Chapter 257 - Chapter 257 The Demon Lord’s Awakening Part 1

As Thomas walked through a cave with Toby he asked "Are you gonna tell me why you brought me here yet?" Toby nodded and said "Sure, but I already told you twice, we're here as back up incase our assault on these demons doesn't go as planned." Thomas stared at Toby and said "Oh right you mentioned something about them trying to summon the demon lord here." Toby nodded and said "Yeah and this time they're mobilizing on a much larger scale, most of their strongest units are here so if we get rid of them we won't have to worry about the demon lord for a while." Thomas scratches the back of his head and asked "If we're doing a large scale attack why did we leave all of those other people at the entrance?" Toby glanced at him and said "If any demons try to escape they'll deal with them." Toby pointed at Thomas and said "These things pose a threat to humanity so don't hold back like when we fought three days ago." Toby pointed above him and said "I'm only level seventy three and your level one hundred and twenty seven, with out combined levels we're level two hundred, we should be in and out quick." Toby pointed at Thomas and said "And before you even bother asking why I chose to bring you along it's because your stronger then me and more reliable then anyone else I can think of." As they approached a well lit room Toby glanced at Thomas and said "Remember no messing around this time, lives are on the line." Thomas nodded and said "Ok, so do you just want me to go full attack at the start then?" Toby nodded and said "If possible yes I want you to attack them." Toby crouched down beside the entrance to the well lit room and whisper "It looks like they're in there, I think we should be able to stealth fully get in there and take a few of them out." Thomas stared at him and said "That sounds like it'll take a lot of careful planning and time." Toby nodded and said "Yes it will but it will also be worth it since We'll have less to deal with." Thomas walked into the room and said "That sounds beyond boring." As all the demons in the room turned and stared at Thomas Toby shouted "Are you trying to get yourself killed!" Thomas pointed at one of the demons with a finger gun and smirked as he said "That'll take too long to plan." As a stream of water blasted out of his finger and through one of the demons heads he aimed his finger at another and asked "Who's next?" Toby stared at Thomas and said "Stop being reckless." Thomas glanced at Toby and said "Your way will take too long, my way is faster." Toby leapt our from behind the wall and ran into the room with his sword as he shouted "Fine then let's do this your way." Thomas continued to shoot beams of water through the demons as he yawned and said "This is still taking forever." Toby glanced at him and said "Stop complaining, let's just do this and then we can both go out to a bar or something." Thomas nodded and said "Sounds good to me." As a demon jumped at Thomas Toby sliced it clean in half as he said "Watch out." Thomas glanced at one of the halves and said "Aren't these supposed to be their strongest demons?" Toby nodded and said "Yeah they're supposed to be." Thomas glanced at a wall and began to sniff the air as he said "Something doesn't seem right." After a few seconds Thomas smiled and said "Walk through that wall." Toby sliced through another demon and said "This is not the time to try and make me run into a wall." Thomas began to walk towards a demon as he said "That's not what I meant." Thomas grabbed one of the demons by the throat and began to walk towards the wall and threw the demon at it. As the demon flew threw the wall Thomas stared at it and said "There's no damage, it's an illusionary wall." Toby glanced at Thomas and asked "Does this mean these are just small fry to stall us?" Thomas nodded and said "Yeah but they sure did have a lot of them." As the demon walked back through the wall Toby sliced its head off and said "But there's still more of them." Thomas glanced at the demons and said "You just go on ahead, I'll deal with them quickly and catch up to you in a minute." Toby nodded and said "Alright then, I'm counting on you to wrap this up quickly, you better not be taking your time." Thomas sighed and said "Alright I get it." Thomas glanced at the demons and said "Come on hurry it up, I need to keep good time." As the demons ran towards Thomas he swiped his sword a few times and said "I'm glad they're just the lowest types of demons, if they could actually act human or something I'm pretty sure I'd hesitate." As Toby arrived in another room he seen a single demon standing in the center of what appeared to be a massive summoning circle drawn with blood on the ground. Toby stared at the demon and mumbled "That must be the demon that's going to summon the demon lord." As Toby glanced around he heard a voice behind him say "Your just in time to see the greatest power this pitiful universe will ever be able to witness." As Toby turned around he asked in a panic "Who goes there!" Toby glanced above them at their level as he mumbled "A level that high, no wonder your one of the stronger demons." Toby took a few steps back and said "Your above level three hundred, you more then triple my level." The demon smiled and said "Hearing such praise from the hero must mean he is weak beyond our wildest dreams." The demon held his hand up to Toby and said "I'll just be removing your limbs to be sure you can't escape." Toby stood there nervously and said "There was no way we could've won this." As a purple beam formed in the demon's hand Thomas leapt out in front Toby and said "Watch it!" As the beam tore a hole through Thomas's chest he glanced at it coughing up blood as he mumbled "That's some strong magic." Toby glanced at Thomas and said "If you were taken down this easily I don't stand a chance." As the wound began to heal Thomas tilted his head side to side and said "It was a good thing me and Opal found this little amulet, if we hadn't I might've been in some real trouble." Toby stared at his chest and asked "What's going on?" Thomas stared at the demon and smiled as he asked "Shall we continue?" The demon stared at Thomas and laughed as he said "A demi human wishes to challenge a demon." Thomas snapped his fingers and said "Let's see who'll let up first, shall we?" As a dozen mana orbs surrounded the demon he glanced at them and said "A demi human with magic is quite impressive, but I'm afraid this does nothing for you." The demon raised his hand to Thomas and said "No matter, I accept your challenge and shall kill you with ease." Thomas glanced at Toby and said "Go screw up their circle." Toby nodded and said "Right, if we mess it up our deaths won't be in vain." The demon aimed his hand at Toby and shouted "Halt, you shouldn't disturb the ritual." As a mana ball exploded in front of the demon Thomas smiled and said "Your fight is with me, look away and next time I'll take the opportunity to end your life." The demon blasted another hole through Thomas's shoulder and said "Very well I'll make this quick." As the injury began to heal once again Thomas grabbed the handle of the sword and said "Let's have some fun." The demon nodded and said "Your blood will mark the era of darkness, and once your gone all of the people you ever knew will be next." Thomas swung the sword and said "As if I'd believe some the words of someone like you." The demon blocked the blade with his nails as he smiled and said "This pitiful thing wouldn't even be able to harm a fly." The demon flicked the sword away into a wall as he laughed and said "You really are a pathetic creature." The demon grabbed Thomas by the top of his head and lifted him off the ground as he said "I'll crush your skull and offer it to the my lord." Thomas grabbed onto his arm and said "Like I'll let that happen." The demon began to squeeze Thomas's head as he shouted "Die you pathetic mortal creature." Thomas began to flail his legs around as he shouted "Ouch ouch ouch, let go that fricken hurts!" The demon smiled and said "You can handle a lot more then I thought." The demon tossed Thomas into a wall and said "Perhaps I'll play with you a bit longer." As Thomas's injuries began to heal he mumbled "Toby, you better hurry, I might not be able to win this."
