Chapter 253 - Chapter 253 The Frozen Dungeon In The Forest

After about a week Thomas found himself in a very snowy forest. Thomas looked around and mumbled "Just how far is this thing?" Thomas fell forward and collapsed in the snow as he mumbled "You know what, I'm taking a break." As he laid there a familiar voice nervously asked "Are you alive?" Thomas glanced up at the voice and seen Opal standing there. Thomas stared at her without saying a word as the icy wind blew. Opal walked towards him and asked "Why are you laying down in such terrible weather, you'll freeze to death." Thomas continued to stare at her as he said "Forget about why I'm here why are you here?" Opal smiled and said "I didn't come here to fight this time, I just decided that I'd stop by for a visit." Opal glanced around and said "Although it looks like your having quite a rough time." Thomas put his head back down into the snow and said in a muffled voice "I'm just taking a break, right now I'm searching for something." Opal looked around asked "Is it something nearby, if so I can help you search." Thomas shrugged and without so much as lifting his head said "I'm not sure, I just know the direction." Opal walked beside him and rolled him onto his back as she asked "Which direction is it?" Thomas tilted his head back and said "It's that way." Opal glanced in the direction he was looking and asked "What is it your searching for?" Thomas glanced at her and said "The book described it as a dungeon filled with monsters, and there's one monster who has the object I'm searching for." Opal stood up and closed her eyes as she said "Just a moment." As she opened her eyes she shouted "I found it!" Thomas stood up quickly and asked "Wait are you serious?" Opal stared in the direction Thomas was talking about and said "It's not much further in that direction." Thomas smiled and said "That's the best news I've heard in a while." Thomas stared at Opal and said "I owe you big time!" Opal smiled and said "Then perhaps you wouldn't mind giving me something to cover up with, it is quite cold." Thomas took his jacket off and tossed it to her as he said "In that case just use mine." Opal stared at the jacket and asked "But won't you get cold?" Thomas smiled and said "Only a little, but don't worry we're only gonna be here a little while longer." Opal handed home his jacket back and said "I don't want to cause you any problems so I'd much prefer you continue to wear your jacket." Thomas stared at the jacket and said "Well if that's your only worry I have a way we can both stay warm." Opal stared at him and asked "Do you have another jacket?" Thomas put the jacket on and walked over to her. Thomas pulled her closer to him while she was facing the opposite direction as she nervously asked "What are you doing?" Thomas began to zip the jacket up as he said "I only have one jacket right now, I didn't get a chance to make another yet." Opal stared at him and asked "Is this really your best idea?" Thomas nodded and said "Yeah, but you can use the jacket yourself if you don't wanna do this." Opal shook her head and said "No this is fine, you also need to stay warm." As they began to walk Opal silently asked "Does he not realize how close he is to me right now, maybe he doesn't care?" Thomas glanced at her and asked "Is something wrong?" Opal shook her head and quickly said "No nothing, don't mind me!" As they arrived at the top of a hill they stared at what appeared to be an entrance to an unground passageway. Thomas stared at the entrance and said "Looks like we found it." Opal glanced at Thomas and said "Let's hurry up so you can stop carrying me around like this." Thomas glanced at her and said "Sorry, it must be uncomfortable." Opal glanced at him with a red face and said "It's not that it's uncomfortable." Thomas stared at her and asked "Then what is it?" Opal looked away and said "Doesn't this bother you at all?" Thomas shook his head and said "Not really, why?" Opal elbowed him in his side and said "It's because you see me as a kid isn't it?" Thomas coughed up blood and nearly fell to the ground but caught himself as he asked "Just how much power did you put into that?" Opal stared at the ground that was now inches away from her as she said "Sorry I wasn't thinking, but I didn't even hit you with much force." Thomas stood back up and said "It's fine, but why did you hit me." As they arrived to the entrance Opal glanced at him and asked "Do you see me as a child?" Thomas glanced at her and asked "Is this about the little nickname I gave you?" Opal sat the there silently in anticipation as she stared at him. Thomas scratched the back of his head and said "Appearance wise I kinda see you as a kid." Opal glanced down at the ground and sadly said "I see." Thomas smiled and said "However your probably ten times more mature then me." Opal glanced at him and asked "So then do you see me as a kid or not?" Thomas shook his head and said "Not mentally." Opal smiled and said "Then your fine with carrying me around like this because of a different reason?" Thomas stared at her confused and asked "What do you mean?" Opal glanced down at the ground and said "You've been carrying me around so closely to you, but you don't seem bothered in the slightest." Thomas glanced into the entrance and asked "Should I be bothered by it?" Opal shook her head and said "Never mind, maybe I'm just putting too much thought into this." Thomas stared at her and said "To much thought into what?" Before Opal could answer however an icicle flew past Thomas's head. Opal glanced at Thomas and asked "Are alright?" Thomas peered into the darkness and said "Yeah I'm fine." Opal began to move around as she said "Quick unzip the jacket so I can help you!" Thomas teleported beside her leaving the jacket on her as he said "This is faster." Opal immediately fell onto the ground and stood up with the jacket on her as she said "This is too big for me, I can't use my magic either it'll destroy your jacket." Thomas glanced at her and said "Just hurry up and get out of it then." Opal pulled one of the sleeves back revealing her hand as she shouted "I'll just do this!" As the creature stepped out from the shadows they stared at a giant spider that was creating icicles in front of it and launching them at Thomas and Opal. Thomas glanced at Opal and asked "Are you really able to fight like that?" Opal nodded and said "Don't worry I'll be sure not to damage your jacket." Thomas stared at her and said "Forget about the jacket don't worry about it if your gonna get hurt trying not to damage it." Opal blasted wind at the spider piecing through it and tearing the sleeve of the jacket a little. Thomas stared at the spider and said "Oh right, I forgot you were able to just tear through pretty much everything." Thomas glanced at Opal who was staring at the sleeve with tears in her eyes as she said "I'm sorry, you trusted me with your jacket and I damaged it." Thomas stared at the sleeve and said "Didn't I say not to worry about it." Opal glanced at him and said "But I ruined the sleeve of your jacket, even after you trusted me with it." Thomas walked over to her and said "I'll just fix it later when I have time, for now just continue to wear it so you don't get cold." Opal wipes her eyes and asked "Does this mean your not mad at me, even though I destroyed the sleeve of your jacket?" Thomas nodded and said "Of course I'm not mad, what gave you that idea?" Opal stared at the sleeve and said "I noticed that you normally take your jacket off before fighting, so I figured it was really important to you, and that if I got it damaged you wouldn't like me any more and wouldn't fight with me ever again." Thomas held a sewing needle and thread as he said "Just hold still a minute, I can fix this pretty quickly." Opal nodded and said "Okay." Thomas glanced at Opal and said "Although it is a gift from Mira so please don't completely destroy it." Opal nodded again and said "Okay, I'll be even more careful then."
