As the time for the banquet arrived Thomas laid their on the bed and asked "Do we really have to go?" Lily stared at him and said "We get invited to the castle by the new king and you'd rather not go." Thomas sat up and said "Maybe you forgot why they got a new king." Scarlett glanced at Thomas and said "I see your point but the prince also didn't want a war and would've tried to kill the king if you hadn't succeeded." Thomas sighed and said "I don't see why we have to go." Lily glared at him and said "We've been invited by the prince we can't refuse." Thomas stared at her and said "It was technically by the king and you weren't invited, I was." Daisy stared at him and said "But he said that you could bring whoever you wanted." Thomas stood up and said "If we are going in at least gonna fix my jacket." Scarlett glanced at Thomas and asked "Wouldn't it be easier to make a new one?" Thomas glanced at her and said "I suppose your right." Thomas stared at his tattered jacket and tossed it aside as he said "I guess I'll just make a new one." Lily and the others walked towards the door and said "We'll be waiting for you at the castle." Thomas watched as they left and said "What kind of fabric should I use?" Thomas reaches into his bag and said "What do I have to work with?" As Thomas pulled his hand out with the wolf pelt in hand he sighed and said "Guess this is all I really got." Thomas peered out the window and said "Purple and black are nice but I'm sure I can make something even better." Thomas glanced at the door and said "I could leave through the door but leaving through the window just seems more like me." Thomas dashed towards the open window and jumped out of it as he said "I can use the wolf's pelt to make the rim of the hood super soft." As Thomas landed he said "Unfortunately I have to make sure the fabric goes well with a white gray color." Thomas smiled and said "I got time to go shopping for fabrics and make something out of it." As the time for the banquet grew closer the others waited outside of the building patiently wondering what it would be like. As they sat their talking Thomas appeared in front of them in a white jacket and asked "Am I late?" They all turned and stared at him as they said "Actually your a few minutes early." Scarlett stared at him and said "I thought you would've stuck to dark colors." Thomas stared at her and said "I honestly should've stuck with dark colors, because after I made it I realized that it would probably get stained red." Lily glared at him and asked "Why would it get stained red?" Thomas glanced at her and said "Well as an adventure we work a massy job so by the time we finish a job it'll be stained red." Thomas turned and stared at the castle as he said "I'm gonna head in, I'll see you all on the inside." They all watched as Thomas vanished and asked "Wasn't he going to show us around?" As Thomas appeared in the throne room all the guards raised spears to Thomas and shouted "How to you get in here." The prince waved his hand and said "Lower your weapons he is a guest." The prince stood up and stared at him and said "Good we've been awaiting your arrival." The prince walked towards Thomas and asked "Didn't you plan on bringing others?" Thomas sighed and said "Yeah, their the whole reason I even bothered to show up, and those four are outside." The prince waved his hand and said "Guards please escort the four in here with us." The guards nodded and said "Be careful with him our king we can't be to careful with the sudden death of your father." Thomas glanced at the guard and mumbled "Guilt trip much?" As the guards left the prince walked towards Thomas and said "Before we begin our feast I'd like to thank you once again for killing my father." Thomas stared at the prince and said "I'd actually appreciate if you didn't bring that up." The prince walked back towards his throne and asked "Shouldn't defeating a king be more of an accomplishment?" Thomas stared at him and said "Killing is nothing to be proud of." The prince sat down and said "I see that you are one who is troubled by your past." The king leaned back and asked "Might you tell me your name?" Thomas stared at him and said "I'm sure you've seen a wanted poster or two around so you don't have to play dumb." The king leaned back and said "I haven't seen any such posters around my kingdom." Thomas reaches into his satchel and pulled out a rolled up sheet of paper. Thomas tossed it to the king and said "Theirs my name, now what's yours?" The king grabbed the paper and opened it as he said "My name is Preston and you shall now know me as the king of Trido." Thomas stared at him and said "Well Preston now that we know each other tell me why your acting so differently from before." Preston let out a sigh and said "Sorry people have been saying that I need to act more kingly like my father so I was giving it a try." Thomas stared at him and said "You give up on the whole formal routine because I don't really like being formal." Preston stood up and said "That's a relief, anyway if you'll please just wait a moment the banquet will begin shortly." Moments later Lily and the others entered the room as Lily stared at Thomas and shouted "Why didn't you bring us with you?" Thomas glanced at her and said "We had to have a little chat." Preston walked towards Thomas and whispered "Do I have to act formal towards them?" Thomas pointed at them and said "One of them is a little girl, theirs a demon, a harpy, and I don't think the princess really cares." Preston stared at Thomas shocked and said "You were traveling with a princess?" Thomas shrugged and said "If I wasn't I wouldn't have gotten caught up in this whole mess." Daisy stared at the prince and asked "Where is the other one?" Preston stared at her and said "If your referring to my brother he was executed by our father after he had found out that he lost a duel." Thomas stared at Preston and nervously said "I'm sorry for your loss." Preston stared at him and said "Don't worry about, if anything he was always a spoiled little brat, and he probably got what he deserved." Preston turned away from them and said "Now if you'd all please follow me to the banquet." Thomas stared at Preston and mumbled "I've taken away most of this guy's family." Thomas followed Preston and asked "Shouldn't your mother help run the kingdom?" Preston glanced at Thomas and said "If your referring to the queen she died a long time ago." Thomas stared at the ground and mumbled "I've actually killed all that's left of his family." Thomas stared at Preston and apologized. Preston glanced at Thomas and asked "Sorry for what?" Thomas turned his head and said nothing as Daisy stared at Thomas and said "He probably feels bad since he was also the one to beat your brother in that duel." Preston stared at Thomas and said "You weren't responsible for that, my father was responsible for having him killed." As they entered the dining room Preston said "Please sit anywhere you'd like and help yourself." Preston stared at Thomas and said "If you'd like you can sit by me." Thomas stared at him and said "I suppose that's fine." As Preston sat down he said "I don't hold you responsible for either of their deaths, they've done this to themselves really." Thomas at down beside him and said "Even so it doesn't feel right to just forget about it." Preston sighed and said "I suppose your right." Preston stared at Thomas and said "Well at the very least you no longer have to worry about Trido and Meta going to war." Thomas stared at him and asked "How can you be so happy when you practically lost your entire family." Preston smiled and said "I may have lost my parents and siblings but pretty soon I'll have someone else." Preston reached into his pocket and pulled out a ring as he said "I plan to start a new family." Thomas stared at the ring and said "I suppose your referring to that childhood friend?" Preston nodded and said "Don't worry about the past instead be happy about the future." Thomas sighed and said "I suppose your right."
