, but the strength level needed to rise more. In the corner of his eye, he saw the notification. "Ehhhhhhh I learned a cultivation."
(Blood Body: Gathering Rank I)
(Due to mental acuity of User, upgraded to Rank VII)
(Mana Absorption +1, Mana Output +1, Mental Resistance +1)
'Hah the Bot did great work. Need to get use to the Vampire's low sleep time. I wonder how powerful it will be once my Racial gets past the first hurdle?' Looking at his Racial transformation the thought about pushing quickly it was tossed out the window. 'To many resources and not enough benefits. Questing time. Bloody training area is packed.'
Vladis moved from the window and reviewed the log one more time. The Fairy Noin stood with his body the entire time. For that he was thankful. The small amounts of mana she released was absorbed by him. For now, it did nothing but make him refreshed.
"Later innkeeper. Have a good day." Vladis said nicely. The innkeeper gave a nod but said nothing more. Leaving the inn key. He was heading to the nearest quest available.
"Heh! Not bad." The innkeeper gave a small smirk. In the room were a bunch of Wanderers. He gave them a cursory look over and said nothing. 'So many different attitudes. Some playing the brooding type, and some playing everything secretive. I have a pretty decent server to watch over. But why did he have a fairy in his head?"
.
-Down the road-
.
"Hello Shopkeeper, you look to be distressed. Do you need any help?" Vladis ask the Merfolk vendor. The bright sea green hair looked weird in sunlight. Almost hauntingly so. "If you do not mind trusting a stranger."
"Of course. Some help is better than no help. The name is Rikolo. I heard mention of you. The helpful one that just joined the Wanderer Guild. Not much of a stranger." Rikolo had a bright smile after he appraised Vladis more. "You should be good enough. I need someone to deliver a shipment to the "Arena" for me. Problem, to many people are busy doing other work to help. My helping hands didn't even show up this morning."
The merfolk Rikolo hid it well. But the web ears gave away his agitation. They flutter backed and forth quickly. A giveaway his kind was upset. Stepping back, Rikolo grabbed a few crates and set them down in front. He went over in detail the amount needed to be done for it to be worthwhile.
(Shopkeeper Rikolo's Request: User needs to deliver at least 15 crates in the next 4 hours. Contents must arrive safely and promptly.)
Vladis grabbed it and put 5 in his inventory. It was the maximum amount allowed for his current level. The game calculated quantity for the Users. Ways around it exist of course.
Open a bigger Internal Space, use bags, or storage rings to help. All things that could not be done until later.
"Hup, I will be back." Vladis walked off down the way. Leaving a suprised Rikolo behind. Most Wanderer Guild members would just use inventory only. But the bonus about Rp servers, it was practical to carry it as well. Taking the longer route but more empty route would give him enough time. "So Noin are you enjoying the day so far?"
"Yup!" Noin grabbed his hair and leaned over the side to look at him. It was not lost that she could fly and do it and had no reason to hold onto his hair. "Are you going to do all the one's in the area as you go or move around?"
"I will move around at "random" as I go. But will end up doing all of them most likely. With the Training area as swamped as it is, that can wait." While they walked, Vladis hot marked several shops. Basically, all the ones he needed to go to at some point. Passing each one triggered more and more memories for him. Forcing himself to remember gave a nice bonus. "I can think clearer now."
(Knowledge + 1)
"You are growing at a steady rate. The library was a good place to go." Noin said before hiding back in his hair. "The Cultivation Bloody Body works for killing. But you still need something else for none-killing places. But then again, I am sure you will think of something for that. Maybe the Basic one will do fine."
"Yeah. Cultivating my body will boost my mana anyway. So I can just focus on my few spells to boost things actually. Time is all I need. Try not to get to bored." He could feel the lil fairy rub her head no on his head. She said nothing else.
The rest of the walk was quiet. Vladis taking in the sights and Noin doing her programming. Several Users were made known by their movements and talking. Slowly Evaluation was rising. Making note of the few Thief classes he could make out was enough for him to speed up a bit.
Items that shown visibly could be stolen. Not items in inventory. Vladis was not stupid to think a Thief wouldn't get lucky and rob him. His hand posture changed. One arm up top, and one below.
Passing an alley, a few Thieves watched him closely but made no moves.
"Hmm, I wonder what that guy is carrying?" The thief said to his cohorts. The other two nodded and peeked around the side. Three beastfolk that resembled cats. "We have found our next mark! Set up the routine. First, the honey trap to test the waters."
"Meeeow I am on it." The youngest of the group said. She fluffed her tail and groomed her arm fur. "How do I look?" Her brothers gave a thumbs up. In the middle of her dress was a needle. She checked it and got ready for the return trip.
"Alright, when he gets back it is all yours Persia." The oldest said.
.
-Arena-
.
"Hello, I have a delivery from Shopkeeper Rikolo. I am to deliver to someone named Botti." Vladis said getting the person in front attention.
"Ah, I will take that." The Elf reached from the package, but Vladis stepped back. Slightly offended he gave Vladis a glare. "What is the big Idea?!"
"I am to deliver to Botti. No one else. If Botti is not available, I will take this back and let the shopkeeper know." Looking around again, not spotting the Merfolk or any for that matter, he started walking away. "The Shopkeeper definitely needs to get new contracts."
Vladis was banking on the fact the right person would show themselves. Or the Arena would just take the hit. He didn't like the place at all. The low level ones, medium level ones, and the high tier ones.
A bunch of corruption and a lot of cheated fights would do that to a person.
"Hey! Wait there!" The elf yelled. a few other people started to pay attention but made no moves. Vladis kept walking as this was what he wanted. "Damn it!" Not wanting to get chewed out, the elf ran around the side towards him. 'I just wanted to skim a little off the top. Actually met a problem! Damn Wanderers! To many to know who is what!'
Grabbing Vladis was the mess up. It was counted as a hostile action and revealed the elf's name. As well as listed him as a target. The name was Al Savad. The crucial part about this name was that Vladis knew who it was.
Someone who gives him crap in the future.
"Hands off!" Vladis hit the elf Al Savad full on with a telekinetic slam. "You think you can rob me just because I am in the Arena!"
*Wham!* The amount of force sent the elf into the stone wall. Barely alive. His health in the deep red.
"What is going on here!" A stern voice yelled from the surroundings. Out walked a fully decorated Enforcer of the Arena. No name as that was given up to the job itself. His Level was 5. In the Gathering Realm, he was doable for a one on one fight. But it would be close. "Answer me!"
"He tried to steal my shipment. So, I started to leave since the person I needed to deliver to was not here." Vladis said as calm as he could muster. "Then he grabbed me very forcefully, so I retaliated in defense. Maybe a little to much but I was startled."
The beginning period also allowed the Wanderers to get away with a few broken laws depending on what was said and how they acted.
Some took it way to far but as Reputation built up, several of them were force to pay close attention to the law. Or have a lot of funds to pay for freedom.
A small thought about when the organized crime started up he really couldn't pinpoint it just yet.
"Let me get this sorted out." The Enforcer said. Vladis' reputation with the Wanderer Guild helped him out. If he would have killed the guy or caused a bigger ruckus maybe not so much. The Enforcer did a quick talk with everyone who witnessed it. Arriving back he called someone from behind. "Get over here! This is all your fault to begin with!"
"Sorry sir!" Out came a medium build Merfolk. It was Botti. "The shipment is here, yes!?" He looked tired. As if he was sleeping just a moment ago.
"Yeah here." Vladis gave the package over and then the rest from his inventory. "I will be back with the rest shortly. Lucky I can not charge a disgruntle fee. See you soon!" Vladis channeled his mana and ran off.
Much to the surprise of the crowd and Botti. The Enforcer walked away. Already back to his routine. A bit of code passed in his eyes as he Vladis encounter was stored away. The first User this Nuc came across that did not cower or lost their packages.
A few Users frowned and glared at the elf. Thinking about how they were jipyed, they would pay close attention to some of the quests they had at the arena.
