The female Warrior sped out all of a sudden. When she was a few steps away from GrayFox, a piece of ancient scroll appeared in her hand.
The scroll glistened in her hand whilst on the ground, blanketed by wine red maple leaves, a hexagram appeared and gleamed in gray.
A rather powerful-looking figure appeared from the hexagram. It was the bandit leader!
Up until this point, GrayFox already knew what happened. The group of troublemakers tried to pick a fight with FallenMoon just to lower his guard and then ambush him in the name of a one-on-one battle.
The trap was too meticulously planned to the point that he only realized the situation when the female Warrior used the summoning scroll.
When the bandit leader appeared, GrayFox's heart skipped a beat as he knew what the skills of a bandit leader were. He was shocked as though he had been struck by a bolt of lightning.
Finally, he understood the female Warrior's true intent.
Retreat!
GrayFox quickly retreated backward. Beside him were two more Warriors from his party who were also experts, and without even a word from GrayFox, the duo stepped in at the same time and blocked the summoned bandit leader.
The female Warrior was none other than WhiteNightFirefly, and when she saw the two Warriors, her heart tightened.
The two Warriors might be able to stop the bandit leader, so once GrayFox retreated back into the party, she would lose her chance.
GrayFox was a well-known player and he already had a full set of excellent equipment on him, especially the El Staff, which effects and attributes were still unknown. If WhiteNightFirefly got too close to him, she might not even have the chance to use the summoning scroll because given his skills, him interrupting the summoning might be entirely possible.
WhiteNightFirefly dared not summon Mohai at a close range.
Although the two Warriors that stepped in might not be as famous as GrayFox, how weak could the players in GrayFox's party be?
The two of them tacitly moved up and blocked the bandit leader. It was impossible for them to completely stop him, but holding him back with their lives for a few seconds was not a problem.
If the bandit leader that WhiteNightFirefly summoned was a random one, even with the self-thinking ability, he might be stopped for a few seconds, but the bandit leader she summoned was the fully prepared Mohai!
No one knew what players at the current stage could do to stop him better than he did!
The moment he appeared, he fixed his target on GrayFox.
The two Warriors from the Fortune Alliance stepped up to block him and Mohai responded by charging forward at full speed.
"Attack!"
Whilst Mohai stormed forward, the two Warriors responded by swinging their weapons at him together.
Not much action was needed. As long as they could each land a single hit on Mohai, they would be able to slow him down. Even with that scant amount of time, it was already enough for GrayFox to escape.
[Encourage]!
Mohai did not perform any astounding dodging maneuvers. The two warriors were rather slow in his opinion, and since he had the superior stats, he did not need any expert techniques either. All he did was boost his speed with [Encourage].
In a flash, Mohai slipped through the two Warriors in the middle.
"Well done!" WhiteNightFirefly's eyes gleamed because she thought Mohai would be stopped right there and then.
The Richest invested a whole lot into this meticulously-planned ambush of GrayFox. The cost might be even higher than Mohai's expectations. In order to take GrayFox down, only the most loyal members that The Richest established were allowed to participate in this operation.
Although they might not be experts, their loyalty was not to be questioned and they would be a hidden powerful army of The Richest in the future.
A single operation revealed a hundred loyal members, and if the operation ended in failure, WhiteNightFirefly could not escape the responsibility either.
Mohai was only a few steps away from GrayFox after slipping through the two Warriors.
GrayFox looked troubled. He did not expect his party members to fail to defend him. They did not even buy him a second! More importantly, the bandit leader struck him as a powerful expert!
The timing for that instant speed boost was too perfect. A split second earlier and the two Warriors would have responded by hastening their attack speed. On the other hand, a split second later, the bandit leader would have been stopped by the attacks.
However, GrayFox did not have the time to reflect on it.
In the other games, a few steps away from him would feel like worlds apart to the enemy, but now, GrayFox's level was still too low. He did not have a lot of skills and while there was not a lot he could do, he was not entirely helpless.
There was still a skill that would be effective against the bandit leader and was the only skill he could rely on in a desperate situation like this.
In the past games, he had been forced into similar situations more than once.
GrayFox was not frightened or scared. Instead, his blood started to boil as his gaze became as energetic as lightning. Every single move that the bandit leader made was clear in his eyes.
[Poison Vines]!
He raised the green El Staff and used the only skill that he could use at that moment, which was an additional skill from the staff.
[Poison Vines]: summon five vines laced with poison and attack five spots. Bind the target for 6 seconds and cast Poison. Inflict 100% Poison damage per second for 10 seconds. Damage received will be increased by 10%
It was quite a powerful skill that was like instantly attacking a target five times if used by an expert.
The true power of the skill was the small attack range for each of the vines. Targets who were not familiar with its range could never dodge its attack, especially when all five vines attacked a single target.
The five dark green vines sprung out from the ground covered in maple leaves. The vines instantly surrounded him from different directions and tried to bind him down.
"He can't escape this!" Behind Mohai, WhiteNightFirefly was shocked. Anyone could tell it was impossible to dodge all five vines completely!
Dodging five vine whips was already difficult enough, and under GrayFox's control, the five vines perfectly blocked every viable position for Mohai.
The party members of the Fortune Alliance instantly heaved a breath of relief while WhiteNightFirefly's heart sank together with her party members.
Then, Mohai made his move. He took a big step forward. Not only did he not dodge the vines, but he even ran towards one of them.
The vine constricted his foot in the next second, and Mohai responded by sticking his Black Iron staff into the ground, blocking the vine.
The poisonous vine constricted the Black Iron staff, and in everyone's eyes, Mohai was already poisoned as a green Poison damage counter popped up above his head.
As for the rest of the vines, they retreated at the same time and did not follow up with extra attacks.
"Yeah!"
"Leader GrayFox is awesome!"
Albeit the members of the Fortune Alliance feeling delighted, only GrayFox himself had a bad feeling.
Why did the bandit leader stick his strange staff into the ground?
"What the f*ck? How is this even possible?"
After five years, the famous El Staff's skills and attributes were no longer a secret, so Mohai knew everything about it.
The [Poison Vines] skill might be powerful, but the skill had two downsides.
Firstly, the five vines would not truly attack the same target. As long as one of the vines hit a target, the rest would stop. Secondly, which was a common weakness of all vine-related skills, the vines were easily distracted when he stuck the weapon into the ground, and if the weapon was discarded before the vines reached the body, the target would only be attacked and not bound.
The common weakness of vine-related skills was only discovered by players after two years into the game. Therefore, GrayFox relied on the [Poison Vines] to reign supreme, thus he barely met his match in the game.
Mohai easily shattered GrayFox's biggest dependence by using the two weaknesses of the [Poison Vines] to his advantage at the same time.
I must back off now!
GrayFox was stricken by fear. How was a monster able to respond to this extent? What kind of lousy joke this was?
He was quick to react as well. Before everyone else could respond, he was already retreating, but he was too slow compared to Mohai.
Without further hindrance, Mohai rushed to GrayFox and raised his fist for a punch. GrayFox knew the skill set of a bandit leader, so he knew that this head punch was a crucial one, and if he could dodge it, he would be safe.
Utilizing all his techniques, GrayFox tried his best to not get hit in the head.
Unfortunately, with Mohai having all the advantages, everything GrayFox did was futile.
Thud!
Mohai's punch precisely landed on GrayFox's head, stunning him right away.
[Snatch]!
Then, he reached out to GrayFox and searched his body.
