Chill air crept over my body. Feeling the need to cover up I quicken my paste to the library. Hopefully no one was there. Trying to get into the restricted area is easy, just turn the handle and walk in. Really simple, but better to be prepared. (I was hoping to save the library for the last few days of my stay.) Salenne thought, PB close to her as they scurried up the steps to their destination. (With the beast and the murders it might be shortened. Sentry's make it more difficult for me to do my work.) Opening the library doors its empty. The wood polished floor to ceiling bookshelfs displayed various kinds of books on ethier side. Long tables set in the middle divided the room in half. Private desks set both apart and separate from the rest had dividers put up around them. A huge globe is centered in the middle of the library. It's detailed map showed the world. Dragging her hand on it making it spin, Salenne passed it making her way to the restricted section. Like the rest of the library it had floor to ceiling shelves along with a fence around them. Some of the books had chains on them linking them to the shelf. Looking at the gate lock I uncovered my arm I pressed on one my carvings letting my magic flow not sensing any rune stones or protection. Puffing up PB just threw something at it. Hitting the ground it clatting breaking the silence. Reaching out I took hold of what she threw, pressing to one of the bars it opened. "They might have well put up a sign that says 'Dont', with a disappointed sick figure drawn on it." Laughing, we walked in. PB gliding to one light to another Salenne glanced to the book covers. All forbidden here, yet she had constant access to them back home growing up. Seeing the book that got her into Necromancy she ran her hand over the binding. Smile creeping on her face she left it and continued her search. "All these book up here collecting dust. If they didn't want the students to read them why not destroy them instead of making them decorative?" PB landed on a shelf, her wings stirring up the dust. Seeing the book I was looking for I climbed up. "To see who would be tempted. Learn how to defend against it." My hand slipping from the book, "Not everything the masters did was banned." I wiped it off on my clothes. It's binding sticking to the others on ethier side, made it apperent that it was rarely read. Removing my hair pin I stuck it between the bindings of each book. The creaking of them sounded like they were breaking. "How did you get in there!?" Ignoring the barking voice, I continued un-sticking the book. "You broke the wards," Rolling my eyes I managed to fit my fingers on the cover, yanking the book free I gave him my best smile. "Your face is going to get stuck that way." Klaus was right behind me, as stern as ever. "You broke in to the restricted section." His voice could make a kid piss themselves. "No. It was like that when we got here."
"The books in here are off limits get out, and put that one back."
"To you maybe but not to me. I read half of them before coming here anyway."
"Your on provisional leave, not yet a official student. This will affect it."
"Thanks. But your precious reputation won't be affected." Sitting on the shelf lip, I rested the book in my lap. "You read these too at some point or are those just rumors?" Klaus face turned to stone at the assumption. "Yes I did actually, just for defense magic and research. Not much else." Klaus locked eyes with me. "And if I'm doing the same thing as you, will I get in trouble?" Pouting my lower lip I spoke in a baby voice. "Yes you will. You'll be exspelled." He nearly growled all the words. "And that will be terrible for you. Poor thing I should consider you, huh." I leaned on the shelf crossing my feet at the ankels. "I won't be affected by it in the slightest." Klaus stood there on the other side of the fence, his uniform made him look like a vampire then a prefect. "Oh, so no need to worry then."
"The recent events that are happening, people will expect you." He exhaled through his mouth, pinching the bridge of his nose. "As to be expected." I told him. He really is laying it on thick. I headed towards the exit, opening the book seeing a familiar creature. It got yanked out if my hand, (Puffed up snobbing asshole) I thought. "Why do you care?" I asked him yanking the book back . As I left the restricted section I opened to the first page. "I don't care. There will be another opportunity to become a teacher." He checked the lock, flicking his wrist it popped into place. "They'll let someone who studied forbidden magic to be a teacher." Smirking I glanced at him over the book. "It was for defense magic against it." Sounding annoyed by that continued remark, he tried to get the book back. Dodging his hand, I put more distance between us. PB landed on my arm, "Listen here, Buddy," Not taking my eyes off the book "The beast is on a murder spree. With no distinct pattern." I told him. "It can't be just hitting at random something must tie them all together."
"You think someone is controlling it." Klaus spoke in a level voice. "Your not as smart as you let on." I told him.
"I have a lot of things on my mind." He said.
"I'm on your mind." I didn't hide my smile.
"Along with the murders and a family matter." Klaus' glare came back. "Ohh honey that isn't a good look for you." Salenne shifted on her feet, putting a hand on my hip.
"How I look doesn't interest me." Klaus said.
"You shure your face is going to get stuck that way." I mimicked a shiver wrapping my arms around me. "Here you read this. I know beast more than you." Planting the book to his chest Klaus let out a grunt. "Good luck." Walking away I waved at him.
