Chapter 49 - Chapter 49 Lucky Range

As Lily, Scarlett, Daisy, and Thomas all continued their journey they came across a farm as Thomas reaches into his satchel and pulled out the map as he looked at it and said "Seems like we're at the right place." Lily stared at him as she asked "Why are we at a farm?" Thomas stared at her as he said "This is Lucky Range." Daisy stared at Thomas as she said "I've been here a few times so I know the people." Thomas stared at her and asked "Are these people fine with demons?" Daisy nodded as she said "Demon travelers travel through here often." They all walked into the town as Daisy said "I have something to take care of I'll be with you in one moment." Lily and Scarlett stared at her as Thomas continued to walk off as he mumbled "Something ain't right." Thomas turned to Lily and Scarlett as he said "I'm gonna check something out." Thomas began to sniff the air and walk towards the animals as he mumbled "This smell it's not right." As Thomas approached the animals he walked up to the chickens as he continued sniff the air. Thomas grabbed one of the chickens as he walked back to Lily and Scarlett as they asked "Why did you steal a chicken?" Thomas stared at the chicken as he said "I'm not stealing it I just have some questions." As Daisy came she appeared with the owner of the farm as she said "This here is the owner of the farm and he agreed to let us stay here." The farmer stared at Thomas as he asked "Why are you holding one of my chickens?" Thomas set the chicken down and stared at it as he said "It smells like mana." The farmer walked over to the chicken as he said "Theirs nothing strange about this chicken, the only strange thing that occasionally happens is that at a random time in the day something catches fire." Thomas stood up and continued to stare at the chicken as he said "Random fires?" The farmer nodded as he said "I haven't found a way to prevent them but I've always managed to put them out." The farmer stared at the chicken as he said "If you'll please follow me to your temporary room." Thomas followed the farmer as he stared at the chicken and mumbled "I'll find out for myself one way or another." As they entered a room in the barn the farmer apologized for their only being two rooms and then left as he said "Enjoy your stay." Once the farmer left Lily asked Thomas "Why are you so focused on a chicken?" As she turned to see where Thomas was she realized that he must've left the room by teleporting away. Thomas teleported outside and walked back towards the chicken as he set down in front of it as he said "Come on chicken do something strange so I can prove that I'm not obsessed with you." After staring at the chicken for over an hour the farmer found Thomas as he asked "Why are you so obsessed with that chicken?" Thomas stood up and started walking towards the farmer as he said "I guess the chicken really is normal it doesn't seem like it's doing anything besides peck the ground anyway." As Thomas walked towards the farmer he began to panic as he pointed to the chicken as Thomas asked "What are you doing?" As Thomas looked at where he was pointing he seen the chicken grow three times in size as it began to breathe fire. Thomas pointed at the chicken as he asked "Do all your chickens do that?" The farmer began to run away as he shouted "Your an adventurer can you do something?" Thomas stared at the chicken as he teleported above it and onto its back as he sat down on it and asked "So chicken you wanna do this the hard way or what?" The chick began to run around breathing fire as Thomas shrugged and said "Guess theirs no point in talking to a giant chicken." Thomas raised his fist as he slammed it down onto the chickens back as it hit the ground Lily, Scarlett, and Daisy all walked out as they seen Thomas sitting on it as he said "I told you their was something up with this chicken." As Thomas stood up he stepped off of the chicken and started to walk towards them as Lily shouted "Its a real life Basan." Thomas turned to the chicken as it started to get up as he sat down and said "Looks like he's a lot more durable then an average chicken." Scarlett drew her sword and raised it to the chicken as she began to attack the chicken. As Scarlett's blade hit the chickens beak it knocked Scarlett's sword out of her hands as Thomas said "Looks like it's smarter then your average meal too." Lily and Daisy both began to run towards the Basan as Lily held her hand on it and used the blaze spell as Daisy attempted to cut it. Thomas sat their and watched them as he said "I trust you three can handle one bad egg." Thomas stood up and walked away as he said "I'll check up on you in a bit." After attempting to cut the chicken it raised its leg and kicked Daisy away as she was knocked away and onto the ground. The chicken stared at Scarlett as it pecked at her arm. As her arms began to bleed Scarlett hopped away as she yelled "This Basan is no joke." Daisy stood up as the chicken began to walk towards Lily she shouted "Run!" Lily stared at the chicken as she froze and stood their as the chick rose its foot and clawed at Lily. As Daisy ran towards the chicken Thomas walked back as he stood their with a blank expression as he stared at all of them. As Daisy jumped at the chicken it raised it started to breath fire at Daisy as she shouted "I can't dodge!" As the Basan stopped breathing fire Daisy was gone as the Basan began to walk back towards Scarlett. As the chicken walked towards Scarlett he called out "Hey you big chicken!" As the chicken turned around it seen Thomas and Daisy standing their as Thomas teleported to Scarlett's sword as he picked it up and said "If I hadn't stepped in you would've killed them." Thomas began to walk towards the chicken while dragging the sword as he mumbled "I'd I didn't know how to teleport Daisy would be dead." Thomas looked up at the chicken as he glanced at Scarlett and Lily as he stopped a foot away from the Basan and said "I'm not one for revenge but it seems like if I don't step in they won't win." As the chicken started to breathe fire Daisy and Scarlett yelled "Watch out!" However Thomas stood their in the fire as he mumbled "Its my fault their hurt. As the chicken stopped breathing fire Thomas raised the sword and shouted "How dare you hurt them!" As Thomas swung the sword the chicken attempted to block the sword with its beak as Thomas shouted "That won't do you any good!" As Thomas stared at the chicken he began to push on the sword even harder as he heard the Basan's beak begin to crack. Thomas lifted the sword and swung once again as it cut straight through its beak as it began to back up Thomas continued to walk towards the Basan as his clothes continued to burn. The Basan raised one of its legs as it attempted to kick Thomas as he blocked it and knocked the chicken to the ground as he continued to walk towards it as he drug the sword. As the Basan laid their Thomas raised the sword d plunged it through the Basan as Thomas mumbled "Although its my fault they got hurt I won't allow you to hurt them anymore." As the chickens movements ceased Thomas let go of the sword and walked towards Lily who was still lying on the ground as he picked her up and walked towards Daisy as he asked "Can you patch up Lily and Scarlett?" Daisy nodded as she pulled out some bandages and began to wrap up both of their injuries as Scarlett stared at Thomas and pointed to his shirt as she said "Your still on fire." Thomas took off his shirt and threw it to the ground as he said "Forget the shirt are they gonna be okay?" Daisy nodded as she said "Their in much better shape then when I first met you." Thomas laid down on the ground as he said "That stupid chicken scorched my tail." Thomas sat up as he picked up Lily and said "It'll be best if I leave her in the room for a while." Thomas walked out of the room Daisy stood their as she asked "Would you like me to help with your burns?" Thomas walked away as he said "Don't worry about them they'll go away on their own." Before she could ask him anything else he teleported on top of the barn as he said "Forget sharing beds I'll just sleep here for tonight."
