On the way back to the ship, Xiu Ying explained to the four of them of what occurred last night. She deliberately said that the rebel had drowned in the river, getting rid of any suspicions that Mo Fan and Cheng-Ming may have about Feng Yu. Xiu Ying then told them that an old guard of her father, named Li Wei, had rescued her from the river. She was surprised to hear from Cheng-Ming that Li Wei was his uncle.
When they arrived at the ship, Li Wei didn't expect that Xiu Ying would bring him some new guests, and one of them would be his nephew. He then ordered Ming to carry Feng Yu back to his room and brew him some medicine. Xiu Ying also heads back to her room with Jin Hai, and Luo Li. She had asked for Li Wei to distract Mo Fan and Cheng-Ming for a while until she finished talking to Jin Hai and Luo Li.
Xiu Ying had never thought that Mo Fan and Cheng-Ming would follow her back to the ship. She had thought that they would leave after they found out that she was fine, but they didn't. Xiu Ying had no choice but to take Jin Hai and Luo Li to her room to have a private conversation.
In Xiu Ying's room, Jin Hai and Luo Li didn't dare say a word or make a noise. She was sitting at her table, calmly having tea when she suddenly spoke, "I know you guys remember the rebel's face."
"Yes, we do," replied Jin Hai and Luo Li at the same time.
Jin Hai watched as Xiu Ying finished a cup of tea. "Master, why don't you let young master Mo Fan and Cheng-Ming know?"
"It will be complicated if they both know. The fewer people know of Feng Yu's identity, the better. The only people who know of his identity are the two of you, uncle Li Wei and me. I want you both to keep quiet about this, understand?" ordered Xiu Ying as she slammed the teacup on to the table.
"Yes! We understand master," chanted Jin Hai and Luo Li as they looked down to the floor.
"Luo Li, consider this as a test for you. Don't make me lose my trust in you."
"Yes, master. I won't make you lose trust in me."
Xiu Ying got up from her seat and head to Feng Yu's room. 'Luo Li may have been with me for three years, but it doesn't change the fact that she used to work for my father.'
Jin Hai and Luo Li followed her but stayed outside the room to guard the door. When Xiu Ying walked into Feng Yu's room, Ming had finished brewing his medicine and was about to feed him.
"Servant Ming, you can take a rest now. I can feed him his medicine."
"As you wish, Sir Ying."
"Thank you for your help."
"There's no need to thank me; I'm just doing my job. Oh, I almost forgot. Sir Ying, young master has been looking for you. You should go see him after."
"Thanks for letting me know. I will see him after I finish up here. Tell him that he needs to be a good boy and wait patiently for me."
"Yes, Sir Ying. I will relay your message to him."
Ming left the room and closed the door. Xiu Ying took a glance at Feng Yu before she lifted the bowl of medicine. 'Why is it that the more I look at you, the more you resemble him. I must be insane.'
After she fed Feng Yu the medicine, she heard a knock at the door and went to open it. Li Yu jumped in the room and hugged Xiu Ying by the legs. "Big brother Ying, I miss you so much."
Xiu Ying smiled and bent down to look at him. She then put an index finger to her lips and said, "Shh, big brother Feng Yu is still asleep. Let's close the door first; then we can talk."
Li Yu nods his head, agreeing what to Xiu Ying said. After she closed the door, she bent down again to be at the same level as Li Yu.
"Didn't Servant Ming relay my message?"
"Yes, he did, but my dad had sent me to come take you to his study room."
"Okay... but why did your father send you? Why not sent servant Ming?"
"Uncle Ming had to go to the kitchen to prepare dinner."
"Why does your father want to see me?"
"I don't know, but he's been talking a lot with my cousin and that old uncle.
Xiu Ying laughed when she heard Li Yu called Mo Fan "old uncle." Jin Hai and Luo Li were surprised that their cold miss, Princess Xiu Ying had laughed.
Xiu Ying picked Li Yu up and headed to Li Wei's study room. Along the way, she joked and laughed with him. Jin Hai and Luo Li silently followed from behind. They felt that Xiu Ying had become warmer since they last saw her.
When they arrived at the study room, Li Wei ordered some servants to take Li Yu back to his room. Xiu Ying took a seat across from Mo Fan and Cheng-Ming while Jin Hai and Luo Li stood behind her. A servant came up to Xiu Ying's table to serve her some tea.
"Why have you guys stopped talking? Continue."
"Cheng-Ming and I will be leaving tomorrow morning. You should head back with us as well."
"I won't be leaving."
"Uncle and father are worried about you. Before I left, father had told me to take you back. He put you in my protection. I can't just leave you here."
Xiu Ying had enough. She looked up to face Mo Fan and said, "Brother Mo Fan, please know your place. You are in no position to tell me if I should leave or stay. And as I had said many times before, I can protect myself. I also have Jin Hai and Luo Li here with me, so I don't need any protection from you. I will be heading back to my room now. Please excuse me, uncle."
Xiu Ying bowed to Li Wei and left the room coldly and calmly. She didn't spare Mo Fan anytime to say a word. Jin Hai and Luo Li just quietly followed Xiu Ying out the room. Deep inside, Jin Hai and Luo Li pity Mo Fan. In the past, Xiu Ying had been easy on him, but this time, she was harsh.
