Chapter 256 - Chapter 256 Toby’s Appearance In The City Of Adventurer

As Thomas awoke three days later he looked around the room at the others as they said "It's about time you woke up." Thomas stared at them and asked "What are you taking about?" Daisy glanced at him and said "Don't give us that, you've been asleep for three days straight." Thomas yawned and said "Have I?" Mary stared at him with a tear in her eye and said "I thought you weren't gonna wake up." Thomas shrugged and said "This type of thing happens often, it's best if you don't pay it any mind." Mary nodded and said "The others said the same thing but it was really scary." Daisy stared at Thomas and said "Well since you were asleep I suppose one of us should tell you that those power module crystals are now being handed out to adventurers." Lily nodded and said "Yeah and a ton of adventures are becoming super strong." Thomas yawned once again and said "Must be a big leap for adventurers to gain strength in such a short amount of time." Daisy nodded and said "Yes but this also means bad things for you." Thomas glanced at her and asked "What are you talking about?" Daisy held up her power module crystal and said "People are gonna start using these against you and if you don't use one of your own your gonna start having a tough time." Thomas walked over to a window and said "So what, that doesn't change much." Daisy pointed at him and shouted "Don't give me that, do you realize how often you get attacked?" Thomas nodded and said "Repeatedly." Daisy nodded and shouted "Thats exactly why you need to use yours." Thomas glanced at Lily and said "She can keep it since I won't bother using it." Thomas opened the window and sat down on the windowsill as he smiled and said "I'm heading out for a bit." As Thomas leaned back and began to fall out of the window Daisy shouted "At least get a crystal to hold onto!" As Thomas walked around the streets many people began to stare at him as they whispered amongst themselves. Thomas glanced at some people and asked "Do I have something on my face?" Thomas wiped his face into his sleeve and said "Doesn't feel like it." As a spear landed in front of him he stopped moving and stared at it. Thomas nodded and said "Yeah this makes more sense some how." Thomas began to look around and said "Someone must be after me." After standing there for a moment Thomas shrugged and said "Or maybe it's just a stray spear." As Thomas walked around the corner he seen two men standing there. Thomas stared at the man with the sword and asked "Is that Toby?" Thomas began to walk towards him as he asked "So what brings you here?" As Toby turned around he swung his sword and shouted "There's more of you?" Thomas leaned backwards and avoided the sword as he said "Hey what it, that sword is pretty sharp you know." Toby lowered his sword and said "Oh it's just you." Thomas nodded and said "I'm the flesh." Toby glanced at the man and said "I've been having issues with this guy." The man pointed at Thomas and said "That's because this man is the true hero." Thomas stared at the man and said "I'm no hero." Toby nodded and said "Yes that's because I am the hero." The man pointed at Toby and said "Your just some delusional fool who thinks he can do what he wants just because he's strong." The man pointed at Thomas once again and said "However he was able to lift the hero's sword." Thomas grabbed the sword off of his back and asked "Do you mean this thing?" The man nodded and said "Of course, that sword has chosen you." Toby grabbed the sword and said "I bet I could lift it no problem to!" As Thomas let go of the sword it fell to the ground dragging Toby with it and creating a dent in the ground. The man pointed at Toby and shouted "See he's nothing but a fraud!" Thomas crouched down to Toby and whispered "Remove the mana from your arms." Toby nodded and said "Okay but I don't see what that'll do." As Toby lifted the sword Thomas whispered "Do me a favor and keep quite about the sword's hidden mechanism." Toby held the sword and said "Its extremely light now." The man stared at them and said "You can both lift the sword?" The man pointed to them and said "The hero should be the strongest." Thomas stared at the man and said "He really doesn't wanna be wrong." Thomas glanced at Toby and nodded as he said "We could do a quick match." Toby handed Thomas the sword back and said "Yeah I'm in." Thomas but his hand on Toby's shoulder and the other man's shoulder as he said "You might wanna watch yourself because when we fight we don't hold anything back." As they appeared in a forest Thomas teleported a few yards away from Toby and asked "Are you ready?" Toby nodded and said "Yeah, but before we start I have to ask you something?" Thomas stared at him and asked "What?" Toby pointed at him and said "I've been meaning to ask but why don't you wear armor." Thomas nodded and said "That's a great question, it's because it's extremely uncomfortable." Toby sighed and said "I thought you'd have a cooler answer for some reason." Toby lifted his sword and said "Well that doesn't matter because I'm gonna beat you this time." Toby dashed towards Thomas faster then the man could see swinging the sword at Thomas again and again. As Thomas dodged and blocked all of the attacks the man stared at them and said "Their speed is on another level, could they be using strength modules?" Thomas smiled and said "You've gotten better." Toby nodded and said "Yeah, and so have you, but I haven't even used my strength module yet." Thomas put his sword away and continued to dodge his attacks as he said "Show me that then." Toby smiled and said "Then I'll start coming at you seriously." Thomas began to transfer mana into his eyes as he said "Then let's see this magical aura of yours increase." As Toby began to move much faster Thomas began to move just as quickly keeping up with his every move. Thomas shrugged and said "Those crystals are overrated, if you can't beat someone with your own strength can you really call it a victory." Toby smiled and said "Maybe not, but I value peoples lives above all else, so who cares if the fight is won with someone else's strength." Thomas moved behind Toby and said "That's a victory when you protect the people close to you, but I wouldn't call it a victory if you just win a fight that has no meaning." Toby quickly turned around and asked "Did you just teleport?" Thomas began to walk away as he said "No but I think I understand why I could never be a hero." Toby stared at him confused and asked "What are you talking about?" Thomas glanced at him and said "To put things simply I take lives, you value them." Thomas began to walk off as he said "You've won this one, I'll see you around." The man stared at Toby and asked "What happened, I couldn't see anything?" Toby dripped his sword and said "I lost, it's as you said, he's way stronger." The man stared at Toby confused and asked "But didn't he say you won?" Toby nodded and said "Yeah, but that's just because he gave up, even after using a power module I spent all yesterday working on he beat me with power to spare." The man stared at Toby and said "But didn't he mention something about not valuing the lives of others?" Toby glanced at the man and said "Yeah, he probably just doesn't feel like saving anyone if he doesn't have to." Toby picked up his sword as the man said "Then that makes you ten times the hero he is, someone who doesn't value the lives of others has no right to be called a hero." Toby nodded and said "I'm sure he's aware of that, that's probably why he doesn't like being called a hero." The man stared at Toby and said "A true hero will gain strength and conquer all, for what it's worth I apologize for what I said earlier and would like to say that I believe you will defeat the demon lord once he's summoned." Toby glanced at the man and smiled as he asked "Do you really think so?" The man nodded and said "The way I see it your not dead yet so you have plenty of time to get stronger." Toby nodded and said "Your right, I should stop complaining and become stronger then him once and for all!"
