Chapter 104 - Chapter 104 Dire Wolves Atop The Mountain

Thomas sighed as he said "I have about half my mana left, we'll be cutting this pretty close but it should be fine." Thomas stared at the snake girl and mumbled "I hope your happy, because I feel exhausted." Thomas glanced at the others as he walked towards the fire and mumbled "Just a few more hours until sunrise and I can finally quite wasting my mana." As Thomas went to sit down a Wolf jumped at Thomas biting into his shoulder. As the wolf let go and landed in front of Thomas he held his shoulder and mumbled "Why didn't I realize your scent?" Thomas glanced at Ocis who was still sleeping as he mumbled "Its that pelt, you smell just like it." As blood dripped from Thomas's he glanced at the snake girl and mumbled "Any lower and you would've been torn through too." Thomas stared at the wolf as he seen three more begin to surround him. Thomas glanced at his shoulder as he mumbled "If I lose focus the spell will incinerate her but if I don't focus on the fight I won't stand a chance." Thomas glanced at each of the wolves as he said "Looks like I'll have to swallow my pride and get some help." Thomas reaches into his satchel and pulled out a copper coin. He tossed the coin up and caught it as he said "Maybe it was a good thing Ocis stayed out here with me." Thomas tossed the coin hitting Ocis in the head waking her up in a panicked state. One of the wolves turned and stared at Ocis as she stood up and stared at the wolves she asked "What's going on?" Thomas stared at her as he said "I might need some help." Ocis stared at Thomas and asked "How serious is your injury?" Thomas stared at the puddle of blood forming near his feet as he said "It tis but a scratch." Ocis stared at him and said "Don't try to play it off, what if it was a serious injury?" Thomas stared at her and said "Fine it hurts like hell but it should be fine if I ignore it for a while." Ocis glanced at the tent and said "I'll wake the others!" Thomas glanced at the four wolves and said "If your gonna do it then hurry up and do it." As Ocis ran towards the tent one of the wolves pounced at her. Ocis quickly turned to the wolf and used her talons to grab the wolves head and slam it into the ground. As Ocis let go and continued to run towards the tent two more wolves blocked her path. Thomas glanced at her spear witch she had left by the fire as he made a run for it the three wolves that surrounded him began to charge. As Thomas grabbed the spear with his uninjured arm he swung it and sliced one of the wolves throats. Thomas glanced at Ocis and threw the spear to her as he stared at the other two wolves and asked "Which one of you are next?" Thomas glanced at Ocis as he watched her quickly impale one of the wolves. As Ocis pulled her spear out of the wolf she slammed the back of the spear down on the other wolf's head completely dazing the wolf. As this happened Lily pokes her head out of the tent and asked "What's with all of the noise." Thomas glanced at her and said "Kinda busy but I'll explain in just a few minutes." Lily stared at his shoulder and said "I won the bet." Thomas stared at her confused as he asked "What bet?" As Thomas stood their a wolf jumped at Thomas knocking him to the ground and preparing to move in for the kill. As the wolf pounced at Thomas once again Lily held up her hand and casted a water bolt that went straight through the wolf's chest. The wolf was knocked away and bleeding from the wound as it stood up and began to run at Lily. Ocis stabbed the wolf through the neck and said "You've already done enough damage." Thomas laid their in the snow staring at the sky as he mumbled "Don't lose focus, and stay alive." Thomas sat up and stared at a wolf that was now mere inches away from his face. Thomas stared at the wolf and said "Nice weather tonight isn't it?" As the wolf attempted to bite Thomas's face Ocis shoved her spear through its spine killing the wolf. She stared at Thomas and said "I understand that you don't want to take any of this seriously but please don't do something so stupid." Thomas stared at her and stood up as he said "I was just wondering if he was enjoying the weather." Ocis glanced at him and said "He was about to be enjoying your face." Lily stared at the three remaining wolves one of which had a hole through it already. Ocis glanced at the tent and asked "How can Scarlett and Daisy still be asleep?" Thomas shrugged as he stood beside Ocis and said "I envy them." Lily glared at Thomas as she said "Can you quit chatting and help me?" Ocis stared at Lily and said "Maybe we should let him sit this one out." Lily stared at the blood trail that followed Thomas as she asked "Is all that blood really yours?" Ocis began to run towards the tent as she said "I'll get Daisy." Thomas began to walk towards Lily while holding his shoulder as he said "Its not as bad as you think." Lily glared at him and said "Sit this one out, if you die or you lose your concentration that sleeping lamia on your arm is as good as dead." Thomas smiled as he said "Don't worry I'll be fine." Thomas watched as one of the wolves backed away and began to run at Lily. Thomas quickly grabbed Lily by the arm and swung her out of the way. Thomas glanced at her and said "See it is a good thing that I didn't stop fighting." Lily stared at him as she shouted "It's only because I wasn't paying attention!" Thomas stared at the three wolves that surrounded him. Thomas sighed as he said "Right now I'm an easy kill, these wolves won't even need to work together to kill me." Lily stared at him and shouted "Then why don't you stop fighting them?" As a wolf pounced at Thomas he stepped out of the way and said "If I did that I'd be putting you all in a rather dangerous situation just so I wouldn't have to be, and I'd rather not do that." Lily quickly fired a water bolt through the wolf's chest that attacked Thomas. The wolf turned to Lily and began to stumble towards her as it fell over and died. Thomas glanced at the tent and seen Daisy crawling out of it. Daisy stared at Thomas as she said "I lost the bet." Thomas glared at her as he asked "What bet?" Daisy stared at the two wolves as she asked "How long have you all been fighting?" Thomas thought about it for a moment and said "We haven't been fighting too long." Daisy glared at Thomas as she noticed his shoulder injury and asked "Were you not gonna wake me and allow me to help you with your injury?" Thomas stared at her as he said "I got the injury from the wolves how was I suppose to tell you in the middle of a fight?" Daisy threw her blade into one of the wolves chests as she said "You could've at least asked me for help to fight." Thomas watched as the fire wolf died as he glanced at her and said "I intended to wake you I just couldn't find the right moment." As the final wolf jumped at Thomas Lily blasted a second hole through its chest as she said "I didn't miss any of the vital organs this time." As the final wolf died Scarlett crawled out of the tent and asked "What's going on?" Thomas stared at her as he sat down and said "Nothing much we just ended up fighting some wolves." Scarlett stared at the bodies as she said "I lost the bet." Thomas stared at her annoyed as he said "I don't even care about the bet anymore." Daisy approached Thomas as she reached into her pockets and pulled out some bandages. Daisy began to wrap Thomas's arm as she said "This is the best I can do right now, you'll have to wait until we get to the village for me to properly treat you." Thomas glanced at the snake girl as he said "She slept through the entire fight." Scarlett walked towards Thomas as she asked "Why didn't you wake me?" Thomas stared at her as he said "You and Daisy wouldn't wake up." Scarlett turned away as she said "You didn't even try." Thomas sighed as he laid back and stared at the sky and said "Well we shouldn't have to worry about being attacked again, not for a while anyway."
