Chapter 44 - Is He Crazy

He threw me a baffled expression, I tightened my grip on his neck, my red-eye glowing brighter than ever "You think this is funny? Is this a game to you?" I watched silently as his neck reddened under my fingers.

"No, look what's the issue isn't it just a tattoo like your arm? I wanted to be honest when you asked me what I saw. What's the issue?" He said in a strained voice.

I locked my eyes with him; he didn't look like he was lying, so after one last squeeze I relaxed my fingers. His reddened neck slowly returned to its normal state, and the man coughed furiously, trying to catch his breath. His movement loosened the blanket's tie and without further a due it dropped revealing my chest once again, this time right before his eyes.

Silence fell as we both stared at each other. His face flushed like a tomato and he quickly whipped his head away, avoiding eye-contact. I casually pulled the blanket back on, my expression never once wavering. Why should I be embarrassed? I was only embarrassed before because I had no control over the situation, but now him seeing me naked didn't bother me, besides he only saw my chest.

"It's such a pretty pink," He murmured to himself, a red hue on his face.

"What did you say?" I glanced to him, wasn't he the same one being shy? Is he a pervert or just straight up stupid?

"Huh!? Nothing!" He blushed again, his tanned ears that poked out the side of his black hair a deep cherry colour.

"Thanks for treating me. Where is my stuff?" I looked around asking.

"Over there, I washed them now they are drying" He pointed avoiding all eye-contact with me to a stand where my clothes hung air-drying I walked to them and realizing they were still damp I left them to continue drying.

"My weapon strap?" I asked again to which he pointed to a table, I nodded, went to the table and tied the straps on my thighs. "Let's talk about business now. Who are you?" I sat on a smooth rock and crossed my legs.

The man scratched his head and smiled sheepishly, "Well, I don't quite know,"

"Huh?" Was this man retarded?

"Don't look at me like that, it's true!" He waved his hands in the air, trying to explain.

"Uh-huh," I nodded, unconvinced. I called Al trying to get a response from him, but I received no response. I thought it was weird, but shrugged it off as one of his moods.

"It's true! I just suddenly woke up, and I barely had any memories. The only thing I remember is...." He trailed off.

"About?" I raised my eyebrow, I wondered how far he would continue with this farce.

"Well....about this day, I don't quite get it but there was destruction everywhere and this woman who came with..." He held his head in his hand groaning, sweat running down his forehead.

"Okay, okay, I get it, what's your name?" I dropped the case of who he was since he was so adamant about not saying anything and changed my question.

"Um? I don't know," I facepalmed he could just use a fake name if he wanted to.

"Okay, fine, your name is Alphar then," I rolled my eyes. His eyes lit up, and he lunged towards me, clasping my hands in his. I leaned back, twisting on the rock uncomfortably.

"Really? Thanks!" He threw me another sheepish grin, his canines glinting. I shook his hands off. This man really is crazy.

"You can call me Indigo," He nodded in response, "Why did you help me?" I couldn't just accept the fact he helped me with no purpose, he must have an aim, or so I thought, but his next words surprised me.

He tilted his head, "someone injured you," he stated as if it was obvious it was the same tone Al would speak in when he thought I asked a dumb question. I sighed, just what did I get myself into.
