Curly follows John, Mike, and Beast as they make their way back to the "HQ". They had all been friends for at least 4 years now, and soon they would have to go their separate ways. Their life as kids was soon to end, and their paths as adults would follow. This left poor Curly with a bittersweet feeling in her heart. John and Beast could be seen as the leaders of their little group. Those brothers had tied the group together, handpicking people from the different cliques at their school, unafraid of being outcasted.
Curly remembered when John had first approached her. She felt like she had met a talented young actor playing the role of a charming investor. In the cliques at their school, she was convinced he was one of those untouchable students, who gave off the air of the good looking nobility. She was so sure he would never talk to someone like her. She was thrilled when he asked to be her friend. He even asked for her number! Curly had felt like that day was all a dream, and in a way it was.
Curly had returned home that night and suffered mental abuse from her adopted mother, who only ever seemed to want to make her feel like she was trash. Then she was physically abused by her younger adopted sister. She was never able to defend herself in these situations because her mother would always yell at her more if she did anything to her sister. This caused her to fall into a depressive state.
Late that night, As Curly was hiding in her room, and avoiding her family, Curly got two texts. One from John and another from an unknown number. John had said "Hey Curly, I hope you don't mind if I gave your number to my brother as well. We both would like you to be our friend. He may be a little intimidating, but he means well." The other message was from Beast. "Hello Curly! It is a pleasure to meet you, I have seen you around the school, and always felt you were someone worth getting to know better, but I nervous I might scare you if I tried talking to you due to my significant stature. I addressed my brother about this and he felt the same way, so he was the one who approached you."
Curly was astonished. She had seen Beast around the school. If John was a Knight, Beast was the Dragon. He was easily 7'4" and wears a medical face mask he had drawn a grinning face on. He was probably nearing 300 pounds and could easily be a star football player if he wanted, or pro wrestler. He was all muscle. He had been in a major accident when he had been a child, and because of it he had a slouch, and rarely talked. Some rumors started by some of the more venomous students who said he had died and was a zombie, which is why he wore his mask.
She talked with them for a while and the next week they were already visiting her house. Her mother thought this was a great time to get some free labor done, and said before they could do anything fun they had to clean the gutters and fix a hole in her deck. The boys were surprised but helped out. While they worked Curly had helped out, and her younger sister, Who was only 2 or so years younger was about to do something to injure Curly was scared off by a cold glare and a deep grumble from Beast. After that day they hung out more and more, and with new people.
Thinking of all the good memories they had shared, Curly started to cry quietly. Lillith who was walking beside her noticed, and wrapped an arm around her. Lillith was having similar thoughts and memories.
