Synopsis

A Different World

The Delecosta family have always been the most powerful family after the Royals but never married into the Royal family. This had been a rule that had existed since the first Delacosta. Why? Because that way they were always separate to the Royals, a separate entity that would never have a relation to the Royal family. This had stood true for more than a thousand years, the Delecosta's were the loyal Prime Ministers of the Royals.

As a young girl, Fi had always wondered why she was never allowed friends. It was rather odd, honestly. So she had to sneak out of the palace and pretend to be someone else, that stood true until she met Richard. He was like her, too powerful and hidden from everyone, told to be tame. But can beast be tamed when meeting another beast? Perhaps if she was tame, but this beast he was with was much worse than him, she was a free spirit escaping her cage for a second of freedom, he was her freedom.

Delecosta was the house of the Light and the Royals were the house of the Dark, opposites in most ways. The Delecosta's had hair darker than ashes, and the Royals had light hair, the colour of the sun. As they were both native to the Continent, they had skin the colour of sunshine, golden and glowing. Only Royals have eyes like diamonds, a fact only known to those in the Capital, upon marrying a Royal the temple blesses the pair and both are blessed with diamond eyes and the same hair colour to bless their marriage.

From a young age everyone in her family stayed away from Fi, her powers were superior to any other being to exist. She was smarter, faster, stronger, better than everyone, a being everyone envied and feared. She was simply the most ideal being to have been borne, immune to poisons, healing almost immediately when getting cut, she was blessed. She had regular meetings with the Goddess in her dreams, forging a beautiful relationship with the Goddess from a young age, everything she knew was from the Goddess. The only real mother she had was the Goddess even in this realm the Goddess had created there was another child, neither children knew each other but could see each other, vaguely but surely. Fi had always wondered who he was, so one day she asked who that child was.

The Goddess told her his location on a particular day, and Fi and Richy met for the first time. Two children blessed and raised by the Goddess, but their mother figure being the Goddess was a secret from all those around them. It was their secret, the three superior beings of the Continent had their own family unknown to everyone around them.

The Royal family was much worse than even the Delecosta family. Two parents that simply did not care about their off-spring or each other, her mother was a materialistic woman and her father a coward with a harem the size of the ocean. She had had a brother once, someone with a presence and voice so calming it would make her want to listen to it every day of her life, he was the oldest child. She would stick to him every day like a piece of gum to a shoe, and he loved her too, they were opposites, fire and water, but their love was something she had only felt with the Goddess and Richy.

Then he became sick due to poison, poison from a jealous family. Her wonderful brother died in agony, disappeared in second. After he left she started seeing the Goddess, her pain birthed a blessing, as a Royal who had so much love, the blessing that was once supposed to go to her wonderful brother went to her, her love for him and his for her, a mutual sibling love. Such love was pure and untainted by the world, no jealousy, treachery or selfishness, just love.

Richy was the oldest of his siblings, someone who had pressure placed on him from the second he was born, to be better than everyone else. The Goddess took a liking to Richy's softness and kindness, his refusal to conform to the pressures and stay true to himself. Such people were rare, they needed to be treasured and placed into power.

After Richy and Fi turned eighteen, they only saw the Goddess on the first night of the month, on that night the Kingdom would sleep peacefully and the flora would be more fruitful. It was also why they were the best rulers the Kingdom ever had, they were blessed by the Goddess, and thus the Kingdom was blessed by the Goddess.

"Richy, one day I'm going to leave the Kingdom and I won't let my kids suffer like my brother. I want them to live normal lives, and then when they come to rule, they'll be the best rulers in the entire world!" Little Fi had such thoughts from a very young age, she had seen the dealings of the court, the schemes of the harem and the nonchalance of her parents when her brother died. Richy held her hand and nodded.

"Take me with you Fi, please don't leave me behind. I'll be alone without you." Words that Richy said with a deeper meaning than the Fi of that time knew, yet both hearts were happy for the same reason, they both wanted to be together.

Duchess Delacosta was a woman with great pride, she always thought that she knew what was best for every single person around her. Such a quality was an annoyance for her husband, children and the servants, she was simply too overbearing. But Richy was the apple of her eye, he could do no harm and was her perfect child, so he never saw this side of her. Not until he wanted to marry Fi. His childhood was seemingly blissful compared to even his siblings, he was the golden child, but the loneliness on his pedestal was only gone when he met Fi.

Duke Delacosta was a man that was slyer than a fox, if he was a fairy tale villain he would have overly gelled hair, with a think mustache curling at either end, he would have slimy skin, and would be incredibly skinny. But in reality, like his wife, Duke Delacosta was extremely good looking, where else would Richy get his looks from? His dark hair complemented his light skin, his eyes like pools of honey and his face was shaved clean. His body was well build and had always been muscular, he was charming and charismatic, which hid his deceit and hatred.

People are beings that can hide their true intentions behind a mask for unlimited amounts of time, greed is much more powerful than soft love. But pure love continues to beat greed, time and time again, romance may not seem real, but it exists in the bones of literature.
