Chereads / THE UNEXPECTED HEIR / Chapter 37 - Direct concoct

Chapter 37 - Direct concoct

After that Roy went over to Ella and held her hand saying, "Come with me." She didn't protest and went with him. Recently with the turning events she was left in a position to not being able to say anything. He took her out of the hall in such a rush that the boy who had called her in the garden was almost going to fall flat on his face. But he managed to only fall on his knee.

"I said to stand guard. Not to stand in my way", Roy scolded.

This time the boy got up and bowed to them completely until his back was fully bend, "F-Forgive me Sir. Mada- um Mistress."

Roy was not in the mood of wasting any more time with the boy, therefor led her with him. The further way was in no way easy for them, especially Ella. She could hear loud and deliberate whispers of 'The Heir is back!', 'Shouldn't she let go of the throne?', 'Where was she until now?', 'She looks like a queen!' While the whispers fainted in her ears, she saw everyone to be bowing in front of her.

Was she a freak to say that she is finding all this to be overbearing? She looked to her side to look at his face who was having a content smile for receiving all the attention. He closely held her hand in his crook, establishing it clearly that anyone closer to the throne is him. She shook her head at his arrogant stance and maintained her stature of passing through all the stares and whispers around. Meeting Daisy was turning out to be always surprising today! At first Ella had seen her confused expression and now she was presented with her shocked expression. The receptionist was so shocked that she had forgot to bow down to them until her neighbor jabbed her elbow.

They reached to his study in the palace and locked the door, while loosening his tie and removing it followed by unbuttoning the top three buttons of his shirt and hanging his coat in the chair of the study. He grabbed a chair and waited for Ella to sit on it. She did and he brought another chair to sit closer to her. They sat like that for a few minutes when Roy leaned back in his chair folding his arms and looking at her said, "Ask what you want to know."

Ella couldn't help but raise one of her brows at his direct question. It would be one of the few times he had come directly to the topic.

"I know it is direct. But I need to clear your doubts to ensure full co-operation from your side." He answered her unspoken question.

"There are many questions. But for now, what is the main operation going on behind the cover?"

"I told you. The operation is 'Faceless'. They go by the literal meaning of staying away from the limelight."

"You say they. How many?"

"Every person involved is representing its own continent, except Antarctica. I don't think many people stay there to represent from that part."

"So it is six of them who are leading this. Do you know their names?"

"You are straying away from the main topic, my dear."

"You said you will answer all of my questions."

"I did. But I don't trust this place fully to disclose such information." She kept quiet at that, reminding herself to ask him about it next time. She jumped to the next question.

"What weapons? If the operation involves all the continents then why would they make weapons for defending each other?"

"Good question", he said approvingly and continued, "Weapons do not necessarily have to be used for physical damage or announcing war. There are many other ways of inflicting damage worldwide."

She frowned at that and crossed her legs listening to him. "They are making weapons since a long time. In each and every thing that it has dominated the world and no one is aware of it. They need money for something really big this time. I still don't know what it is for but I do know that it would be fatal."

"How do we find out about it?"

"About what? Whether my theory is correct? Do you or do you not believe what I said until now?"

"I don't know." She stated frankly, "I can't merely base my opinions on mere theories."

"Spoken like a true King. Well then I can't speak anymore if you don't believe in it." He said getting up from the chair.

She said before he was about to open the door and exit, "Make me believe it then. Show me what you are telling about. I need to know every detail in your mind."

"That's not how we work." He said turning away from the door to face her.

Ella got up from her chair and walked to him, "That's how we will work. From now on. You want my help in executing this proposition then you will have to answer all my questions."

He smirked at that with the desirable expression she had seen when he would look at something too precious to let go of. She calmed her berating heart for looking into his eyes and feeling that. "You have the deal milady."

"Fair enough." This time the door opened with Ella exiting and leaving him with his thoughts. It has been too long since he had played an interesting game. All the deals he had negotiated would never take him too much time to gain from for himself. He had practiced it since he was thirteen, which was when he entered the Kingsly's employ.

Thinking about it, he couldn't forget the first time he had met Ella. Their story evolved in such a way to miss them out from their future children. Chuckling Roy leaned back in his chair placing his right leg on his left knee, with his hands supporting behind his head deep in those thoughts.

He was working at the stables under his new employer, who had given him some domestic work to warm up. Not to let go of his nature while he was a boy, that was to get anything of value; He had been washing the horses, when he found one of the horses to be hustling too much towards his back which it was unable to reach to. Pausing his cleaning he went over to the other horse to eradicate the fleas that may have led to itching, when he found that the horse was indeed hustling about to itch its back not due to the fleas but because of a shiny metal. He looked closer to find out it was a smooth chain stuck in the dense fur of the horse; he took out the chain to find it was a diamond chain. He wouldn't be wrong about that as he had been the one to steal such items. Thinking the day couldn't have been luckier he pocketed the chain. On a second thought, he thought of wearing it on his wrist as he wouldn't need to sell it when he has food and roof available for him; he was employed by the Kings' as the city says, so he had to keep up his reputation!

He did so and resumed his work of cleaning the animals, where he took extra care in cleaning the horse who had granted him such a grand gift. After his work, he thought of looking about the place. As no one had asked for him, the young boy thought it would be good to take a look around the place. He exited the stables which was located in the back of the big mansion in front of him. He rounded it to measure the length it was extending to only to find himself in the garden. He walked further, glancing at the colorful display. His eyes roamed around till the top to find ripe mangoes which made his stomach rumble looking at them. He wasted no time to pluck one and eat it. But he didn't stop there, he had eaten six of them at once, enjoying the sweetness he had never tasted until now. In response young Roy was throwing the seeds down while being seated comfortably on the branch of the tree; one of the seed came into contact with the gardener's head only for him to exclaim, 'God have mercy!' It was none other than Mr. John Walker who was carrying a trowel in his right hand dropped it on the impact of something falling on his head. While the man looked for what hurt his head, he was shocked to see a seed of the mango. Were the trees now dropping the seeds to plant more? He looked up to the tree believing it until he found a boy with his back to him. The shock turned to anger looking at what was happening to his precious fruits.
