After weaving through a few more alleyways, I made it to an array of trash cans. It was the regular meeting place of the gang, Dave and Rick were in, Dave is the leader. I pushed the two large cans across, being as quiet as achievable. Once moved, the steep, dusty staircase leading to darkness appeared. I trudged down the familiar steps, listening to the occasional water drops and low laughs emerging from the dark. Reaching the bottom of the flight of stairs, a cramped passage opened up with a fuzzy light peeping through the black abyss. I strode towards it, neither slow nor fast, my boots crunching ever so slightly beneath me.
As I approached the light it got brighter and brighter before I was standing before the source; a rusty wooden door. I stood back a bit, putting some distance between myself and the door, and in one swift movement brought my leg up to strike the door, making a loud impact that echoed through the passage. The door blew off its hinges, smacking the wall behind it with a loud crash., spewing dust into the air.
Dozens of eyes laid on me for a few moments, silence returned to the room. I ignored the incredulous and confused stares being thrown my way and walked to the centre of the room where Dave and Rick were sitting. I pulled off my hood, revealing my face. Once Dave recognized my face, he looked at me with surprise, then relief, before he returned to normal, grinning playfully while looking at me as if I was a piece of cake on a silver platter. Rick wasn't much better once he examined my face. He no longer cared for my presence, lowering his guard, instead throwing me a perverted wink. I lowered his ranking in my mind, dropping him even further into the negatives.
"Indigo, nice to meet you again. How did you find this place? Did you come here to have a little fun with your big brother here!" Dave tossed his head back, roaring in amusement. The rest of his gang seeing how laid back their leader was, their tensed shoulders relaxed and returned to chatting with one another.
"Dave, who didn't tell me you got yourself a girl!" Rick threw his hand over Dave's shoulder, chuckling, his two small canines poking out from his lips. "You should share Dave!" He ruffled Dave's messy black hair, making an even bigger mess of it.
