Alex flopped down in her usual ragged cloth furnished armchair, unlike Mike, Curly, and Lillith, She wasn't worried about the group splitting up. John seemed to have something up his sleeve. Alex simply took her backpack off of her back. Then pulled out one of her juice boxes. Alex wasn't like the rest of the group who were concerned about their futures. Alex was very naïve and trusted Beast and John with making the plans for things. This is why she often seemed completely carefree and never worried too much about what she should be doing and just waited to be told what to do.
She also wasn't recruited by John, but by Beast. She had been walking home through the city streets late one night when two men had approached her and made her back into the alleyway. They were very intimidating. Alex couldn't remember what they had said or wanted. Just when one of them had grabbed her arm and pull her, she felt a large hand be placed on her shoulder. "Stop... Right... There..." A deep voice had growled behind her. She nor the men bothering her had heard or noticed him approach. She had remembered looking up and seeing his mask, its jaw open showing his ruined lips and jaws underneath. The sinister glint of his metal fangs as he spoke. She wasn't the only one who had seen it. The men who were accosting her swiftly started to back off as he leered at them with his unnatural face of twisted metal and flesh. He had protectively moved around Alex and stood in front of her so she was out of immediate danger. After the men had fled, Beast fixed his mask and turned to her. "Are... You... Alright..?" He asked softly. When she had seen his face she had been frozen with fear. Now, Alex relaxed, hearing the gentle tone of his voice, and seeing the concern in his eyes.
After that night Beast had become an object of interest for Alex. She followed him about school and basically everywhere he went. John had to send her home a few times after she had followed Beast home without realizing it. Alex would pelt Beast with questions and observations all the time in the beginning. After a while, she had calmed down and now would just happily be at his side. Beast never seemed to mind her, as due to his disfigurement he had few friends for such a long time.
She watched Beast as he stargazed through the window of the abandoned warehouse they had been using as a hangout. The dim lights above shown with a golden hew and mixed intriguingly with the colors of the neon lights outside. John was setting up some nice chill music to give the place a better atmosphere. Mike, Curly, and Lillith were sharing memories and chilling on the other couches the group had dragged in.
Suddenly there was a bright flashing of many colors, and a man in a cloak crashes through one window and breaks through another one as though he was flung like a ragdoll by and child throwing a fit. Beast turns to John and makes several hand motions to communicate swiftly. John shouts "Everyone, quickly get down!" Beast is already vaulting out the broken window the man had left through.
