Chapter 252 - Chapter 252 A Black Market Assassin Attacks

As Thomas arrived back at the inn Mira glanced at him and asked "Did you find what you were looking for?" Thomas held the book up and said "More or less." Mira stared at the book and asked "What do you mean?" Thomas laid down on one of the beds and said "This book contains the locations of many objects and spells that apparently give many different forms of immortality and or extended life." Mira stared at the book and said "So you have to track the items down?" Thomas nodded and said "Unfortunately I do, and the main problem with this is I don't know how far the object is not if I'll be able to track it down with the compass." Mira stared at him and asked "What makes you say that?" Thomas held the compass and said "Every time I try to focus on one of the objects the compass goes crazy and begins to spin rapidly." Thomas closed the compass and mumbled "She probably has some damn magic places on each object, so I can't find it because it's interfering with the compass." Mira stared at him and said "If you'd like me and the others can stay here while you go and try to find some of these objects." Thomas stared at her and said "I don't think any of them would like if I did that." As the others walked into the room they stared at Thomas and said "You can go if you need to." Thomas stared at them confused and asked "Were you eavesdropping?" Daisy put her hand on his shoulder and said "That's not important right now, but just know if you want to obtain this object we won't stop you." Thomas continued to stare at her as he said "Okay, but were you no just eavesdropping." Daisy walked past him and said "I best be getting to bed if I have any hope of getting stronger." Thomas glanced at her and asked "Wait were you or weren't you?" Daisy ignored him as she laid down in a bed and said "Good night I'll see you all tomorrow." Mira stared at Thomas and said "I guess you don't have to worry about everyone being mad." Thomas glanced at Lily and Mary and asked "What about you two?" Lily smiled and said "Mira already told us what your searching for, if you can find it it's gonna be super cool." Mary nodded and said "Yeah if you find it I can live with you forever!" Thomas stared at the book and said "But if I go to find these there's no telling how long it will take, what if I don't get it in time?" Lily pointed at him and said "Stop worrying about the what if's, you haven't let us down yet so believe in you." Thomas opened the book and said "I guess your right, but in a situation like this you can never guarantee anything." As Thomas said this Poppy came onto his mind and said "If your that worried about never seeing them again just remember that there is a dimensional door you left at the guild, you can use that in order to go back and forth." Thomas glanced up and said "But wouldn't that bring me back here?" Poppy appeared beside him and said "No, it should keep your last location and this one separate, meaning so long as you don't step out of that door your technically still in the subspace, so your position won't change." Thomas smiled and stared at Poppy as he said "Then I can still see them without worrying." Poppy nodded and said "Yes but I wouldn't recommend visiting them daily because that will cause some serious strain on you." Mira stared at Thomas and asked "Is Poppy projecting herself in your mind or are you just talking to yourself?" Thomas glanced at Mira and said "Sorry, guess you can't see her because she's not using a physical form." Poppy pointed at Thomas and said "Well then we can go search for these objects now and return later." Thomas nodded and said "Right, then we should go now so we don't waste any time." Mary stared at Thomas and said "Don't leave yet, its still dark out!" Thomas glanced at her and said "That doesn't really matter, I can see in the dark." Daisy punched him in his arm and said "Take a hint, she's worried she won't see you for a while." Thomas glanced at Daisy and said "Yeah I guess that makes more sense." Mary held onto Thomas's jacket and said "You should stay here with us for tonight." Thomas smiled and said "Okay, I'll stay here for tonight." Once everyone fell asleep Thomas sat up and said "I said I'd stay here for tonight but I'd much prefer I get this over with as soon as possible." Thomas glanced at the others who were laying beside him as he mumbled "I still don't understand why they all crawl into my bed." Thomas sighed and said "I'll never understand people." Thomas stood up and snuck over to the window as he glanced at them and said "Sorry you won't get the chance to say goodbye." Thomas Leapt our of the window as he said "I'll be back soon." Thomas began to dash through the streets as he said "Let's see the book said to go north of this city and to avoid all paths until I come across-" Before he could finish talking a dagger landed in front of Thomas in the ground. As he stopped and glanced at it he mumbled "I don't think I made anyone in this city mad." As a shadowy figure walked out from alley way he stared at Thomas and said "Your instincts are sharp, had you taken another few steps you wouldn't be alive right now." Thomas crouched down to the dagger and said "No you threw it like that on purpose so you could sound cool." The man held a dagger near his face and said "Of course I didn't, you were just able to stop before it could reach you." Thomas picked up the dagger and said "Sure whatever you say." The man tossed the dagger in his hand at Thomas and said "Tch, such insolence won't be tolerated, now sit still and let me claim your head as well as your bounty." Thomas threw the dagger he was holding at the dagger being thrown at him as he said "No thanks, I'm kinda busy right now." The daggers both flew past Thomas and the man as he said "You don't have a choice in the matter, it's die quickly or slowly, you've already made that choice clear though." The man pulled out another six daggers and held three in each of his hands as he smiled and said "You won't be able to do anything about this, so sit still and make this easier on me." Thomas stood there and said "I'll just wait for you to take aim then." The man tossed the daggers and shouted "Watch your mouth, your talking to an elite assassin." Thomas teleported in between each of the daggers as he asked "Is this really all you can do?" The man smiled and said "I see your bounty isn't just for show." Thomas teleported behind him and continued to run as he said "I'll deal with you later, I don't wanna be around when they wake up, I already know they're gonna be upset that I didn't say goodbye!" The man turned towards Thomas and began to chase him while throwing daggers as he shouted "Your not going anywhere but hell." Thomas continued to teleport in between the daggers as he asked "How many of those do you have?" The man continued to throw them as he shouted "Thats none of your business, so just die already!" Thomas stopped running and turned around as he asked "Is there anyway I can convince you to give up?" The man threw another dagger at Thomas as he shouted "The elite don't run away from a little challenge." Thomas caught the dagger by the handle and said "I'm not some little challenge, and if you don't walk away you might not be able to walk later." The man reached for another dagger and said "Like I'll back down on an easy one hundred gold coins." Thomas tossed the dagger into his knee and began to walk towards him. As the man fell to the ground holding his knee and screaming Thomas said "Maybe I need to make things just a little bit more clear for you, if you don't leave now, you won't be moving from this spot until someone carries you away, and they'll probably be taking you to a hospital." The man glanced at Thomas and said "I couldn't even see it." Thomas grabbed the dagger and ripped it out of his knee as he smiled sinisterly and said "Take your leave now or I'll do the same to your other knee." The man nodded and said "Alright, just don't kill me." Thomas tossed the dagger into a nearby wall and said "I appreciate your cooperation." The man stared at the dagger and mumbled "He's throwing with an incredible amount of force." As Thomas began to walk away he mumbled "Right, now back to finding that thing."
