Chapter 76 - Chapter 76 A Familiar Face

After Thomas had his run in with the fairy queen and is now out of the hidden forest he continues with his journey to the next town. As the town came into sight Lily and Scarlett began to run towards the town as Thomas mumbled "Ever since we arrived in an area that's friendly with demons Scarlett has been acting just like a kid in a candy shop." Thomas shrugged as he mumbled "Guess it's not my problem." Once they all arrived in the town they all wandered off to get supplies for their journey and a room at the inn. Thomas sighed as he mumbled "I'm alone again." Moments after walking around someone jumped out at Thomas a punched him in the face sending Thomas tumbling on the ground. As he stood up he stared at the person and asked "What the hell was that for?" After staring at the man for a few seconds he realized that it was Toby as he asked "Toby what are you doing here, and why did you punch me?" Toby began to run towards Thomas as he drew his sword and shouted "You kidnapped a princess!" Thomas glanced at him as he mumbled "Dammit, this is gonna be a situation where fighting is the only option." Thomas avoided the sword and shrugged as he said "Talking to him is worth a try I guess." Thomas kicked the sword out of Toby's hands and grabbed him by the shoulders as he said "Toby listen for a minute." Toby reached into his pocket and held up Thomas's wanted poster as he shouted "If your going to try and get out of it it's not gonna work, this poster does all the explaining that needs to be done." After throwing the poster Toby head butted Thomas and shouted "Where is the princess!" Thomas stared at him as he shrugged and mumbled "When dealing with Toby talking is useless." Thomas stared at Toby as he said "Since you don't wanna talk I guess I'll just have to beat you so you'll listen to what I have to say." Toby let go of Thomas as he shouted "I won't kill you if you tell me where the princess is!" Thomas jumped at Toby and attempted to punch him as he said "So now you wanna talk." As Toby moved to the side Thomas landed on a wall and bounced off of it and back at Toby. While Thomas flew at Toby he punched him in the back as he said "If your ready to talk so am I." Toby stood up and walked over to his sword as he picked it up and said "You've gotten stronger since we last fought." Thomas shrugged as he said "You ain't so bad yourself." Toby smiled as he asked "How do you keep up with me?" Thomas yawned as he said "I do what I want and live how I want." Toby stared at Thomas as he said "That doesn't explain how your keeping up with me." Toby raised his sword as he mumbled "His level has gone up by ten how did he get ten levels in less then two weeks?" Toby lunges at Thomas with his sword as Thomas said "I've been meaning to ask you, what's that ridiculous green bar above you." Toby stopped moving as he asked "You can see my health?" Thomas shrugged as he said "As far as I know the box doesn't really exist I've seen it go through walls and it always stays above your head." Toby walked towards Thomas as he asked "You can see the game like icons too?" Thomas shrugged as he said "The red part of that bar is being filled with the green." Toby pointed above his head as he said "This bar resembles my life and when it hits zero I die." Thomas walked up to him and started to swat at Toby's health bar as he said "Your the only person I can see it above." Toby stared at him as he asked "Do you see numbers?" Thomas nodded as he said "I see the numbers twenty." Toby pointed above Thomas as he said "And your level is twenty five." Toby began to explain his game like abilities as Thomas stood their listening to him as he asked "So you can get infinitely stronger easily?" Tiny nodded as he said "In the past two weeks my level went up by four and yours went up by ten." Toby glanced at Thomas as he asked "How did you gain so much strength in so little time?" Thomas shrugged as he said "It might've been the near death experiences." Toby stared at him as he said "That's ridiculous, why would someone get stronger when they nearly die?" Thomas shrugged as he said "You can always try attaching a boulder to yourself and do laps around the towns or climb very high things with them attached to you." Toby stared at Thomas as he asked "Why would that work?" Thomas shrugged as asked "Are we still fighting or not?" Toby stepped back as he said "Sorry I got carried away." Thomas shrugged as he said "The first move is on you." Toby smiled as he said "after I defeat you you'll tell me where the princess is." Thomas glanced at the sky as he said "That's a pretty big if." Toby lunged at Thomas once more as he said "It doesn't matter I'll find her one way or another." As Toby got within a few feet of Thomas he swung his sword as he shouted "I won't lose!" Thomas glanced at him and started to sink his feet into the ground as he pushed off and jumped at Toby as he shouted "Your pretty confident not using your prayer ability." Toby smiled as he said "I've already activated it." Thomas glanced at Toby as he started to move faster Thomas mumbled "When did he have the time to activate it?" As Toby stood in front of Thomas he began to swing his sword directly down at Thomas as he said "Despite your power good will overcome evil!" Thomas glanced at him as the sword shattered into pieces Thomas closed his eyes and covered where the sword would hit as he mumbled "I might've gotten a bit careless." Thomas continued to close his eyes as he heard a familiar voice tell him "You forgot your jacket." Thomas stared in front of him as he seen that Toby's sword had shattered on Opal's head as Thomas mumbled "Thats a face I didn't think I'd see for a while." Thomas grabbed his jacket from Opal as he put it on and thanked her. Opal turned and stared at Toby as she asked "Why were you about to kill him?" Toby stared at her as he pointed and said "Your a fairy." She glanced at Thomas as she said "He knows more then what you did." Thomas shrugged as Toby said "I was gonna kill him for kidnapping the princess." Opal glared at Thomas as he said "I didn't kidnap anyone." Opal glanced at Toby as she asked "Would you like to fight?" Thomas turned around and said nothing as Toby said "I'm not gonna attack a little girl." Opal stared at him with a sinister look as she held up her hand and blasted him through the air. Opal glanced at Thomas as she asked "Would you like to fight?" Thomas shook his head as he said "I haven't gotten any stronger yet but when I do you better be prepared for our fight!" Opal smiled as she said "I will be waiting in the hidden forest and I will be ready for our next fight." As she left Toby walked over to Thomas as he asked "What did I do wrong?" Thomas glanced at him as he said "She's way older then you and she doesn't like being called a kid." After a while Daisy walked up to Thomas and asked "What happened to Toby?" Toby glanced at her and shouted "Princess I'm her to return you to the kingdom!" Daisy sighed as she said "I'm not going back, I refuse to marry that pathetic prince that my father decided I should marry." Thomas pointed at Toby and said "See I didn't kidnap anyone, well not against their will anyway." After explaining the situation to Toby he seemed to understand. Before leaving Toby glanced at Thomas and asked "Who was that fairy?" Thomas grinned as he said "That little girl was the fairy queen and seems like your already on bad terms with her." Toby seemed shocked as he asked "Did I just anger the fairies?" Thomas shook his head as he said "The Queen loves to challenge people so others don't think nothing of it." Toby stared at Thomas as he whispered "I couldn't even see her level." Thomas shrugged as he said "You don't need to worry about it just know that she's far stronger then you." As morning came they set off onto their next destination.
