Chereads / The Beta System / Chapter 24 - Prophecy

Chapter 24 - Prophecy

After a few seconds, Grace had revived. She looked at Clinton and kneeled down on the ground. She put her hands on top of her knees and lowered her head to the point where it was only a few centimeters away from touching her hands, and said, "Master, please take care of me from now on."

"Sure-" Clinton began to say subconsciously, then realized what Grace just said and stopped himself. "Wait! What did you just call me!?"

"Master."

"Why are you calling me master!?"

"Was that not what you wanted to request? Then..." Grace stood up, reached into her pocket, and pulled out a long whip. She took Clinton's hand, and place the whip in his hand. Then she reached into her pocket and took out a rope, and she handed the rope to Clinton, too. She lay down on the ground, with her hands and legs held closely together. "It's my first time... so please be gentle, kay?"

Clinton felt blood surging in his nose, and he covered his nose and mouth with his hand. "What are you doing!?"

"I thought boys would request these kinds of these. At least, that's what I was told," said Grace.

Clinton facepalmed. "Yeah, sure, but we aren't so shameless."

"Really? But my sister tried it a few times in front of a few different boys, and each time the guy got extremely excited and tried to do the things that shall not be mentioned. But my sister beat them up though."

"... So if I actually tried to do something to you, you would beat me up?"

"No, I can't beat you even if I want to. Plus, I did lose, and we did agree that the winner can ask the loser to do anything, and I fully intended to keep the promise. Not to mention, there's also the system contract. You can't disobey the contract, apparently. I have no idea how the system enforces the contract, but it's not like I need to know. So, please, do it to your heart's content!"

"No, I'm not like that. Please get up. I'm just going to request you to tell me the reason why you challenged me."

"I see... is it because I'm not attractive enough?"

"No, no, no, that's not the problem here! You're a girl, so please act more reserved."

"Okay, then," said Grace. She pushed herself away from the ground and stood up.

"So, would you please tell me the reason why you kept wanting to fight me?"

"Yes, it would be my pleasure," said Grace. "I am from the Glen family, and my family is bounded by fate. Our family has a legend that has been passed down for generations. It is said that the children of the leader of the family will, on the day of their birth, get a prophecy, and that prophecy will determine who the children's future partner is. My prophecy was said that the first person to defeat me in a fight would become my future partner."

"But why do you go out and challenge people? Couldn't you just find someone you love, then challenge the person and lose intentionally?"

"That doesn't work. For the fight to count, 3 conditions must be fulfilled. First, the I have to be the person who challenges others, in other words, I must be the challenger. Second, I must use my full strength and not hold anything back when I fight. Third, I must be at least 10 years old. Any fight before I am 10, regardless of who I fought with and regardless of the result, the fight doesn't count."

"Ehhhhhh... seriously, you believed that?" said Clinton.

"Now that you know, please take care of me from now on, darling~."

"Wait, what did you call me!?"

"Darling~~."

"Wait a minute! Why are you calling me darling all of a sudden!?"

"I've already told you, didn't I? We are bound by fate, so let's start getting intimate right now." As she was speaking, Grace wrapped her arms around Clinton's arm.

"Hold up a minute! You don't have to do this if you don't want to!"

"But I want to."

"But your family won't agree, right?"

"I am sure they will, but we can go meet them right now and ask," said Grace.

"Let's go then," said Clinton.

"I hadn't expect our relationship to escalate so quickly to the point that we're already meeting my parents, but this is good, too."

"..."

Grace took out her phone from her pocket and called someone and said something. some time later, a car showed up outside of the alley.

"Now then, let's go, darling."

"Su-sure," said Clinton.
