Chapter 34 - Revenge Best Served Cold (2)

"Ho-" I stopped his words by placing my finger over his mouth and pressing one of my fingers to my own indicating to him to be quiet, I could feel his body quiver slightly under me and I threw him a small smile.

"Old fool, how about we play a little game, I wonder how long you will last taking the amount of pain I have suffered all these years and experience it in the matter of an hour?" I whispered into his ear and I could clearly see the goosebumps that spread across his neck and his hair that immediately stood at attention.

I took a few of the sickles from my strap and held them in between my fingers. "Old man if you scream I'll immediately cut out your tongue and if you think for a second that you screaming for help will work you are mistaken, because I'll kill you on the spot and take your head with me,"

"You wouldn't dare!" I ignored his words and stabbed a sickle into his shoulder, the sound of it cutting through his bone echoed in the silent night before it stuck into the tree behind him. He let out a small scream but was immediately stopped as I held his jaw in my hand

"Old fool, tell me does this look like the face of someone who's joking?" I gave him a sweet smile my cherry red eye glowing with a sinister gleam. I took another sickle stabbing it into his other shoulder pinning him to the tree and before he managed to squeeze out a scream I slashed his tongue the pink and black spotted tongue falling with a very soft plop into the grass below. "See old fool didn't I tell you I would follow through with my promise?" I giggled.

I stabbed two more sickles into each of his thighs. He was completely stuck on the tree now hovering over the ground. Sweat poured down his body as he hung there limply his mouth hanging open as blood streamed out his mouth. His body sunk slightly under gravity while the sickles embedded in hid flesh resisted it as they trailed long gashes into his flesh, his deep grotesque wounds spewing fresh bright red blood.

I took a few steps back glancing his body up and down, I tapped my chin in contemplation "Hey, Al what should I do next?" I looked over at Barnes whose eyes were filled with agony not even registering my words anymore

'.....Do as you wish...but make sure to hurry' His voice was completely devoid of emotions for the current situation in which normal people would have vomited or fainted, maybe both.

"Al, again this is the moment you ask me to be merciful," I gave a helpless smile to his indifference

'Do you want me to do so?' I sighed at his uncaring attitude and looked back at Barnes.

I began to have slight doubts a large part of me really wanted to give Barnes all the pain I felt all these years from his betrayal, becoming a slave to Sophie and serving countless customers daily I wanted to give him all that pain ten-fold. I came in expecting to utterly mutilate him, using every physical torture I could think of, but what I didn't account for was that girl. If I was selfish and let him feel my pain I would put that girl through even more pain, pain I should understand well. I would like to believe I wasn't completely heartless and with that thought in mind my heart began to waver. I glanced to the girl who was sitting there unconscious with her shoulders slumped over and it was then I realized I couldn't do it, he had to die of course but for that girl's sanity, I would be sure not to put her through seeing his utterly mangled body because if I did do that as someone who understood true pain I would be the bad person for deliberately doing the same to her.

"Hey Al, would I be stupid to show some mercy?" I asked glumly staring at Barnes who was now right before me.

'No' One word fell from him before we were again plunged into silence. I sighed again, Al was so indifferent about everything I really wondered what happened to him to develop this sort of personality; wise yet uncaring. I looked back to Barnes with new-found resolve and I slowly began walking to him.
