I stirred when I heard the others waking up around me. I opened my eyes and sat up. I looked besides me and jumped out of my bed cursing as I went. I landed awkwardly on the ground and winced from the pain coming from my thigh. I stabilized myself on my feet before glaring at the person laying on my bed sound asleep.
"What the fuck are you doing in my bed?! How did you get in my bed without my notice? Getting out!"
It was Airc. He was asleep on my bed and hearing my angry shouts woke. He looked up at me and smiled mumbling morning at me. I felt a throb on my forehead before and I cursed and headed out of the tent ignoring the surprised looks given to me by the others in the tent.
I left the tent making my way to Captain Seans tent. I then heard a shout from behind telling me to wait up but I didn't slow my pace one bit. I may have been hurt but that was not going to slow me down especially after waking to someone I was starting to really dislike in my bed.
One thing that really made me angry was I didn't know when he had snuck into my bed with me without my notice. I was such a light sleeper I would normally wake to the slightest sound yet I didn't even stir when he had climbed into my bed with me. This made me both nervous and worried. Although I was fine he could have killed me if he wanted.
I pushed my way into captain Sean's tent and saw him and two others arguing. I knew why they were arguing the moment I heard them saying 'where could he have gone' and I spoke.
"Captain Sean. Your prisoner escaped last night." Captain Sean turned and looked at me, "Tell me something I don't know. We can't find him." I spoke coldly, "I woke to him in my bed. If you can't keep him locked up I'm going to kill him."
Right as I finished saying they Airc walked into the tent whining, "Kanami, don't leave me behind." I glared at him while Sean and the others looked on dumbfounded. I spoke, "You said you would behave if I pulled the bullet out of your shoulder last night. I pulled it out yet you didn't behave."
Airc took a step back putting his hand over his injured shoulder fear in his eyes as he spoke. "I.. I didn't run away or cause any problems. I was worried for you…" I glared, "You said you would behave. You didn't. And on top of that slept in my bed." Airc smiled nervously, "I couldn't resist you looked too cute sleeping. And I didnt want to leave you alone."
I snapped and threw a punch landing it squarely on his nose. I heard a crack before Airc fell backwards squealing in pain as he gripped his face. I retracted my fist and looked at him coldly even as I saw the shocked faces of the others watching. I looked at Airc and he finally looked at me gripping his nose even as blood dripped between his fingers.
I spoke, "ever get in my bed again and I will kill you." I looked at captain Sean and spoke, "captain Sean lock this idiot up and throw away the key"
I turned and walked out of the tent without waiting for a reply. I headed to the kitchen area that was outside. It was similar to just a fire pit but with the cover it made me think of a barbecue pit. I walked over and got myself some breakfast. It was simple cream-of-wheat with some fruit on the side. I knew I wouldn't be able to eat it all but i could eat most of it if I really forced myself.
I went and sat down on the side of the makeshift kitchen. I started to eat silently ignoring the others around and ignoring the pain coming from my thigh. I knew I'd have to deal with the pain for at least a week or two at least by normal standards. I wasn't normal so how long it would take me to heal I didn't know.
I glanced up when I noticed someone sit next to me and clenched my teeth. It seemed Airc wouldn't take a hint to leave me alone. I took a deep breath to calm myself before I heard captain Sean's voice.
"Kanami.. I know you don't like the guy but… he wont listen to anyone else and.. I'm leaving you in charge of him." I stood and glared at Sean, "Oh hell no." I saw Captain Sean smile weakly, "I'm sorry but he threatened to kill anyone who got in his way to remain by you."
I turned my gaze on Airc who was smiling brightly with an almost innocent look on his face. I could tell he had taken care of his bloody nose even though it was still red. I felt my head throb and glared at him until his smile disappeared and he looked ready to run.
"You really want to get close to me?" My voice was cold with no emotion. Airc swallowed, "y-es…" I spoke, "ok then, you have to listen to everything I say and do what I tell you when I tell you. Also you attempt to kill anyone I will gut you." Airc nodded, "Understood."
I sat back down and ignored the others as I ate my food. I noticed out of the corner of my eyes as captain Sean walked away and saw Airc staring at me. I ate what I could before pushing my bowl away. I then heard Airc speak up.
"Aren't you going to finish your food?" I looked at him coldly, "I'm full you want what's left you can have it." Airc blinked, "wait you're full? You didn't even eat half of the bowl and only some fruit. Are you sick?" I scowled, "I'm not sick. I don't eat a lot ever." Airc blinked, "oh.. It's the opposite with me I always eat a lot."
I looked at him coldly, "shut up and eat." Airc blinked, "ok then."
He fell silent and took the bowl I had pushed away, eating what was left of my food. I shook my head softly before looking away thinking of what I needed to get done. I knew I needed to treat my injury before anything else but after that? I didn't know what to do. I couldn't go running about due to my injury or much else. I could sit down and write out the chemical formula for the different colors of the kevlar shirt and the plans for revising airplanes.
I knew that was about all I could do for now with my injured leg. I looked at Airc who had finished his food and I stood taking the bowl and put it with the other bowls to be washed. I then started to walk off even as Airc followed me silently.
