Chapter 25 - Chapter 24: The Familiar Feeling

When she was playing the game, she had only finished Alistair's storyline before she rested. However, even in Alistair's storyline, Sylvester and Yurian appeared numerous times as Alistair's and Marianne's friends, and she got to know about all their characters even without playing their storylines.

She knew that Yurian was characterised after the sun. He was spiritually sensitive, he loved nature, he was smart but kind and warm. When she was playing the gameplay, Yurian had also gotten ice-cream in his hair, but Marianne had helped him wipe his hair with a handkerchief and Yurian had flashed her with a bright smile, "You really are similar to my older sister."

When the incident happened, she tried to copy what Marianne did since she was the closest to him. She did not expect him to react so vehemently. Alistair and Marianne who had just finished buying their ice-cream were surprised at Yurian's disappearance, but Sylvester explained offhandedly about the situation.

"If you don't mind, I'll go find him with the ice-cream later," Libitina said. "You can return to the shop first since Mr. Alistair has bought some items, and he can place them down then."

Alistair looked up at the orange sky. Without him noticing, they had already spent an entire day wandering around town, and evening has arrived.

"Well, we will head back first, then, Libby. Are you sure you will be alright by yourself?" Alistair asked her, but Libitina could tell that it was a perfunctory question.

"Yes."

"Libby, we will see you back at the hotpot restaurant. You have been a great help and tour guide to us, let's spend some time together chatting tonight," Marianne held Libitina's hand gently as a sincere smile hung on her face.

"Yes, take care."

When the trio returned to their horse-drawn cart that Alistair had parked to the side, Marianne saw Alistair activate a butterfly Melody. She watched it flutter away before looking at Alistair expectantly.

"I'm informing Yurian that Libby is going to look for him and that we will be heading back to the restaurant first," Alistair sighed at her inquisitiveness.

"Well, they will be fine, won't they? Since Yurian will be with her."

"Of course."

Libitina held the triple-layered ice as she walked around, searching for the familiar blonde head. She did not know why she wanted to find Yurian when she knew he could have walked back on his own. Maybe, she simply did not like leaving loose ends untied, and she wanted to make sure that Yurian was not mad at her.

Even if it meant having to find him when he did not want to be found.

It was a selfish desire. While Marianne and she had gotten very close as girlfriends, the connection she felt with Yurian was different, as if she instinctively knew she could trust him. She was cautious about the strangeness of all this, but she could not deny that she was lonely, and very, very thirsty for this kind of companionship.

What was her role, after all? Would she ever see them again? In this context, if they were to leave on bad terms…would Marianne and Yurian be more likely to erase her from their memories?

So Libitina held the ice-cream in her hands and went to several washrooms, but the blonde head was never seen.

In the vibrance of the evening sun, the ice-cream slowly melted from the heat, dripping down the cup like a sad collapsing sand dune.

She looked at the ice-cream fall into the trash bin, and gradually started the long walk back to the hotpot restaurant.
