After arriving in the next town Thomas decided that he was bored and wanted something to do and so he walked into an inn he seen on the way over and and approached the lady behind the counter. After she had noticed him she asked "What can I do for you?" Thomas thought about it for a minute and then said "Give me the quest that's been causing the most trouble." She stared at him for a while as she said "You seem awful familiar." Thomas glanced around the room for wanted posters as he said "I get that a lot but it must be your imagination." Thomas glanced back at her with an awkward smile as he asked "So what's the biggest issue?" She reaches under the counter and pulled out a piece of paper as she said "The SoulBurn crypts have been having a lot of undead people popping out of the ground at an alarming rate and have been attacking people." Thomas stared at her confused as he mumbled "Undead people crawling out of the ground?" Thomas stared at her as he asked "Is it alarming enough that their coming out of the ground?" She shook her head as she said "It's only unusual if the soul already left the body." Thomas glanced at her as he asked is their a difference between the soul leaving the body and the soul staying with the body. She nodded as she said "The difference is if the soul hasn't left the body then the ghoul lives on its own free will and is alive, however if the soul does leave the corpse then it is dead but if someone uses a necromancy spell then they can use that body as a vessel and command the corpse to do their bidding." Thomas stared at her as he said "I'll take the quest but I'm just gonna pummel any corpse that tries to attack me." She stared at him with a blank expression as she said "If you attack any of the harmless ghouls I refuse to take responsibility." Thomas turned around and walked out the door as he mumbled "How do I tell the difference between un undead and actual undead?" Thomas shrugged as he said "I'm sure if their a living dead person and not a mindless one they'll warn me." As Thomas arrived at the crypt he pushed the giant iron bar gate open and muttered "I forgot to check how much this damn quest was worth." Thomas sighed as he walked in and said "Let's just get this over with." As Thomas walked around the grave yard he seen no one and nothing. Thomas yawned as he sat down on one of the steps outside of a tomb as he said "I came out here expecting to see walking corpses, but this place is dead and not in the way I was expecting." Thomas stood up and began to walk back towards the gate as he mumbled "This stupid quest was nothing more than a lie." As Thomas reached the gate a hand popped out of the ground and grabbed his leg. Thomas stared at the hand confused as he mumbled "Is he trying to attack me or use my leg as a support to dig himself out?" Thomas kneeled down and grabbed the hand. As he grabbed the hand he began to pull on it. While pulling on it a body rose up from the ground as Thomas held its hand above him he stared at the moving corpse as he said "What do you know looks like their really are some walking corpses." The ghoul man stared at Thomas as he asked "Why are you disturbing our rest." Thomas stared at him as he let go and said "I got news that some undead were attacking the living." The ghoul stared at him as he said "No of us have laid a finger on the truly living." Thomas glanced around as he asked "If I take a look around I won't bother anyone will I?" The ghoul glanced at Thomas as he said "Come back at night and quit disturbing our rest." Thomas shrugged as he walked out of the gate and said "Fine I'll be back as soon as it's night." The ghoul began to sink into the ground as if it was water. As Thomas seen this he mumbled "Guess he's gonna take a quick dirt nap." Thomas shrugged as he laid down outside of the crypt and began to sleep. As night came the same ghoul tapped Thomas on the head as he thanked him and said "Were ready time answer your questions now." Thomas stared at him as he asked "Do you know anything about necromancers passing by?" The ghouls glanced at each other and shook their heads as they glanced back at Thomas and said "We haven't seen a thing." Thomas stood up as he said "Second question, Have you noticed any bits of the ground being recently dig up or as if someone had been their that shouldn't have?" The ghoul in front of Thomas nodded as he said "Every now and then a man wearing a cloak comes by but it's normally during the day, he occasionally attempts to dig us up." Thomas glanced at the rest of them as they nodded in agreement while whispering to each other about the mysterious figure. Thomas smiles as he said "I'll be sticking around here for a while." They stared at him as they asked "Are you really ok with sleeping at a graveyard?" Thomas nodded as he said "I won't be a hazard to you guys so don't worry about that." They glanced at each other and began to whisper to one another once more. After whispering to one another they turned to Thomas and said "We don't really care if you stay or don't but we'll also keep an eye out for this necromancer." Thomas glanced at them all as he pointed to a ghoul who seemed to be missing an eye as he said "Someone seems to be prepared for this." He stared at him as he said "I'm not keeping this eye out for you it just happened during a fight." Thomas stared at him as he said "You know what I get it, battle scars right?" The man nodded as Thomas walked away and said "I'd tell you to look alive stay alive but that probably doesn't even matter to you guys since your not doing either one of those things." They all stared at Thomas as one asked "Are you done making jokes out of our misfortunes?" Thomas stared at them as he said "Not very funny?" They all stared at him and shook theirs heads as Thomas turned around and said "Well then I'll just head to the nearest tree and keep watch their." They stared at him as they watched him scurry up a tree and lay down on a branch. Thomas sat their and stared at them all as he mumbled "Can a dead person even be killed twice?" Thomas shrugged as he said "Guess I'll have to find out when ever that guy with the necromancy shows up." Thomas yawned as he mumbled "Maybe I should do something proactive." Thomas hopped out of the tree as he looked around for something that he could use for training as he searched and mumbled "I need a something about the weight of that boulder." After searching for a few minutes Thomas found nothing and decided that his best course of action would be to instead break off the top and bottom of a tree and then to tie the long onto his back. After doing this Thomas began to do push-ups and squats during the night as he mumbled "I've gotta make sure I'm ready for anything!" As the ghouls seen Thomas a few of the younger ghouls approached him as they asked "What are you doing?" Thomas glanced at them as he said "I have to get ready for a fight." They stared at him as they asked "Who are you gonna fight?" Thomas continued to do push-ups as he said "I gotta get ready to fight the fairy queen again." They stared at him as they asked "Is the fairy queen strong?" Thomas nodded as he said "If I'm fighting with nothing to help me than all she has to do is use a simple spell with a very low amount of mana." They stared at him as they asked "How did you survive such a strong power." Thomas glanced at them as he said "I ate this fruit that grew on the tree that temporarily made me immortal and then she blew me to pieces." Thomas sighed as he said "Mostly pieces anyway most of me was ground up into a bloody puddle and thrown all over the place as if it was raining blood." They stared at him with amazement as they said "The fairy queen must be the strongest being in the universe!" Thomas stared at them as they cheerfully ran around and played as he stood their training for his next fight.
