All the maid were literally running everywhere and putting up flower decoration in the hall. The color coordination of the flowers was on point too. It was satisfying for me to see them running around since it meant everything would be done on time. Dad led me to a room where there was a huge meeting table, filled with people that I have no idea who. There were twelve people here excluding the king on the table. Dad walked over and sat on the chair. Once he sat down, he patted on his lap while looking at me. I know what he was saying.
"I'm good."
Dad shrugged and faced the front with his hands on the table. I looked around and recognized King Tyson. His chair was bigger and taller than the rest of the chairs. The crown prince was standing beside him like I was. King Tyson cleared his throat to get our attention.
"General Jake Covington is the one who gathered us all together for this emergency meeting." King Tyson turned to Dad. "You may speak."
"Thank you, your majesty." Dad gave him a small bow before continuing. "It's about the crown prince's parade. I got information that there may be an assassination attempt on the crown prince."
Everyone started talking together to each other. Their voices were all over the place. Prince Hermon looked at King Tyson with wide-eyes. Dad tried to speak, but the voices were too loud. King Tyson slammed the table with his hand that made everyone hush down. King Tyson turned to Dad.
"You may proceed."
"I got the information I got is from an unknown source, so I don't know if it really will happen. To be safe, I request to postpone the parade until we find out if there really is an assassination attempt."
"That is preposterous. You said you got this from an unknown source, so this must be a fluke. Besides, important figures will come that day. We can't just postpone it." The grey-haired man with a scar running through his right eyes looked at King Tyson for an answer. "Your majesty, please say this parade is going to proceed."
"What if the source was right? The crown prince's life will be on the line." Dad was literally standing and looking at the grey-haired man. Half of the table was on Dad's side, while the other half was on the man's side. "If you proceed with the arrangements, you will be giving the assassination a chance to kill the young prince, and the prince hasn't even been awakened yet."
The whole table went silent as they looked at the king. I heard a soft snore in the process. I looked at Ari to see her sleep on my shoulder. I had no idea how she could sleep like that. I took her and carried her in my arms. Ari jolted as soon as I put her in my rooms. She started to smell around immediately.
"We are going to resume the parade, but we should take some precautions." The king had made his decisions. Dad sat back down and mumbled something. "We could substitute the prince during the parade and bring Hermon when it is time for the crown prince ceremony."
Were they going to make the plan that simple? There were many situations that could happen during the switch, or they could kill him before the switch.
'Baba, there is someone not good here.' I turned my attention to Ari.
'What do you mean?'
'The air smells ominous. Someone that is against us.'
'Do you know who it is?'
' I don't know. I have to smell around. The smell is mixing up with everyone else, so I can't exactly tell where it is.'
I let go of Ari. She landed on her feet.
'Give me a signal when you find her.' Ari nodded her head before smelling off.
"I don't think that is going to work. The plan is too simple and way too many loopholes." Way to go, dad.
"Then what do you suggest, General Jake?" Dad thought for a few seconds. "I need more time, your majesty."
"Alright, please discuss the plan with Lady Philones since she is our strategist." Dad nodded in response. I wonder who lady Philones was.
"Ow." I turned to the high-pitched voice. The voice came from the other corner of the table.
"What is it, lady Philones?" I turned to where everyone was looking at. It was a beautiful lady. Even though she was wearing a uniform, her natural curves showed. Her black curls bounced as she moved to look at the king. Her hazel eye shined brightly despite the dim light of the room. Her red lipstick supported the red badge on her chest. Her chest was at least a D-cup. Overall, she was perfect. Her lips were in a frown as her eyebrows scrunched up. She was looking at the king, directly. She had her hand up. Ari was in her hand and literally being strangled.
"This thing just bit me, your majesty." Her voice became a little low-pitched since she was literally growling.
"Oops!" Everyone turned to me. I walked over to her as I shrugged. I reached out and received Ari from her. "I don't know how my pet got there, but I am so sorry, old lady." I could hear some people snicker softly.
"W-what? O-o-old lady? Kid, I am old enough to be your older sister."
I faked a gasp and looked at the person sitting beside her.
"Is that true?" I tilted my head, make myself looked confused. The guy was holding in his laughter but slowly nodded. I turned back at her with a fake surprise, then gave her a polite smile.
"Oh, I assumed since you have wrinkles. My bad." I walked over to Dad, who also was having a hard time not laughing. He was covering it up with coughs. I stood right where I was before and held Ari in my arms.
'Why did you bite her?'
'Cause she is the traitor.'
Oh boy.
