Chapter 22 - Slice of Life

It's been some time since that new year's Eve I spent with Father.

Since then, nothing much has happened. I kept training with Ji Hoon-Hyung almost everyday. He still kept beating me every time in our little competitions. But I have to say though, I'm getting better and better because the difference between Hyung and me was each time less apparent.

That being said, there weren't a lot of people debuting in Father's company. That I know of, there's only Park Ji Yoon-noona, but I don't really talk with her. Now that I think about it, I kind of only talk with Hyung and that's it.

Well, basically I'm bored. That's the reason I'm having this kind of thoughts right now, I'm at class after all.

I was still sitting with Yoona, at the same school, with almost the same schedule.

While I was deep in my thoughts, I suddenly felt someone pinching my side. That was followed by a whisper.

— At least act like you're paying attention, Oppa. The Teacher is looking at you.

It was Yoona, apparently, our home teacher was paying attention to me. It was quickly confirmed by a deep voice.

— Chris. Since you think the class is that unimportant, why don't you simply leave? — I don't know why was he being like that, I'm not even bothering him. The teacher continued.

— Or even better, why don't you come to make this division I wrote at the blackboard.

I simply nodded, stood up and started walking towards the front of the classroom. At the corner of my eye, I could notice Yoona sticking her tongue out. She's going to pay for that.

Anyway, even though I wasn't paying attention to the class, I could easily solve the exercise he suggested. Simple long division.

I kind of multitasked because at the same time I was doing the division, I was thinking about how much I changed all this time since I left Guryong village.

Not only I've been training towards my dreams, but Sang Min Hyung and Father really insisted a lot in me preparing good enough in my education.

Specially Father, going as far as putting good grades as condition for me to keep training. Also, my little shack in Guryong has now changed to a recording room in the building, even though I spent a lot more of time sleeping in the trainee rooms.

I have to admit it, they're quite comfortable.

As I finished my line of thought, the long division was now completely solved.

The teacher was grumbling while I simply bowed at him and went to my seat, not forgetting to stick my tongue out towards Yoona. She was pouting while "angrily" looking at me.

The rest of the period was really uneventful. I started to pay attention to class so that I didn't have to go to the blackboard again.

Once I heard the bell ring, my whole body relaxed once again, and leaning my head against the table. I noticed Yoona was stretching his hands up in the air while saying.

— I'm really getting bored today, aren't you Oppa?

I rolled my eyes at her and said.

— Are you really going to keep calling me like that?

She teasingly said.

— What do you mean, Oppa? — she annoyingly tilted her head to look cute. I could only sigh and ignored her, but it was futile.

— Oh yes, Oppa. Today a friend of mine transferred here, What if we have lunch with her?

There's nothing for me to do but resign myself to follow Yoona's antics.

We ended up in front of a lower year classroom. Yoona confidently entered the room, while I waited outside while looking from the big window that all classrooms had by the sides.

Yoona simply signaled to a little girl with light brown hair, small eyes and big rosy cheeks.

—Ju Hyun-ah!! Did you miss me?

— Unnie!! — The little girl simply went running towards Yoona and hugged her.

They were apparently talking between them for a couple of minutes. That was until my patience expired and I loudly told her.

— Yah! — I exclaimed — Yoona! I'm really hungry, can we go eat now. — I noticed how everyone in the classroom suddenly got quiet while staring at me. Those stares weren't really that new for me, so I didn't care.

Yoona also didn't really care about my attitude, but it seems that I was a little too aggressive for the little girl, as she was hiding behind Yoona.

Yoona angrily glared at me while saying.

— Look what you did, Oppa, the little Ju Hyun-ah got scared — I could see the glint on her eyes that appeared for just a few seconds. — How are you going to repay her for that?

A frown appeared on my face, followed by a sigh. So that was her plan.... He wanted to eat my food.

Knowing she won, a smirk appeared on Yoona's face while she talked with the new little girl.

— Say thanks to Unnie Hyun-ah. You're going to be the second person in this school to taste HIS food. — a tickle of drool could be seen from the corner of her mouth. That glutton, really....

We ended going back to our own classroom to eat there, this time with Ju Hyun.

Fortunately, I did a lot of food because after Yoona tasted my food for the first time, she's kept asking for it everyday. I took out my lunch box, this time, I made some cream Spaghetti because I didn't have too much time. I gave Yoona some, and gave the new little girl some more.

If I must say, the best moment of cooking, is when I can see others expressions after tasting my food. That's the reason I kept giving Yoona food, even though I acted angry at her.

Both of them tasted my food, and while Yoona had an overboard expression, feigning some tears. The other little girl had a more modest reaction, but it could still be noted that she enjoyed it.

— Didn't I tell you? Didn't I? Shouldn't you be thanking me? — said Yoona with her mouth full.

— Yah, shouldn't it be me the one to receive some thanks? — just as I said that, the little girl stood up, bowed at me and said.

— I'm really thankful for the food, Oppa.

Well, now it was awkward, she actually bowed to me....

I dismissed her saying.

— Ehh don't do that, I actually enjoy cooking, just keep eating. — The girl was really cute, was it Ju Hyun? How could someone so pure like her be mischievous Yoona's friend?

It was really amusing for me to compare both of their expressions while eating. Yoona suddenly Interrupted my expression.

— Oppa, aren't you going to join SM?

I shook my head and said.

— I think I will actually audition for YG.

— YG? Doesn't that make us rivals? — that was one way of thinking about it.

— What, are you going to get scared? — I teasingly said, but Yoona inmediately frowned while saying.

— Not s chance, just wait for me to beat you at everything. — she was inmediately pouting. She then changed her objective to Ju Hyun ah.

— Oh yes Hyun ah, Are you joining SM?

A sad smile appeared on Ju Hyun's face while saying.

— Unnie, you know my parents don't want me to be a singer... — she was really crestfallen. I wanted to cheer her up so I said.

— It's perfectly logical for them to want the easiest route for you, being a singer is not the easiest route. But isn't it perfectly logical too for you to pursue your dreams? — I'm going to note that one down, I must really be a genius.

— Yes yes, Oh Wise Master — Said Yoona in an overboard fashion — See, didn't I told you he wanted to look cool and wise?— Yoona roasted me like that, almost instantly.

A little chuckle came from Ju Hyun, and it was actually the first time for me to see her like that. So, a smile formed on my face. And we ended up finishing the meal while being quiet.

I really needed to eat well, because my plans for today involved an audition to YG that Father helped me prepare for.

Anyway, as we finished eating, we said our goodbyes, before Ju Hyun went back to her classroom.

The rest of the day was quite uneventful, but as the moment of the audition was getting near, I could only get more nervous with each breath. I really hope everything goes well in the audition today...
