Chapter 20 - Ji's return

"Grrr"

"Heh what do we have here? You dare impede our path? Pft, move away we have better things to do than play with the likes of you!" Shou glared at the man standing in their path. Truth be told she was drawn to this man, his aura alone was devastatingly haunting. He had long stark white hair that reached his knees as it shimmered in the sunlight that shone down from the clear blue sky, a broad muscular upper body, strong arms, fair skin, and the most enchanting blood red eyes she had ever seen. A wave of electricity shot through her body at the mere sight of him, however, she couldn't let her emotions run away with her. No she could not, they had a mission to complete.

Just as Shou was about to take a step, the man shot forward and clutched her wrist tightly before darting off in the opposite direction effectively dragging her along with him. The group was thus stunned for a moment before the reality set in as to what had just happened, unfortunately by the time they snapped out of it they were both gone from sight. Without any tracks to follow they had no choice but to wander aimlessly in search of her or any clue as to where she now was.

"Ze, take Jun and search for anything you can find to the west, Ruishi don't worry we will find her please join myself and Varick in searching the direction they fled towards. We will get her back, and I don't believe he will hurt her. Did you see the look in his eyes? It's almost as if he knew her." Kirin spoke with full reassurance while issuing her orders.

Nodding to that thought Ruishi agreed with her, he didn't feel any hatred or ill-intentions for that man, 'But who was he? Shou never mentioned him or any of her acquaintances before to me… am I still her best friend? What is this situation? Stupid cat! Slinking around behind my back picking up men for her to do as she pleased.' Ruishi Scoffed at Shou in his heart, still. He was worried as this had never happened before.

Just as they began to move out a sudden flash appeared in front of Kirin kneeling on the ground. "Ji!!!! Your back from your mission? Help me find Shou, she was taken just now! We must get back!"

"My lady it shall be done!" With a swish of his robes Ji was gone in a flash.

The thing about dragons in this world is they held a strong power that none could match. Being a crowned prince made this more prominent. Ji had the ability to track anyone and anything, with or without clues. Because he had already known Shou he could sense her, following this train of thought Kirin had already called everyone else back and proceeded forward on their journey. If anyone could find her Ji could, with that they found a cave nestled within the mountainside. There they rested to await for Ji to return with Shou.

High atop the mountain

A swift breeze suddenly enveloped the palace resting on top of the tall mountain. One could see the world from this location as it sits atop the tallest mountain in the world. The one who resides here was said to be a mighty deity to whom all the gods and emperors would kneel in his presence. He commanded respect and could never be fooled by any lies. Flowery words were nothing when presented to this man.

The moment the wind died down a tall figure carrying an unconscious lady appeared on the steps of this grand palace. As he walked up the marble steps, many servants rushed forward to greet the master. Bowing in a neat row they awaited their masters orders with curious gazes to whom that young lady was.

What is this? Master has never brought anyone here let alone a woman…

This… What is the meaning of this?

We have served for centuries… That cold and aloof master barely raises a gaze to anyone.

Surely this is a dream…

As he passed through the halls, almost every servant he glided past almost tripped on their own lower jaws at the sight forming an 'O' at the pair. What shocked them the most was the intense gaze that held such a gentle look to it as his bloody red eyes never left the ladies face. He continued to walk the hall until he reached the stairs and slowly ascended them.

"Yun!"

"Yes Master."

"Prepare a guest room for the lady and a warm bath, send a maid to attend to her and call the physician…. Also prepare a meal for her." His gaze never once, had it left her face and he did not pause in his steps as he quickly issued his orders. After walking to the master bedroom he gently laid her down on the bed and left the room so she could sleep. He knew she would be out for several hours after he forced her to sleep so she wouldn't struggle and harm herself. With that he left a few guards at her door and walked to his study to prepare for the next set of his plans as well as the incoming guests he would no doubt receive soon. He slowly took out a photo from his desk and stared at it with mixed emotions running through his eyes. "I finally found you."

A pair of emerald hued eyes witnessed the scene and immediately rushed back to his companions to report on what he had witnessed. He was sure she was safe, however, he could not leave her here for long.

"Don't worry Shou I am here now, I won't let him take you away just like that. Wait for me…" Ji thought as he sped his way back towards Kirin and the others. In his haste, he failed to notice that he was being watched from a large paned window high in the palace, the man had a curious gleam in his eyes as he watched the man sped off away from the palace at that moment. Memories flitted within his eyes casting another worldly swirl to appear, almost as if it could suck a soul into those bloody red eyes. A small smile appeared on his face for an instant before it faded away. At this moment he turned away from the window and continued to gaze at the photo in his hand...
