Chapter 179 - Chapter 179 A Sky Battle With A Roc

As they left the inn Toby stared at Thomas and asked "Where to?" Thomas glanced at him and said "But I thought you were gonna take us to it?" Toby shook his head and said "Nope, I wanted you to sniff it out." Scarlett glared at Toby and said "He isn't some sort of animal you can rely on to find what your searching for." Thomas glanced at Scarlett and said "It's nothing to get worked up about, but there is a problem with his plan." Toby stared at Thomas and asked "What's the problem?" Scarlett stared at Thomas and said "He isn't able to find its scent because he doesn't know it." Scarlett stared at Toby and angrily said "If your going to use someone you should at least know what they can and can't do." Thomas held his hand out as he said "I do have another way to find it though." As the compass appeared in his hand Toby grabbed it and began to stare at it. Toby glanced at Thomas and asked "What are we going to do with a broken compass." Scarlett snatched the compass from Toby and said "It's a magical compass, when supplied with mana it will lead us to what we're searching for." As the compass pointed west Toby glanced at Thomas and asked "Does she hate me?" Thomas shrugged and said "Beats me." Scarlett handed Thomas the compass and said "We'll follow behind you." Thomas stared at the compass and said "Alright." As Thomas walked out of the building Toby stared at Scarlett and asked "Why are you against me?" Scarlett glared at him and said "You nearly killed him, you caused him to lose his eye, and after all of that you proceeded to try and use him." As Scarlett walked away Toby glanced at her and asked "How am I responsible for his eye?" Scarlett turned around and glared at him as she said "You summoned that damn goddess." Toby stood there silently for a few moments as he said "I couldn't have possibly known a goddess would summon." Scarlett glanced at him for a moment and walked out of the building. As Thomas glanced at her he asked "What took you so long?" Scarlett glanced at him and said "It was nothing." As Toby walked out of the building he glanced at Scarlett and then at Thomas saying absolutely nothing. Scarlett stared at Thomas and said "We're Ready to go." Thomas continued to stare at the compass as he said "Aright then let's get a move on." As they all followed the compass silently Thomas glanced back at them and asked "Why are you guys so quiet?" Scarlett glanced at Toby and said "It's nothing, we're just mentally preparing ourselves for the fight." Thomas looked up into the sky and said "Well alright then." As Thomas noticed something in the sky he stopped moving and put the compass back in the subspace as he said "Looks like we found it." Toby looked up into the sky and said "It's huge." Thomas glanced at him and said "I can't teleport to it, it's too far and moving too fast." Scarlett glanced at Thomas and said "I can fly you closer if you'd like." Thomas glanced at Toby and said "I have my plan of attack, what about you?" Toby glanced at Scarlett and said "I'll hit when you knock it down." Scarlett walked towards Thomas and said "We can kill it before it even hits the ground." As Scarlett picked Thomas up and began to fly away he glanced at her and asked "Is something up with you two?" Scarlett glanced back at Toby and asked "Why would you think such a thing?" Thomas shrugged and said "Well you've been keeping an eye on him this whole time and you don't really seem especially happy to see him, which is understandable I guess." Scarlett stared at the Roc and said "It's all in your head there is nothing going on between us." As they gotten closer to the Roc Thomas said "Well whatever it is feel free to talk to me, I'm willing to listen." As Thomas vanished and appeared on the Roc Scarlett mumbled "I don't understand how you can be so friendly with someone who nearly killed you." As Thomas grabbed into the Roc's back he shouted "Its moving a lot faster then I thought." Thomas began to climb towards the head of the creature as he said "All I have to do is knock you out of the sky, piece of cake." As Scarlett flew beside the bird Thomas glanced at her and shouted "You can keep up with it?" Scarlett nodded and shouted "I wasn't just sitting around while you were getting stronger." Thomas stared at her and asked "Were you using Ocis's methods?" Scarlett nodded and said "I was but now isn't the best time for this conversation." Thomas reaches for his sword and unsheathed it as he said "Yeah I guess your right." As he shoved the sword into the Roc's back he shouted "Try to attack the wing!" Scarlett nodded and stopped moving as she held her hand towards the bird and shouted "Solar ray!" As a beam of light shot out of her hand took the Roc's wing off Thomas glanced at Scarlett as the Roc began to fall to the ground and shouted "I wish you would've told me about you having that move before I got on this thing!" Scarlett began to dive after the Roc as she held out her hand and shouted "Grab on to me." Thomas let go of his sword and began to reach for Scarlett's hand as he shouted "Not be pushy or anything but please try to hurry, the ground is approaching way quicker then I'd like!" As Scarlett grabbed his hand she began to slow down as she said "You can relax now I got you." As Scarlett pulled Thomas up and wrapped her arms around him she said "You can relax now, the hard part is done." As they landed Scarlett continued to hold onto Thomas as he asked "Why are you still holding onto me?" As Scarlett let go of him she said "I almost gotten you killed because I didn't think ahead." Thomas shrugged and said "It worked out in the end so who cares." Scarlett stared at Thomas and asked "Is that why you ignore that Toby almost killed you?" Thomas glanced at her and asked "Is that why you've been acting odd?" Scarlett glared at Toby and said "If you must know yes I'm still quite upset about the trouble he's caused us." Thomas glanced at Toby and said "Didn't you say you'd kill it once it hit the ground?" As the Roc stood up and flapped its wing slice marks began to appear in the ground. As Toby ran towards the Roc with his sword he shouted "Right, I still have to kill it!" Thomas glanced at Scarlett and said "That's fine if you still don't forgive him, I can't say I really blame you but he is ten times more likely to save this world from the demon lord then anyone else I know, so who cares so long as he deals with the big problem here and saves us all some time." Scarlett sighed and said "I understand your view however I don't think I'd ever be able to forgive him as easily as you." As they glanced back at Toby he was standing on top of the Roc with beaten up and tattered armor. As he hopped off the Rod's back he shouted "Let's go, I just got another level!" Thomas glanced at him and said "Your right your level thirty seven now if I'm not mistaken you went up by nine levels." Toby stared at Thomas and said "Yeah but you went up twelve since I've seen you." Scarlett stared at Thomas and asked "What are you two talking about?" Thomas pointed above his head and said "For some reason he's able to see something called levels above our heads however I'm only able to see it above him." Toby nodded and said "Yup, and by the looks of it your actually stronger then me right now." Thomas glanced at Toby and said "You said I gained twelve, right?" Toby nodded and said "Yeah that makes you level fifty two!" Scarlett stared at Toby and asked "What's a level?" Thomas glanced at Scarlett and said "It's basically a number to signify your strength." Scarlett stared at Toby and smirked as she said "I'd I'm not mistaken you said I was stronger then you." Toby stared at her and said "Don't get a big head, and remember I said for now." Toby stared at the body of the Roc and said "Well ignoring this conversation how are we gonna move this thing to the village, the quest was for it's feathers and meat." Thomas held his hands towards the Roc's body and wing as he said "That part is way raiser then killing it." As the body vanished Toby glanced at Thomas and said "You can transfer those huge things?" Thomas nodded and said "Ya and its a lot easier then dragging it."
