With the word 'clueless' written all over his face, Jax came to a sudden halt as soon as he turned around in the direction of the source of the strange sounds.
In fact, it wouldn't be exaggerating to say it was impossible for normal humans to perceive those sounds and Jax was only able to hear them maybe thanks to his upgraded abilities.
It was a series of ultra low humming sounds, like the lightest mechanical whirring noises one could ever hear.
In addition to Jax's newfound vigilant attitude combined with his 'quick reflexes,' which he activated discarding his ignorant nature, the smallest changes in the surroundings didn't take permission or too much time to be presented themselves to Jax's subconscious.
And the scene that greeted his eyes was beyond explainable, at least to him.
