As the next day came Thomas woke up and glanced at the window. Lily who was observing the map stared at him and said "I'm planning where we should go next since this town is so dangerous." Thomas stared at her confused as he said "But we just got here." Lily sighed and said "That's the problem, we just got here and you nearly died." Thomas stood up and walked towards the window as he said "I'm gonna head out for a bit." Lily glanced at him and said "If your gonna leave do it like a normal person and use the door." Thomas opened the window and said "Doing things like a normal person just isn't my style." Lily rolled the map up and handed it to Thomas as she said "If your heading out I'm going with you." Thomas stared at her and asked "Do you think I'm gonna get into another fight?" Lily nodded as Thomas sighed and said "You can trust me at least a little more then that." Lily stared at him and said "Besides I'm a kid you can't just expect me to wander around an unknown town by myself." Thomas picked her up and said "Well whatever with me or not I'm still leaving through the window." As Thomas jumped out of the window Lily held onto Thomas and said "No wait don't go out the window." Once Thomas and Lily landed Lily glanced at him and said "You could at least give me a warning." Thomas set her down and sarcastically said "I'll keep that in mind next time I'm gonna jump out of a window." Lily glared at Thomas and said "Next time you try something like that I'll make sure your slave seal barbecues you." Thomas stood there listening to her complain as he stepped out of the way of a sword. Thomas stared at the person and seen that it was the same lady from yesterday. Lily stared at her and said "If your gonna try and kill him at least wait until I'm done disciplining him." Thomas glanced at Lily and said "It's only discipline if I actually reflect on what I've done." The lady turned to Thomas with her sword and said "You got lucky yesterday and after hearing about my allies encounter with you I know that you can't make me sink into the ground if I'm constantly moving." Thomas turned and stared at her as he said "I told you that you were lucky yesterday, but today I won't hesitate to kill you so choose what you do next carefully." Lily stared at Thomas and said "Don't kill her, we both know that you will and once you do you'll just regret it." Thomas glanced at Lily and said nothing as the lady swung her sword at Thomas. The lady stopped the sword just before hitting Thomas as she said "You also can't use that spell if you aren't touching the ground." Thomas stared at her and pushed the sword out of his face as he asked "Why are you following me?" She glared at Thomas and put her sword back to his chest as she said "Your probably the demi human faction's leader so if we kill you it clears up all of our problems with their guild." Thomas stared at her annoyed as he said "If your gonna attempt to kill me at least explain whatever a guild is and what the demi human faction is." She glared at Thomas and shouted "Stop playing dumb and admit your role as their leader." Lily glanced at Thomas who was getting more and more annoyed as she said "If you kill her it will just cause more problems." Thomas pushes the sword away once more as he said "I don't know what you're talking about so I'll be on my way." She glared at Thomas and swung her sword towards his throat as she shouted "If you won't comply I'll just kill you and find out myself." Thomas ducked under the blade and grabbed her by the throat as he said "If I let go your going to explain to me what guilds are and why you want to kill me, understand?" She slowly nodded as Thomas dropped her to the ground and said "Start explaining, try anything and I'll kill you where you stand." As she gasped for air she muttered "Guilds are bonds among people, much like a team." As she stood up she said "Guilds have a designated living quarters and they all work together." Thomas stared at her and said "That clears up what a guild is now tell me why do you want me dead." As she put the sword back to Thomas's chest she said "You are apart of the demi human faction, and recently they've been trying to take over this whole town." Thomas turned around and began to walk away as he said "That's all I wanted to know now beat it before I decide that killing you would be easier." Lily stared at the lady and apologized as she said "I'm sorry but we're just tourists, he's normally a lot nicer and I don't think he'd kill you." Lily stared at her for a few seconds and said "Forget that last part but he really is a nice person once you get to know him." The lady stared at Lily and said "Tourists?" Lily nodded and said "We've actually been traveling for a while and ever since we've gotten into this town he's been attacked." The lady glanced at Thomas and said "Then I owe him an apology for confusing him with our enemy." Lily stared at her and quickly said "I wouldn't do that right now, I'd give him a few minutes before approaching him." The lady nodded and said "I will tell the people of my guild that he is no threat and to ignore combat with him." Lily thanked her and said "I should be going now." Lily turned towards Thomas who was walking away as she sighed and said "If I hadn't come along he would've just killed her." Lily began o chase after him as she mumbled "We won't be able to leave him alone in this town at this rate." Lily ran ahead of Thomas and asked "So where are you going?" Thomas glanced at her and said "I got a few more spells I'd like to test out." Lily stared at him excitedly and asked "What kind of spells did you learn?" Thomas glanced at her and said "They're not exactly the coolest spells." Lily stood their excitedly as she said "Magic is always cool, come on you have to show me!" Thomas shrugged and said "Alright but don't complain when the spells are boring." Thomas put his hand on Lily's head and said "Teleportation magic should take us to where I need to be." As they teleported to open field Thomas took his hand off of her head and said "Now I can test this rather easily." Thomas reached into his satchel and pulled out a seed as he said "This spell is more of an agricultural one so I made sure to buy a carrot seed." Thomas closed his eyes and began to focus his mana into the seed. Lily stared at the seed as she asked "What does the spell do?" Thomas smiled and said "This isn't exactly an easy spell to pull of and it consumes a lot of mana but it is useful." Lily stared at the seed as it slowly grew into a carrot right in front of her. Thomas held up the carrot and said "Just one of these seeds used more then half of my mana." Lily grabbed the carrot and asked "Where did you learn to do something like this?" Thomas pulled out a book and said "I bought it when I was with Ocis and I've been reading some of the spells in it." Lily stared at the book and asked "Why do you need a book that helps with everyday life?" Thomas shrugged and said "It was pretty helpful I suppose." Lily sighed and said "If you were gonna but a spell book you should've gotten a super cool one, not some lame one that only speeds up plant growth." Thomas shrugged and said "I'm sure it'll be helpful eventually." Lily sighed and said "Well you've already bought the book so you might as well learn all of the spells in it." Thomas put his hand back on her head and said "So what if it's useless or not at least using mana makes the user stronger." Thomas smiles and said "If I use this kind of magic everyday I'll just get stronger." As they teleported back to the inn Lily said "Your gonna get stronger by doing dumb everyday stuff." Thomas stared at her and said "Please don't call it dumb, I actually spent time on learning how to use that plant one." Lily stared at him and said "Don't fell me you wasted time learning how to grow plants instantly." Thomas sighed and said "Unfortunately that spell took me all yesterday to learn." Lily turned away and said "At this point I'm not even surprised that your toughest spell is the most useless."
