Chapter 4 - Past

Chen Mo who was now dressed in the Great Serene Lakes Sect inner disciple attire, looked down on the guy he had taken the clothes from.

This was the first guy he had interacted with in 20 years, he kind of didn't want to just leave him here.

But he shook his head and thought ' It's too dangerous ', unlike the people that came here, he knew who this territory belonged to.

'I don't want to clash with that thing'

"Stay here till the sun comes up, if you want to survive that is"

He gave the guy an advice that could decide if he survived or not, and turned around, sprinting towards the direction these people came from, not giving one extra thought about the poor fella, he had saved his life, and took his clothes as repayment., that's it, no need to brew a friendship that would just hold him back and maybe even cause his death in this dangerous situation.

In his hands the Eye catching Longbow, shaped like a bird, its lower/upper limbs were red wings spreading as if the longbow is preparing to set off, flying, and the grip looked like the beak of some kind of bird.

Started to melt down, till it became a bracelet hanging on Chen Mo's wrist, the now normal looking bracelet, shined a bit under the moon's light, if someone saw this, they would be shocked at how such a cool looking treasure would turn in just a moment of thought to a very normal looking bracelet.

Fortunately for Chen Mo no one was present to witness such event.

As he ran, Ghouls of different sizes passed by him, rushing towards the screams going on about ahead but not one of them attacked him, as if he didn't exist to their eyes.

Like a ghost, he passed by the encampment, where the gigantic ghoul was chewing at his meal happily.

Grinning in happiness at the screams of its prey, after devouring the prey in its mouth, it extended its hands towards its next target of torture.

As it grabbed the now bloodied elder in its hands, the Night Ghoul started to squeeze its fist, but unlike what it expected the human in its hands, didn't respond in anyway, unlike his predecessors that screamed till their voices went hoarse after the Nigh Ghoul squeezed them.

Looking around the unresponding human in its hands, the Night Ghoul noticed small arrow but coming off the humans head in its hands.

As if it knew that someone had ruined its fun, the Night ghoul started to roar and trash about.

Chen Mo in the distance, heard the roars filled with rage.

'Sorry that's all I could do'

What Chen Mo did could be considered as repaying the favor he owed to these people, without them, he wouldn't know the nearest gate in this plane, that lead to a plane that didn't belong to the land of twelve extremities.

He couldn't save them, so he freed them from their suffering.

Chen Mo started to increase his speed, he didn't want to stay a moment longer in the Night Ghouls territory, following the tracks left behind by the humans, the longbow in his hands, once again melted to a bracelet, to not draw anymore attention to himself.

The uneven land, full of cracked earth and crevices, slowed him quite a bit, but he was used to it, and he ran through them as if he was on a walk, no sweat.

Hours passed by, and the red sun once again came up, but the earthen aura didn't brighten up much.

Chen Mo who had ran for a very long time, had finally reached the gate.

But he didn't enter immediately, he sat nearby, and took some kind of powder from a small pouch hanging on his waist.

After smearing it all over his expressionless face, slowly his face muscles started to twitch, and his eye brows jump about.

10 mins later, Chen Mo was standing there, with a smiling face, that was obviously not his.

This is a miraculous component, he had come across while travelling the 77 planes.

It helped him change his face structure, but his face was still stuck with only one expression.

At least now he is smiling, rather then just having an expressionless cold look on.

After checking his clothes, and taking out the sect badge, Chen Mo finally walked into the gate, the moment he stepped in, he felt as if he had just jumped off a cliff. It was weird and exhilarating at the same time.

The moment he almost got used to the weird feeling, he found himself standing on a solid ground once again.

Buildings surrounding him, and people wearing the same sect clothes, standing near by guarding the gate.

But what truly caught his eye's was the blue clear sky above, his head.
