Chapter 21 - Settling things in New York, on to the next recruitment

"Although this road has had some ups and downs, but... it's the journey that matters!" SuWan tidied up his clothes while glancing at the boss who was lying on the ground and covering his head. He said gracefully, "Alright, that was me just making a funny joke with you. Of course, I came all the way here to talk about business."

"Dotty!" SuWan shouted, and Dotty quickly picked up another bottle of wine and handed it over.

SuWan smiled, and then said to the owner, "I want to buy this place from you, can you please tell me your minimum selling price?"

"This... here? I... can I... not sell?" The boss fumbled over himself as he internally battled with his fear of the man in front of him.

"Of course..." SuWan waved with a smile.

*boom*

Another wine bottle came down.

"... not. Didn't I say I came all of this way, how could I return empty-handed and nothing to show for my efforts?" SuWan said with narrowed eyes. Then Dotty once again handed over another bottle of wine with her best smile.

Seeing Dotty's movements, the boss couldn't help but hesitated, "Sell, sell, I'll sell, no... I'll give it to you!"

"Really?" SuWan questioned his face showed surprise.

"Really!"

"That's so embarrassing, I am not fully prepared for this outcome, you, go draft a contract and get the formalities in order as soon as possible." SuWan said, while gesturing to one of his subordinates.

The boss was very cooperative, but it didn't really matter even if he wasn't. He would be directly killed after a few more bottles to his head like that, and... the person in front of him gave him the feeling that deep down he was no ordinary person and not to be messed with. Although his club was valuable, his small life was more important. It didn't take long for the contract to be signed and the ownership of this establishment be transferred to SuWan.

"I... can I go now?" The boss asked tentatively.

SuWan smiled, "Of course, do I need to show you out?"

"no, no that won't be necessary!"

The boss quickly shook his head and hurried out, he didn't want to give this crazy man any time to change his mind about letting him leave in one piece.

Pushing the door open to the outside and noticing that no one was behind him, the boss was let out a sigh on relief.

"Damn, I won't let this go, you Yellow-skinned Monkey, I will get back at you for this sooner or later..." The boss whispered as he began walking down the street. Before he finished speaking, he felt a whistling sound from above his head. He looked up subconsciously and saw a metallic blur. The huge signboard above the club suddenly came crashing down, and before anyone could respond, nearby pedestrians heard a crash.

Immediately, a pool of blood quickly flowed out from under the signboard.

The outside commotion was heard naturally inside as well, and when it was observed by witnesses that the originally intact metal sign fallen with no one else was around, the pedestrians outside conclusively came to the idea that this man was just very unlucky.

But the people inside didn't think so.

Was it a coincidence?

Everyone subconsciously looks at SuWan.

Unlucky?

Yes, since he called SuWan a yellow-skinned monkey, his fate was doomed.

"Leave and come back to demolish this place and renovate it. The current style... is too earthy for my taste." SuWan looked natural and spoke about the decoration items he wanted changed out, as if he didn't know what was happening outside.

Everyone stayed here for a decent amount of time, dismissing the employees, locking the door as they left. SuWan and the others went to find the next real estate location that SuWan had set his sites on.

A huge estate with a large acreage, almost the size of a small city square block.

This homeowner was more friendly and more fortunate, because he was getting on in years and planned on leaving to be closer to family for some time. He was preparing to sell the property for a few months now. Therefore, SuWan bought the place for less than two million dollars. Even if he didn't do anything in the future, the price of this real estate investment would double after several decades, and eventually it would be worth hundreds of millions at that time.

However, the final details couldn't be completed in one day. Fortunately, there was no need for SuWan to handle it all in person. He simply would spend his first night in his new home. He considered it a new experience. The feeling of being a landlord. The only disadvantage was that no matter how big the place was, there was no way to get Raven to sleep in a different room.

He didn't have the heart to actually force Raven to do something he knew she would be uncomfortable with.

He officially bought the place and finished all the necessary paperwork over the next couple of days. He found a housekeeper to take care of the place temporarily from a newspaper add, after all, he didn't live here yet. After making some arrangements, SuWan and company set off again to find the next mutant. Shaw was being so generous, he couldn't procrastinate anymore without something to show for it.

The next mutant he was looking for was also a member of the original Hellfire Club, the Red Devil!

The Red Devil had the ability to teleport, this ability could be connected to a different space to achieve the effects of teleportation. In the movie, the Red Devil was very strong, especially one of his primary features being his red tail, which was a very lethal weapon. If Riptide and the Red Devil went at it, there was a big possibility that the former would come out very miserable!

The Red Devil in the comics also has the ability to re-generate, and had lived for a long time. Many demons including Satan were pseudonyms that he used. However, the case may not necessarily be the same here, but even so, his experience and personality would definitely not make him as easy to attract as it was for Riptide. Because of this, SuWan had been training his ability before this confrontation, so as not embarrass himself after he came face to face with him.
