Chapter 4 - The Merman- Chapter 4

I dashed into my kitchen like a mad man and instantly started searching for scissors. After finding them, I dashed back outside and straight into the water. Not sparing another single glance at the WiFi people, in order to preserve my embarrassment. The merman was still there. Staring at me. I showing him the scissors before demonstrating on the tiniest strand of hair. I moved closer to his tail before clipping the net slowly. His tail shook vigorously. I quickly went back up for air before continuing. After a few seconds, he swam out of the net on his own, his eyes glowing with happiness. I smiled to myself. I just saved a life! What a good person I am.

He then came back up to me. I looked at him confused before his hand touched my face. I was extremely confused but wanted to go up for water, but before I could, he held me down. My heart dropped.

"No,no, no, I just saved your life! Now your going to kill me!" I wanted to say, but I knew I shouldn't waste my breath. His hands held my face in place as I tried to wiggle out of his grip, my goggles flew right off.

"God no! Please! Wait! Let me at least leave a note for my-" I was interrupted when the merman kissed me.

I instantly stopped moving in his strong grip. My face starting to burn and my mind went a bit fuzzy. I was so confused. He finally parted and stared at me. I wanted to smack him!

"How dare you-" I instantly paused. I then realized I had been under water for more that a minute. Why hadn't I passed out? I stared at the merman who was staring back at me.

"You didn't, you couldn't-" I instantly looked down and made a sigh of relief when I saw that I still had two legs. I looked back up at him.

Without him being stuck in a net, I was able to scan him properly, he had dark black hair yet his skin was extremely pale. That being said, he wasn't scrawny looking and he had some, muscles to him? Oh wow, I blushed. I was checking him out. He continued to stare at me.

"Thank you." I said breaking the silence, hoping he could hear me, bubbles floated out of my mouth. His eyes widened before he's tail waved a bit.

"You are welcome." He said. My eyes instantly brightened as I smiled happily.

"Wow, this is... Beyond what was expecting." I said, carefully examining his tale. He passed me a small brown nut of some kind. I looked at him confused.

"For saving my life." He said. I scoffed and brushed off the imaginary dust on my shoulders.

"It was nothing, ya know. I just saw something bad happening and my gut told me I had to help-" he passed the nut into my hand.

"And maybe I wasn't as willing the the beginning, but then I thought about it and-"

I blinked and he was gone. I blinked again.

"W-What?! I was in the middle of my story!" I said. I then realized how much I was talking, I covered my mouth and blushed.

"Did I just talk to an actual merman??" I thought to myself, I then quickly stood up from the water. The sky had already turned dark again.

"What.. I didn't know I was down there for so long." I said quietly. Rushing out of the water, I made a dash back to the house. Not sparing a single glance at the dark blue water. That crashed a bit more violently. I sighed, at least the WiFi people were gone. I died while thinking about how crazy I probably looked.
