Shortly after Xiu Ying left the ship, Feng Yu also left. He sent a messenger bird to let his uncle, Feng Yan know that he will be meeting him at the grave from last night. When Feng Yu got there, he was already there standing, facing the tombstone waiting for him.
"Uncle..." Feng Yu called out. He then steadily walked up to stand next to him.
When Feng Yu was about to explain how he found this tombstone, Feng Yan cut him off by saying, "There's no need to explain, I'm glad we found him."
"Uncle, if he's dead then why are we still revolting against Emperor Song?" asked Feng Yu seeing that his uncle was unmoved by the finding of the second prince Jian Yu's grave. Feng Yu had believed that if the second prince Jian Yu is dead then his uncle would stop his plan to overthrow Emperor Song. All the royal Huang family members are all dead, there is no successor to the throne.
After hearing Feng Yu's question. Feng Yan's face filled with resentment. He turned to faced Feng Yu who was standing next to him.
"Feng Yu, do you even know what you are saying. They are the people who killed your family in cold blood. How can you just let this slide."
"I...I...I apologize uncle. I just want to live a normal life in the Misty Village peacefully, no war, no deaths."
"Feng Yu…..," Feng Yan hesitated before continuing, "In three days from now, the palace will hold a banquet. We will enter as performers; we will take this chance to overthrow Prime Minister Song and avenge your parents."
"But…"
"There are no buts. We need to leave to prepare. I've sent my people to the capital already. Let's leave."
Feng Yu had no choice but to follow his uncle to the capital. They are heading to the capital three days in advance to study the surroundings and make plans.
The holding of a banquet in the palace was abruptly made. An announcement was made but it never said what the banquet was for.
When Feng Yu and Feng Yan reached the east gate of the capital, there was a long line of people waiting to pass through the gates. Today there are more guards at the gate than usual.
While waiting in line Feng Yu overheard some gossip from the people in front. It was two old uncles having a conversation.
"Hey, have you heard, a couple of days ago some rebels got into the capital to rescue some prisoners."
"Shh, don't talk too loud. You might get arrested."
"Okay, okay..."
"Well go on."
"You see all these guards. Since the palace had announced that there will be a banquet in three days, they've sent all these guards to monitor who gets in and who gets out of the capital. There's a chance that the rebels will strike again that night."
"How can this be?"
"I know right, if the rebels were to strike that night, there's a high chance they won't be able to escape because for the whole day all the gates will be closed and the following day."
"Isn't this too overboard?"
"There's nothing too overboard. Emperor Song and his people have been beheading all rebels they had caught not even sparing children."
"Not even children? How evil, how evil."
"Shhh. You don't want to be silenced for slandering the emperor."
"I know, I know. Wait, by the way, what is the banquet for?"
"No one really knows. But I have heard a couple of speculations going around. The most popular one was that the banquet is held to introduce the princess to the capital's noblemen."
"The Princess? Princess Xiu Ying who has never shown her face to the public??"
"Yes, yes. The princess had already reached marriageable age but doesn't have a fiancé."
"Ohhh, how can I forget. But, who would want to marry her? She had always worn a veil when she appears in public. None of us know what she looks like. Even the palace guards and maids have never seen her face too."
"I heard that only the people closest to her have seen her face."
"I also had once heard a rumor that she had a large scar on her face. That's the reason why she always wears a veil."
"Really? If that's so then who would dare to marry her. Who would want to marry a woman with a scar on their face."
"Right?"
"Shhh, we're up next."
"Uhh okay."
The two old uncles ended their conversation and entered through the gate. Feng Yan and Feng Yu were two-person behind them. The whole time, Feng Yu had been immersed in their conversation. He had never heard that Emperor Song had a princess. Even his uncle had never talked about him having a child.
Before Feng Yu and his uncle were able to enter through the gate, a group of people rushed to the front, cutting in line. One person was on their own horse while the other was driving the carriage. A weird thing was they had a veil bamboo hat on. The carriage itself was luxurious that it seems out of place in the crowd of people.
"Hey, what are you doing? You can't go through without inspection first," a guard yelled at the person on the horse.
The person on the horse didn't care much and hold out a badge with the royal family's crest. The guard's mouth went dry. "I… I… this lowly guard deeply apologizes to princess Xiu Ying. You may enter."
The guard's voice was loud to the point the people in line heard him address Xiu Ying. The people in line rush forward trying to take a peek at Xiu Ying who was in the carriage but sadly, cloths covered the windows and doors of the carriage. Feng Yu who also heard and tried to take a peak. Before the people got even more out of control some guards came rushing to push the people back in line.
Xiu Ying who was annoyed by the catering occurring outside her carriage loudly says, "Curiosity can lead people to greatness, but it can also lead them to their death. I can make that day nearer if you want."
The people outside the carriage went speechless. Xiu Ying was giving them a warning not to be too noisy because she can have them killed right on the spot. After hearing the people outside her carriage went quiet, she then ordered Jin Hai and Luo Li to head to the palace. The people at the front gate went back to their normal state in fear.
'Like father like daughter, how can a person be so ruthless?' Thought Feng Yu as he and his uncle passed through the gate. They headed for an old motel in the remote area of the capital. By the motel stand a couple of houses and an orphanage with lower-class citizens.
