Chereads / Love At First Gaze / Chapter 58 - Evidence

Chapter 58 - Evidence

Tired of walking around to entertain the animals at the party, Lily clapped twice for the lights to switch back on. Before she made another movement, Lin Que had already given the signal for one of his people to bring her a chair. As he watched from the crowd, he waited for the perfect opportunity to make a memorable appearance.

Sitting straight on the chair, Lily scanned everyone as if her eyes were X-ray scanners and could tell whose bones her fearless gaze froze. Arrogantly curving her lips, she said, "Very well. I don't need to repeat myself to know everyone here heard my words without any ear wax problem. Now, let's begin."

Flipping through the stack of pages on her lap, she separated a third of the section and fanned herself with it. With photos as evidence, she said, "The following clarifications are not as important to me compared to my parent's issue. Still, I don't want to waste this great opportunity to slap sprinkle salt on your bruised faces."

Spreading the papers out like a fan, Lily's crystal manicure sparkled under the lighting as she uploaded some pictures to the WeChat group with all socialites in it. Previously, Toby had someone add an anonymous account to the chat for her. "This stash of the document are all proof with before and after photos of Meng Meng's first to most recent plastic surgery. I'm pretty sure it's obvious by now of what she's done to her face."

"Although having plastic surgery isn't a crime and I have nothing against people wanting to chase after perfection, I am only playing this game fair and square. From previous group histories, Meng Meng mentioned plastic surgery and disfigured rumors about my face. To clarify that, a picture of me in my childhood, teenage life and current look could be seen in the group as well."

"That's not enough to prove you didn't have plastic surgery!" Meng Meng scoffed as she watched the hilarious expressions on people's faces. They felt the burn across their face as if someone had literally slapped both cheeks.

"Of course. Therefore, I'm willing to have one of the most famous plastic surgeons feel my face and tell everyone the results. Whether you want it inspected here or my own, I don't care at all. Plus, if you compare my facial features with my parent's you can find the similarities. If anyone wants to dig deeper into it, then find some private investigator to look up my medical history."

"While you guys waste money on that, I already showed proof of Meng Meng's surgeries. I have also taken the photos that she had previously photoshopped to a professional. A video from the professional is uploaded to the chat as well. All the pictures Meng Meng had sent was all edited. If my nose became as crooked as this picture, there should be obvious cuts on my face."

"Anyways, I'm not wearing any foundation today. I'm showing these pictures of Meng Meng's past look when she still looked like her parents. Compare that photo to her super small, V-oval shaped jaw that's curvier than an anime character, small puppet-tip nose and huge puppy eyes; how natural is her face?"

"Like I said, I have nothing against people chasing after perfection. But I do not tolerate people like her who slanders people like drinking water. She looks down on people because they are better looking than her. She's insecure, yet bitchy about everything around her. She complains about her life by dragging others down and doesn't make changes to improve herself. Those of you who told her your secrets should piss your pants because it's most likely spread around the circle already."

Lily kept her lips closed as she flipped through more pages on her lap. The previous documents were passed around for the crowd to look at. Seeing her raise another stash of the document in her hands, Meng Meng already wanted to beg for forgiveness. Except, the look in Lily's eyes was merciless, making her subconsciously shiver from where she stood.

"Meng Meng and the rest of the group seemed to have quite an interest in my sexual preferences. First of all, none of you knew me personally. Therefore, none of you had the right to make up rumors and spread it. Whether I like men, women, both or none is my business. When did it become a heated topic as interesting as Meng Meng's relationship life?"

Passing around the documents from her hand, Meng Meng's ridiculous party hosting history was spreading to everyone. "I don't see a problem in having a simple relationship without the need of exposing or bragging about it. If you like someone or found someone who knows you well, then good for you. I don't think publicizing relationships are important as long as your relationship is strong."

"Of course, this is just my view of a relationship. Many people like Meng Meng wouldn't spare a second of drama when she gets into a relationship. The papers I sent around only disclose the many parties she hosted for getting a new boyfriend. Before speaking about me or forming baseless rumors, you should take a look at your history first."

Leaning against the back of the chair with less than half of the file left in her hands; Lily smirked as her eyes scanned more pages of Meng Meng's dirty deeds. Rubbing her chin as she reviewed the documents in her hand, confident smirks could be seen curving on her lips.

"Oh? Bribing into college, dealing with drugs, prostitution for money and many more ridiculous lined up rumors. If anyone had the brains, he or she would realize the inconsistency of her lies. If I bribed my way in and out of college like she had said, then those of you whom I've helped during college wouldn't have graduated. You know who you guys are, so I don't have to name anyone."

"Dealing with drugs is a crime. If any of you have suspicions of me circulating drugs the way she described it, then call the police to arrest me. If none of you are brave enough to call the police, then you shouldn't speak as if you know the truth. Prostitution for money and bags? You guys can easily ask around my campus and see how I spent my college years."

"Oh, don't forget to look at the scholarship department. My name is there for every semester I've been studying in college. I've been working to gain experience, as I see no point in wasting life by spending my family's name and money. Besides, as an adult, it's normal to spend your hard-earned money. As for the jobs I worked as, anyone can find out with a simple search. The news announced it before."

Feeling tired of speaking and losing interest in say more, she decided it was time to wrap up this game.
