It was getting busier in the shop because of the advertisement they filmed with Xian Han and Ming Fan, the two popular presenters. Many rich, or crazy, fans had gone to the shop and bought the jewelries that they had worn in the advertisement.
Lin was worn out. She had to try to convince her customers that their jewelries were the best choice for them and she had to choose which ones to recommend them. She greeted them and walked all around the shop to help people find what they wanted.
She was also tired because Shen gave her a scare the day before and she couldn't sleep at night. The memories from watching the horror movie flashed through her mind as soon as Shen walked out the door. Her uncle did not come home that night either because he was sleeping at the Tang Residence for a night, so she was all alone in her big mansion. She also had to wake up early in the morning, so she had only about four hours of sleep.
Tang Lin had just got back home from the jewelry shop and she threw herself on the couch. When she checked her phone, she saw that her boyfriend texted her.
The message said, "I'm coming to pick you up in an hour."
"Where are we going?" She asked.
"You'll see. Just get ready and I'll tell you when we get there."
"Okay," she replied.
She went upstairs and changed into a black dress with a cardigan. Then, she touched up her makeup and put her hair into a donut bun. Strands of hair were loose at the sides and she wore black high heels. She also wore a small shoulder bag to go along with her outfit. Her casual look was more beautiful than a woman who dressed up for a red carpet.
The door bell rang and she walked down the stairs. When she opened the door, she saw a handsome man in a very dark blue suit with a big bouquet in his hands. His appearance would make any woman fall for him and it would make them do anything for him.
The young man gave her the flowers and said, "Happy one-week anniversary!"
"Thank you, dear!" She took the bouquet and smelled its fragrance. Then, she brought it inside to put it in a vase.
As she filled the vase with water, Shen walked into the house and hugged her from behind. Lin had to walk all the way to the dining room and put the vase full of flowers on the table with Shen holding her waist right behind her.
Right when she set it down, he turned her around and kissed her deeply on the lips. After a time that seemed like an hour, but was really twenty seconds, Lin pulled away from him and held his arm.
"Let's go. I'm still wondering where you'll take me later," she said as they smiled at each other and she led them to the car.
They held each others' hands as Shen drove to the surprise destination. However, Lin felt like she left something important at home. Then, she looked at her hand that was entangled in her boyfriend's hand and she remembered as she saw the shiny ring on his hand.
"Oh my gosh! I forgot my ring at home! Let's go back!"
Shen calmly said, "It's okay. It's just one day, and we already drove far from your house. You can put it back on when we get back."
"Okay. I'm sorry. I forgot all about it when I woke up this morning. I was busy getting ready to go to the shop."
"It's fine. Being the owner of a famous jewelry shop isn't easy. It's normal for you to forget some things," he mentioned as he raised her hand and kissed it.
They arrived at a two-story restaurant and Lu Shen reserved the whole balcony, so they could eat in peace.
"So, when are we going to tell our parents?" Lin asked.
"Tell them what?"
"That we're in a relationship!" She stated the obvious.
"We're in a relationship? Usually, couples say that they love each other before they get into a relationship. I already said that to you, but I haven't heard it back yet."
"I already expressed it through my actions."
"Aw, come on! Pleeeaase!! I haven't heard you say it to me yet!"
After a few seconds, he heard her mumbling under her breath.
"Huh? What did you say? I didn't hear you. Speak up, honey."
"I said I love you!!" She blushed and covered her face, so he wouldn't see her shyness.
He walked around the table and smooched her on the cheek multiple times. He hugged her tight and swayed her lightly.
"Me too, dear!!"
When they finished eating, the sky was already dark and the only light came from the bright stars. There were lights appearing from below, at the front of the building. When the lights near the restaurant were lit up, Lin saw the candle lit pathway under them. It led to the beautiful garden in front. Suddenly, the curtains in the inside of the restaurant and the doors opened. Her boyfriend motioned for her to hold his arm and she complied. He walked her into the restaurant with candles lit everywhere. The bright chandelier also added light to the room. As they walked down the stairs, nobody was there except for the two employees that opened the door for them. When they went outside, it looked like a dream. There were floating lanterns in the sky and candles and beautiful flowers were at the sides of the sidewalk. They walked side by side towards the garden and on the bridge.
"Did you prepare all of this? This is so beautiful!" Tang Lin was amazed at the beautiful sights she saw while standing on the bridge. The lights of the stars and candles were in the reflection of the water.
Shen didn't respond, so Lin turned to look at him and saw him staring straight into her eyes.
"Lin, you may not know this, but before we met again at the Tang Residence, I always went to your jewelry shop early in the mornings to see how you were doing. You always worked with a smile on your face and I just wanted to snatch you and take you home with me. I've always remembered our childhood days and I wished for them to come back. You were the only motivation for me all my life. I waited to become a successful man in order to be your husband. I know you might've thought that I was such a perfect man and that I would've chosen a better person than you, but to me, you're the only person I would ever be with. You might've thought that I would stop loving you after all these years, but I will always be loving you no matter what you do."
He knelt down and said, "Tang Lin, would you like to become my Madam Lu and marry me?"
Lin was so lost. She was still trying to understand what he said earlier and now he asked if he wanted to marry her. The man who treated her wounds and took care of her in the past and in the present just asked if he could be with her for the rest of their lives.
She was so touched by his proposal and she started crying after she saw him take out the ring she thought she had forgotten at home. It turns out that he secretly took it from her the night before.
"Yes!! Yes!! I will marry you!"
He chuckled and smiled at her as he heard her response. He slipped the ring onto her ring finger and got up. Then, he held her neck and kissed her under the starlight.
"I love you."
"I love you, too."
